Good stay

Checked in with 3 friends for an over night stay in an executive family room... The room itself was amazing .. Newly refurbished, clean and a decent size. The corridors and lifts are worn look worn and old however that couldn't take away how impressed I was with the room. Staff helpful and friendly. Had read some bad reviews but I was happily surprised with my entire stay for the low price we paid. Would definitely stay again 😀

Got what we paid for

The hotel cost just £35.40 for me and my partner. For the price, we didn't really expect much for a hotel in London, but stayed optimistic never the less. Check-in wasn't until 1600 which seems a bit late, but bearable. The entrance and the reception area area is lovely. Nicely decorated and very well lit. A good start. The staff were very welcoming and polite and seem to know what they are doing. There is only one lift to the upper floors (for the side we wanted anyway) which can only hold around 3 people with cases. No good really if there is a large group. The room itself wasn't that bad. good lighting, small LCD TV with freeview (although i did have to re-terminate the aerial so that we could watch it), the bathroom was clean, although not very well finished. There was no plug for the sink, and the taps were very hard to turn off. The bath was clean and had recently been re-sealed, and the toilet was nice and sparkly. Everything else in the room was more than acceptable. It was clean and tidy, had tea and coffee facilities, as well as a hair dryer. The carpet was nice and stainless, and the bed was very comfortable. There were a couple of eye-sores worth mentioning. The mains lead to the TV was nicely concealed in plastic conduit to ground level, but then was exposed to to reach the plug socket half way up the wall, could have easily been hidden in more conduit. Also the wall-mounted telephone had obviously recently been removed, and there was a bit of a nasty patch where the colour in the wall didn't match as a result. The bar was very reasonably priced with nice seating and a good selection of drinks. Not sure what the food was like as we went out to a nice little pizzeria, (worth noting that if you leave the hotel at night, you have to have your room card-key re-activated) but breakfast is great if you go for the full English, which costs extra, but is worth it, or there's a nice selection of cereals and toast. Overall, it is not the greatest hotel i have stayed in (ranging from formula 1 hotels on the French auto route to Hilton Hotels in Paris, and Holiday Inns in Pennsylvania) but it is certainly not the worst. I have stayed in 4* hotels that have been poorer quality. For £35 in London, this is a decent hotel, even if it does fall short in a couple of places.

This Hotel is appaling i would not reccommend to my worst enemy!! Rooms and the whole Hotel is run down and shabby, i booked a double room and was initialy put into a room with 4 single beds at the rear of the hotel in what was like some kind of staff quarters. After complaining i was moved into a room with 2 double beds?? Neither room is anything like the pictures on the web site, damp filthy, peeling paint wholes in the walls! As soon as i complained the staffs helpfull demeanour dissapeared and i was treated like an outcast! Breakfast was again appaling, chaotic no juice tea & coffee from flasks, not enough plates dirty cutlery limited to toast 2 choices of the very cheapest cereal, Blakcurrant jam, rubbery cheese and fatty ham slices absolutley shocking, in filthy surrondings! I would not reccomend anyone staying in this Hotel!
