The Costa Blanca’s boldest resort
Benidorm is bold, brash and buzzing – just the way its thousands of returning visitors like it. Situated on the sun-soaked Costa Blanca, Benidorm is a high-rise, high-attitude haven for holidaymakers who like their holiday lively and loud. This larger than life destination is well-known for its beaches, bars and dedicated following of international tourists.
From bars to beaches
Benidorm comes alive after dark with comedians, cabaret, drag queens and clowns. Night-owls will find the majority of bars and pubs located in The Square, which is perfectly placed in Benidorm’s town centre. Keep the party going until sunrise on the ‘Top Road’, where you’ll find a cluster of super clubs and big name DJs. Daytime bliss can be found on Benidorm’s two stunning sweeps of beach, Levante to the east and Poniente to the west. Both have clean, soft sand and clear, safe water.
Places to eat, shop and see
Benidorm’s choice of restaurants and cafes is impressive; food ranges from Sunday roasts to gourmet gastronomy, from traditional Spanish tapas to McDonalds. Wander into the Old Town for more traditional eateries and a real taste of Benidorm’s authentic Spanish culture. With cobbled streets and a maze of shops and restaurants, the Old Town is a charming break from the electric atmosphere of modern Benidorm. A variety of waterparks, theme parks and nature reserves lie just outside the town centre. Venture further afield to Alicante (50 minutes by car) for streets lined with shops and a pretty port overlooked by a castle.
Things to do in Benidorm
On the beach in Benidorm
With over 1.2 miles of golden sand, Levante Beach is the perfect place for a day spent by the sea. Pick a spot, settle in the sunshine and relax, safe in the knowledge that there are key facilities such as toilets, showers and shops close by.
Sunbeds can be pricey so pack some beach towels to lie on.
Eat and drink in Benidorm
Benidorm Old Town is a world away from the bright lights and noise of its modern counterpart. The charming, traditional restaurants found here serve delicious tapas and fresh fish. Pull up a chair on the cobbled streets and enjoy an authentic Spanish dish whilst watching the world pass by.
Tapas are small, tasty dishes usually ordered in 4s or 5s; they’re the perfect size for sharing and for trying different things.
After drinks in The Square, hail a taxi and head to the epic Top Road. If you’re in the mood for dancing then this row of super-clubs will see you through to dawn – most of them are open until 8am. Penelopes and KU Benidorm have been going for years and come highly recommended.
Buying drinks in The Square will be cheaper than in the Top Road clubs themselves.
Shopping in Benidorm
Benidorm’s indoor market is situated on Calle Girona; it’s open every day other than Sunday and is especially popular with tourists, selling a variety of British goods. Exchange holiday money at Sheila’s or find your ideal holiday read at Browse Awhile Bookstore.
Cast members from ITV’s Benidorm are said to shop here whilst filming nearby.
Things to see in Benidorm
Aqualandia was Spain’s first water park and has earned a well-deserved reputation as being fun, safe and clean. There are water rides to suit every age and swimming level, from ‘infantile’ to ‘radical’ attractions. Exciting, relaxing and a great way to cool down on a hot day in the Spanish sun.
Keep the cost of the trip down by bringing your own food and drink, which can be enjoyed in pretty picnic areas.
Amigos Restaurant and Roof Terrace
Amigos Restaurant and Roof Terrace has rave reviews online, with customers praising the friendly staff, excellent food and charming atmosphere. Try the delicious Sangria, said to be the best in Benidorm, or the steak, which is cooked to perfection every time.
On Plaza Constiucion 4, is reasonably priced with fresh cocktails and a fun atmosphere. Take a seat in the sun on the terrace, Mojito in hand, and watch life in Benidorm Old Town pass you by. The owners will make you feel so welcome one visit won’t be enough.
Romeria del Corpus
The Romeria del Corpus is a traditional Andalusian fiesta that happens every year in June. It’s a vibrant, 3 day long festival which sees participants dress in colourful costume and perform dances. There’s usually a fairground and horse processions too.
Aqualandia in Benidorm
A must-visit destination for the family. This thrilling water park is home to a great range of slides and pools. There are some nice grassy areas to relax and eat. Try to buy tickets in advance.

5 lads away for a quiet break
Barrie Elliott, United Kingdom
We originally booked up with this hotel only for our booking to be cancelled due to a no all make group policy, which was strange as there were big groups of lads everywhere in the hotel. We re-booked individually and I am glad we did. The hotel is clean and the rooms spacious with comfortable beds. The pool area isn't fantastic but the waiting and hotel staff were always polite and well mannered and there was a good selection of drinks available to you on the all inclusive package. The food was either bad or excellent, no fine line but the majority of the time you can find something to suit your needs

Great time had by all!
We’re just back from a family holiday if 12 mixed age ranges. The hotel is in a good location. Handy to the strip, market and promenade although the fact that it is surrounded by residential area meant there were limitations to the playing of music during day time. It would suit people looking for quieter hotel. The bar staff were mostly friendly although they treat you nicer after a tip or two. There was a lack of sun beds but we were always able to get a couple. The food was lovely and varied each meal time. The rooms were very spacious and cleaned every day with fresh towels also provided daily. The reception staff were not overly helpful or friendly. We lost a few pairs of sunglasses and a charger went missing from the room and they barely acknowledged us. We paid €27.50 for safety deposit box and got deposit of €17.50 back which I think is an overpriced essential. We also made use of the free spa voucher (sauna/steam room/jacuzzi and indoor pool)not very luxurious but nice for an hour. Overall great time had by all our party.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly holiday makers

Good value for money. Upgraded to superior room. Clean everywhere. Drinks are local spirits and would have nice to be able to upgrade to named spirits. Food what we expected for what we paid, large choice.

4 night weekend
Deano, Beccles suffolk uk
4 men in our earty 50’s we have been coming to benidorm 2 or 3 times a year for the last 14 years . stayed at about 10 different hotels 3/4 stars all central we have favourites but when they become to expensive we look for something new first time here & this hotel the rooms were good for one side gets sun all day the other side no sun we had one each side , Pool area got the sun till late afternoon .we found apart from breakfast the food to be very good . Staff very helpful & friendly . About a 10 min walk to the beach . Reading some previous reviews all the hotels in the central British area this time year will have some stag & hen party’s even if they say they don’t allow them so you can get good & bad behaviour with any hotel that offers drinks all included . On the whole i would not put this my top three but we have stayed in Worse so i would give this hotel 7/10 rating
The best thing about my stay was...We met some nice fellow guests

Will not stay again.
Staff good and helpful, food good, always found something I could eat. Bus stop and Taxi's just outside. However: pool and patio area not cleaned all day - got very dirty, very small pools and lack of sunbeds, too many hen and stag - youth groups drunk, swearing and shouting all day when kids were about. No sun on many balconies at any time of day, ( had room 317) no drying facility on balcony for wet swim clothes or a light. Room ok, but very dark, only 2 very small ceiling lights and bedside lights, making it difficult to read etc. Have to pay for wi-fi through a machine in reception, which is nothing to do with the hotel if there is a problem. Entertainment in the evening poor, not very well managed, only one night with female singer was good. I found the hotel too noisy and not at all as if appears on the website. Don't mind lively and a bit noisy, but not when its groups of drunks.

13 of us stayed at the Dynastic in May and, we all enjoyed our stay that much, that we are looking to book again next year. Food was very good and, the rooms were clean, with clean towels daily.
The best thing about my stay was...The food was good for the price of the cost of the stay.
