Geared up for family fun
Disneyland Paris has brought the magic of Walt Disney to the outskirts of Paris. Take your family to the land where dreams can come true. There are two parks – Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios, with an exciting range of zones waiting to be discovered. The park has seven Disney hotels as well as over 50 places to eat. The whole area is geared up for family fun.
Race Lightning McQueen
The Disneyland Park has 5 exciting zones including Frontierland, home to the renowned and terrifying Big Thunder Mountain. Fantasyland is where Disney’s favourite characters come to life – perhaps spend an afternoon with Peter Pan. Budding Jedi Knights will love Discoveryland and the Jedi Academy. Walt Disney Studios helps bring the movie business to life. Take the studio tour and see how films are created. Younger children will love the Toon Studios – head to Cars Quatre Roues Rallye and line alongside Lightning McQueen in a thrilling race.
Walk along Main Street
The whole park has a magical feel. Children will thrill at the sight of their favourite characters as they walk along Main Street USA. Fans of Sleeping Beauty can marvel at the incredible light display of the Disney Dream show with the famous castle as the backdrop. It is not necessary to stay in one of the themed Disney hotels, park tickets can be purchased separately and you may choose to enjoy the delights of nearby Paris as part of your visit.
Things to do in Disneyland Paris
Eat and drink in Disneyland Paris
There are over 50 places to eat and drink within Disneyland Paris. You can eat your way around the world if you choose to. There are themed restaurants such as Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon, perfect for a chow down with the family. The children will love the wagons and the cowboy themed décor. Many of the hotels offer meal packages which may mean all your dining is taken care of. The parks also offer a good range of places for you to take a break with coffee and a piece of cake. For a slice of Mad Men, head to the New York Bar within the Disney New York Hotel. The wood panelled bar is a great place to unwind after a day of park activity.
If you really want to eat well, try Paris. It’s a short distance away by train from Marne la Vallée.
Disneyland Paris nightlife
Disneyland Paris is probably not the number one party destination. Families will enjoy the restaurants and bars within the hotels but you are not going to find Goofy and Buzz Lightyear rocking the night away. If you need a slice of real life you can hit the bright lights of Paris, easily reached by taxi or train. Be warned, the parks open early and the children will want you there so don’t overdo it.
Shopping in Disneyland Paris
As you would imagine, the shopping opportunities in Disney are endless but mostly Disney themed. If you want the latest Elsa outfit or need a Woody to go with Buzz then the Disney Village is the place to head. If you don’t want to spend any more money than you already have you might like to steer the kids away from the village. The flea markets and boulevards of Paris are littered with high end fashion boutiques and jewellers if the need to shop over powers you.
Things to see in Disneyland Paris
The two parks combined have such a wide range of rides and interactive experiences that it can be difficult to squeeze it all in. There are some rides and events that stand out above the rest and it is a good idea to plan your day around them. Arrive early, be prepared to queue and enjoy it all! The daily Disney Magic on Parade is a must – you get the chance to see all your favourite characters as they pass by. The Disney Dream show held in front of Sleeping Beauties Castle is memorable and stunning. For a spot of thrill seeking the classic Big Thunder Mountain is always hard to beat in Frontierland. Horror fans will enjoy the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Finish off your trip with a personal meet ‘n’ greet with the man himself, Mickey Mouse.
Call in to the Village and sample the famous American Breakfast complete with pancakes and maple syrup. Your breakfast will arrive on roller skates as the waitresses carefully glide their way to your booth.
Lunch with Disney Princes & Princesses
Set in the beautiful Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland, this is a real wonderland experience. Your favourite fairy tale characters are on hand as you enjoy a magical evening meal. This needs to be booked in advance.
Stay in the Disneyland Hotel
Treat yourself to a stay at the enchanting Disneyland Hotel – a beautiful building right at the heart of the park. The magic of Disney is all around and the family will thrill at the little details like the grand Mickey Mouse clock tower.

Arrived to the hotel earlier than expected, had to wait around until rooms were ready for us which was a bit tiring but understandable. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. Rooms cleaned daily, beds made, fresh towels and quiet at night time. Only downfall I would have is having to pay €12 for swimming shorts which is quite pricey for a family. Breakfast was nice, basic but was filling enough. Pizza restaurant was a bit expensive but did enjoy it when we had got it. Didn't get a chance to try the buffet, seemed a bit pricey for a family but unfortunately didn't get to try it. The other restaurant beside the cinema was also a bit expensive, opted for the pizza restaurant over this due to pricing. Would certainly visit here again, made feel very welcome. Disney Shuttle bus was an added bonus getting dropped to and from Disney Land Paris was excellent as we visited here 3 days.
The best thing about my stay was...Comfort - beds were quite spacious

Lovely service upon arrival, staff super friendly! Pool, restaurant, bar etc staff all lovely and helpful. Room nice, spacious and clean. Breakfast is typical Disney hotel buffet - bread, croissants, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurts and cereal. The shop is not open all day, so make note of when it might be closed, as we had to leave before we were able to buy a few bits that we wanted. All in all a lovely stay!
The best thing about my stay was...The pool and soft play definitely makes it for us!

Explorers hotel was great from start to finish. Easy check in with basic rooms but clean and cleaned everyday. Excellent for children with its own pool and soft play area. Breakfast was continental with cereals, bread, fruit, yoghurts and pastries. Captains library restaurant has nice food ate there one night. Easy check out and bag storage for airport pick up. Would recommend this hotel for children. It also has a shuttle bus that runs to the parks free. Bit crowded but gets you there quickly about 10 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

What I loved about this hotel was that it’s very kod friendly. Best place to stay if you have children. You have it all in the hotel even a small Disney boutique to a cinema. I absolutely loved my stay and would definitely go back. Not far from the city of Paris and very near to Disneyland. It has a beautiful shopping centre and village outlet of stores near too. Definitely would recommend this place.
The best thing about my stay was...I loved the swimming area for the kids.

The best thing about my stay was...The water park

This is not our first time staying in this hotel and in fairness it is very hard to beat in terms of value and facilities, The pool is open late for a dip after a hectic day in the parks and the bar has happy hour from 7 to eight, the only disappointment here was the notice in the lifts says cocktails are included in happy hour and the bar staff said no. they need to take this off the notice boards in the Lift. Rooms were cleaned every day and the staff are excellent...
The best thing about my stay was...Facilites available and Restaurants
