Villa marina club hotel
Teresa, United Kingdom
I'm actually reviewing the villa marina club hotel as I had previously booked the festival village and then got an email to say it was closed for the season and was offered the villa marina club hotel as an alternative, I must say it was very good and the entertainment at night was fantastic, the food and drinks were also very good, only thing it is slightly out of town but apart from that really enjoyed our stay
The best thing about my stay was...Entertainment

Just back from 10 day holiday
Deirdre from Dublin, Ireland
we were a family group of 13 and we chose the Festival Village for its location. However the dining room bar and swimming pool and surrounding area are far too small for t ehe umber of guests. Also the whole place needed to be refurbished and the adult entertainment was a disgrace It was the first time ever been away that there was no music played.
The best thing about my stay was...It was near a beautiful beach and the bus was we were beside a lovely beach and the bus stopped outside the hotel

Hi will not be using Alpha rooms again. As I was very disappointed when arrived to this hotel .And they did not have a cot for the baby .I ask for cot to room but I was told to pay €5 a night for cot . I had told them that I payed and it had on invoice From alpha rooms 3 adults and 2 children .so that is 5 of us ,we all get a bed but baby does not get a cot .they said it was not there problem and was alpha rooms problem .This was a very bad start to our holiday .I would no use alpha rooms again and would not go back to festival village ever again .i will be putting this up on the net later .
The best thing about my stay was....you get what you pay for ,only a 2 star

We stayed as a family of four. The manager greeted us on arrival and was always a presence in the apartments. All of the facilities were extremely clean, the apartment we had was cleaned every day. All of the staff were friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was plentiful, a large amount of choice considering the amount of people they had to cater for. It was a small complex so we felt it was safe to let our children have some freedom. The buses to Salou and La Pineda stopped outside the apartment and were regular. There was no noise after the bar shut at midnight, the entertainment was family suitable.
The best thing about my stay was...It was away from the bustle of Salou and had lovely quieter coves nearby, but was close enough if you wanted something more lively.

Good Value for money
Came here with husband and three kids, 14,12 & 4. Very friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Two bed apt was very spacious, clean and although we didnt have much of a view they were comfortable, however they could do with a lick of paint! (The stairways were a lot to be desired but that was a very minor issue! ). Pool area was nice plenty of beds if you were up early to get them! Kids had a ball in the pools! Food and drink was very good. We have a few picky eaters but they never when hungry! Great selection of food every day. Kids loved the snack bar. Entrainment was good for smaller kids, my 4 year old loved it and could t wait to go to see Jack, Chloe and the gang! No much for older kids to do but they still enjoyed it. Its a nice walk to La Pineda, about 15 mins. All in all would definitely recommend this hotel, and would return again.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly family orientated hotel with good food

Waste of a holiday staying here
Firstly - the hotel is far away from anywhere Secondly- hot food was very poor we loved on tuna and salad the hole week (plus we got ill after the first night of eating hot food???) Thirdly- it was terrential rain on one of the nights so all of our clothes we were wearing and that we're on the balcony were absolutely drenched. The next morning I asked to use the laundry facilities only to be told no not until 5pm therefore by 5pm all of our clothes smelt very damp and at 5pm when I was allowed to use the laundry room I had to pay 5 euros to be given only one ball of detergent (unknown what brand or whether it was bio!!!) and was only allowed to use one machine on a quick wash 30 minutes on 30 degrees so even after washing the smell of damp did not go away. Fourthly- the room was extremely dirty. Towels had hair and stains on them and room was never cleaned once (the made the beds tho!!!!) Fifth- entertainment was so bad but they did try very hard to entertain us they were just not talented enough!!! Friendly tho! Sixth- manager was very friendly but also intrusive if only he spent more time looking at the hotel problems rather than hiding behind the few positive reviews they have. Ie: bad food reviews, there is no point telling people that you have had good food reviews because the reality is the food is awful and if you tweaked it and have the chef a reality check you'd have even more 'good food' reviews. The all inclusive setup is tight also, snacks are not all day continuously like most all inclusive hotels the snacks were basic and cooked by the bar staff??? The breakfast lunch and dinner did not give you a very big window period to eat within. On average 2 hours per mealtime. Breakfast 8:30-10! THID HOTEL IS A LOW STANDARD 3 star hotel IT IS DEFINTELY NOT WORTHY OF BEING RANKED #2 hotels to stay in in Salou. It's not even in Salou it's in cap Salou and we saw a large amount of much better hotels than this I paid £760 for 2 adults and 2 kids for This hotel and I feel I wasted my money
The best thing about my stay was...The best this about this holiday was going to portaventura theme park and going to Salou beach!
