We arrived into Rome FCO and took a taxi to the hotel which costs approx 35-45 euros. The hotel was very clean and we were greeted by a very friendly lady on the front desk. Upon checking our ID (passports) the lady wished my partner a happy birthday which was very thoughtful. Check in was swift, personable and informative. We signed up for the hotel rewards card and received complimentary internet and late check out (2pm instead of 12). Our room was clean and fresh. Plenty of wardrobe space, king size bed, good quality linen and balcony. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but adequate and most importantly clean! The facilities in the hotel were excellent, a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool, spa and gym. The breakfast was always welcoming and the staff friendly and personable. The food was fresh and tasted good. I would like more of a selection of hot food, such as an omelette. We ate at the poolside bar and the food was great and the service impeccable. We were the only customers eating and the lady was so attentive, taking time to ask how our holiday was going and wishing us an enjoyable stay. There aren't any negatives I can comment on from this visit. We did visit the restaurant outside the hotel to the right which wasn't a great experience. Very busy, poor customer service. Food was nothing special. The hotel isn't far from the centre of the city. A taxi cost 13-15 euros which we didn't mind paying. There are cheaper alternative ways to get into the city ie. shuttle bus, public transport which were all offered to us by the front desk.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff remembered our names every time we went to the front desk. The spa is amazing!

On arrival at reception whilst checking in , my husband was reminded that he had a birthday soon! The hotel gave us an upgrade to a room facing pool and king size bed. The room is very spacious , had a desk nice comfy chair a large TV and a very comfy bed. When we went to breakfast the manager ( Veronica ) wished my husband a happy birthday, arrange a birthday cake with candle and gave us some sparkling bubbly to start our day. Veronica was very attentive, she was always calm even under pressure , she is a great asset to Crowne Plaza. We also had a bottle of prosecco when we returned to our room in the evening. The reception staff were very pleasant and great to get information from. Although hotel may seem a bit away from the attractions you can get hitel b Hustle bus for 1.50 euro at specific times or local bus for 1.50 euro and it covers you for metro as well which gets you to all the sites. The pool at hotel was kept clean as did the whole hotel. I couldn't fault the crowne hotel. The hotel also offer a shuttle bus to airport for 14 euro which was a great service to airport. We had mini bus to ourselves!
The best thing about my stay was...The staff were excellent all round and pool to relax in after a day of site seeing.

Weekend away with my husband
Room was big, two double beds, clean. Breakfast was superb. Loads of choice could eat as much as you wanted. Was a return visit as it was good the last time. The whole standard of the hotel and general ambience remained lovely. However staff on the desk when on the mobile left the guest as a spare part rather than a valued customer.
The best thing about my stay was...Breakfast and the location of the hotel on a bus route to St Peters

Not long enough in Rome
Deborah Brown, Nottingham
Because we chose to visit Rome in August we looked for a hotel with a pool. So glad we did. Enjoyed our stay. Pool lovely, food nice and staff helpful. The location could be an issue but we found the shuttle bus very useful. As the shuttle bus only ran several times a day we found public transport useful. The bus number 881 took you to the vatican. To get to the colosseum get a 881 and change at the terminus on to a bus for piazza Venezia. If the hotel were to have some timetables for the buses that would be useful. Just a note...Over 65's from the EU do not pay for the colosseum so take some id.

four days in Rome
Frank Coton, Dumbarton
This is an OK hotel for a short break in Rome. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a fairly basic buffet but OK. In terms of overall standard, I would rate this hotel as a medium quality tourist hotel. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel so, if you have a three day tourist pass for the bus and Metro, you can get around very easily. Now for the not so good aspects of the hotel. There is not much around the hotel. There is only one, quite good, restaurant within easy walking distance. The reception desk can be chaotic. It is divided into Cashier, Concierge and Reception and it is not always clear which part of the desk to approach to do what. If you get it wrong, you are sent to another part of the desk. The worst part of the hotel is the service at the pool bar. We clocked up one hour, twenty minutes for a drink and an insalata caprese. Most of the time was the waiting for the salad to arrive. At one point, after waiting 30 mins, my wife reminded the waitress that we were waiting for the salad. The waitress said "I know" and shrugged her shoulders. I guess this was a somewhat less helpful response than we expected. The pool is extremely crowded. Getting a lounger can be near on impossible, especially on afternoons when a cruise party comes in. The hotel seems to have a regular stream of groups coming and going to cruise ships. If, like we were, you are looking for a clean, comfortable, relatively inexpensive hotel for a short break in Rome, then this is a pretty good choice. If you want something more, this is probably not for you.
The best thing about my stay was...comfortable bed

Nice hotel, out of the way and quiet when needed
Daniel Walsh, Coventry
Would definitely recommend, very nice hotel. Only down side was it was out of the way. Bus fare only a euro each way but getting back at night taxis are quite expensive.
The best thing about my stay was...The bed.

lovely hotel, quiet but near Rome
Jan & Todd, Shropshire
We stayed for our first trip to Rome. Rooms were large and the bed was huge and comfy. Excellent breakfast. Complimentary bus service to capital was really good and regular. Staff all speak excellent English and are very helpful. Nice and quiet to sleep but lots of different nationalities to speak to around the bar etc. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The best thing about my stay was...Comfy 6'6''x6'6'' bed and breakfast set us up until teatime.
