Needs alot of TLC, not a four star hotel
Checked in. Bathroom door was broken. Changed room three times, the third room was the worst of the bunch ( carpet was filthy, electrical socket hanging from ceiling), but could not be bothered to go down a fourth time. I work in hospitality and under stand the frustrations, but maintenance is definitely required. Staff on the desk were friendly and breakfast was OK.
The best thing about my stay was...Super close to Keleti train station and metro station right outside.

Golden park hotel
This was the first time I’d taken my tablet with me and it was just as well, as alpha rooms emailed me re change of documents required for next hotel on itinerary. Luckily the nice guy in reception allowed me use of hotel computer to print new document. The Golden Park hotel offers good value for money, very good access to cheap public transport (underground metro) and the main railway is across the road from the hotel, we went to Salzburg ( Europe trend hotel) on a four day excursion ticket. The staff was informative and efficient unlike the anonymous alpha rooms, all I got when I rang the emergency line was bad music. If I travel to Budapest again I would certainly use The Golden Park Hotel, as for alpha rooms? Regards tp
The best thing about my stay was...Good WyFi, Easy access to public transport

Golden Park Hotel
N. Moroney, Ireland
On arrival on Sunday night we found a very rude receptionist closely followed by rude bar staff. The carpet in the room was ready to walk out the door with dirt. Won't be staying again.
The best thing about my stay was...The Italian Restaurant next door

Not really 4 Stars
Mr _topcat, England
The staff are polite and seem to be efficient. But is this really a 4 star hotel? I don't think so: No chair in bedroom just a stool. No airconditioning, telephone was broken, 'check in' for breakfast needs to be reviewed - waited in a queue 15 minutes 1 morning. Breakfast when you get in the room is not that special. Hotel advertises with Sauna - But no apparently not, its been closed down.
The best thing about my stay was...near to railway station

The Golden Park - a good hotel.
Alistair Campbell, Dronfield Woodhouse
The Golden Park is situated very close to Keleti railway station and is within easy reach of the centre of Budapest (3 stops on the Metro.) The rooms are spacious and confortable, although the bathrooms are somewhat cramped. The staff is helpful and speak good English. The breakfast is buffet-style and good. There is a number of bars, restaurants and shops near to the hotel. A word of warning: if you are considering staying at this hotel.a great deal of building work is being undertaken on the square outside the railway station. This means that there is a fair amount of rubble and, from early morning,a considerable amount of noise. From looking at the area, the work will last a good few weeks,if not months.Bear this in mind.
The best thing about my stay was...The best thing about my stay was the convenience of being close to the centre of Budapest.

Great value for a great hotel!
N. F. , Greece
A great hotel with the metro station Keleti just in front of it. Only 3 metro stations from the center of Budapest. Great service every day cleaning our room. Warm and quit room with big bathroom and hot water all day. Nice breakfast to choose from. A great lobby with good prices and free wi-fi in it. Great reception service they booked us a minibus to transfer us to the airport at 4:00 am. And also great security 24h/day in the hotel entrance. Nice restaurants aside the hotel with good prices (arabic and italian). And of course a great city to explore.
The best thing about my stay was...The service and the metro station just outside the hotel.

Cheap and cheerful
I chose this hotel for its' location, which is directly opposite Keleti Railway Station, and within a couple of minutes to the metro. It is also within walking distance to the Arena Plaza shopping centre. It was clean, comfortable and served its' purpose. Can't comment on the food as I was on a room only basis. There is wireless internet available in the bar area, so you can chill with a beer whilst surfing! Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

50th Birthday Celebration
Linda Cook, 40 miles from London
We were a group of 8 women ranging from 23 - 58. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful if we had any queries the front desk staff were happy to book taxis, book trips or give advice on where to visit. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The hot and cold buffet breakfast was varied and just kept on coming. Locationwise there were some nice restaurants and bars and the main hub was about a 15 min walk although the buses were frequent enough. Only book the taxi firm recommended by the hotel as one of our friends did get ripped off as the cab driver helped himself to a large tip. The hotel booked our boat trip and meal on the Danube and even our youngsters had a terrific time. Lovely hotel and fabulous City.

Review of Golden Park
Harvey Nutter, Brierfield Lancashire
Just returned from a 5 day stay in Golden Park. We arrived tea time and no problems booking in, we were placed in 1st floor room which is for no-smokers. Stairs and lifts all ok. Breakfast room on 1st floor which is in a large restaurant with a good view.Brakfast there was plenty of choice hot and cold and you could eat what you wanted, one of the best I have come across anywhere.Double room we found everything we wanted TV hairdryer nice size room and bathroom.Location of hotel excellent near station and underground but be careful of beggars and tramps who I am afraid spoil this beautiful city.We tried not to let it bother us and I suppose you get used to it after a while. We felt very safe walking even at night as long as you take care like you would anyhere.Plenty to see and do museums etc.Restaurants excellent. I would recommend a couple of trips 1/House of terror on Andrassy street not for the faint hearted but well worth visit to give you an idea of the brutal communist regime in Hungary and 2nd for a nice meal and good cheap beer the Caledonia pub (Scotch) on Mozsar Ter just round corner from Oktogon. Cheapest beer we found 72p in the local Hungarian Bars in Irish/Scotch Bars £1.60 approx so not bad.All in all can recommend Golden Park and would go there again if we ever return to Hungary.Nice bar in Hotel but expensive also nice Italian restaurant attached to Hotel.
