very enjoyable holiday, good value.
The best thing about my stay was...lovely, friendly place with beautiful beaches
04 April 2015
U. Kiefer, London
Good food, clean room, close to beach, helpful staff. We feel we got value for our money. The central square with the pools and many beautiful palm trees feels sheltered and luxurious. The landscape around El Cotillo is desert-like and we loved the way the streets of the town turn to dusty roads as soon as they reach the outskirts; add some tumble weeds and you'd be in a Western! The beaches are beautiful (but windy while we were there). The hotel gave us a great base to live in while experiencing this exciting natural island - and it was lovely to have such a vast choice of salads or cooked, meaty or vegetarian food and fish everyday. It felt like the staff were making an effort, and we appreciated it. If the pool would have been heated, we could have made more use of it - but in a 3-star hotel ? - maybe not. A door handle falling off our bathroom door, reported but not being repaired during our stay didn't detract from our positive experience in any way. The room itself was of a good size, with a lovely balcony with a sea view. For our three-year old the hotel's small playground and "mini club" play room came in handy. All in all, we came back a thousand times more relaxed and would easily have stayed there a few more weeks . . .
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly and helpful staff. The food.

If you are looking for a chilled out place to stay- that's the prefect one. 5 minuts walking to the amazing beach. All inclusive option its good to take - different selection of food. Local drinks at the bar till 11. Staff are super friendly here - always smile on the face which make you feel welcome. Big thanks to Pedro at the reception for all the directions. Rooms are good size and everyone it's so helpful if you need anything. Will come back

Room with a view
Helen, York, Yorkshire
I booked this hotel for my Mum in Law and she loved it. She got a sea view room and spent most of her days on the balcony just taking it all in. I booked her all inclusive and she found something nice to eat everyday. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the room was spotless. The hotel is close to everything so it was really easy for her to get around El Cotillo.
The best thing about my stay was...The view from the balcony

Brilliant for the price
Ralph A, Mansfield Notts. England
Good hotel, friendly staff with nice comfortable room. Can't understand the criticism of the food, ' for the price just What do people expect?' I agree that hot plates could be better but on the whole a good selection. There wasn't anything that I disliked about this hotel and will definitely go again. Saying that there was one small grumble, the women who seemed to be in charge of the hotel night time bar next door seemed to be more interested in talking than serving customers. If she was talking to someone you could stand there for ever ,totally invisible to her while she chatted and laughed. I ve no problem with bar staff talking and having a laugh but not while people are waiting to be served. In contrast to this the young barman works his' socks off and carries her. I don't like criticising people but she really does need to waken her' ideas up. Apart from her the rest of the staff are really hard working and brilliant. Ralph
The best thing about my stay was...The whole holiday.

Reasons NOT to go All Inclusive!!
dave , northampton
Just came back today after spending 2 weeks at half board at Cotillo Beach. First the good points: Staff=excellent...Pool=excellent...Location=excellent. And thats where it ends!! I checked into the hotel, and was immediately offered an upgrade to "All Inclusive"...for an extra £38 for 2 weeks!! This took me by surprise,to say the least, and for one fleeting moment,I was tempted to say "Yes"! Thank god i didn't take them up on their offer!! The food bordered on inedible, and we were certainly not alone in our criticism! Various folk, from different nationalities were just as critical. Here is my review of the 3 daily meals: Breakfast..possibly the ONLY edible meal of the day, which consisted of a selection of fruit, cereals, and a "cooked" version! I say cooked, when you view the scrambled egg (even at the beginning!) you wonder how there is not an outbreak of Salmonella!! The so called,"Hot plates" were just about luke warm, then we move on to the "Bacon"..or "Belly Pork" as it resembles! Cold, hardly any meat content, and smells disgusting!! Or you can try the "Sausages",if you like the tins of small hot dog version, your laughing!! And that is the best meal of the day!! Plenty of coffee and juices, which was a good point, the rest..dross!! Lunch: Consists of the same sausages, some bigger tinned sausages, horse burgers, and chips!!..oh and dry, rock hard, bread rolls!! And now we come to the piece de resistance..Dinner!! Its hard to describe it,without feeling the urge to vomit! A selection of cold Pasta, disgusting meat stew, and rice! Occasionally,if you can catch the "alleged Chef's" eye,you can get a version of steak..which is like consuming best shoe leather!! All in all,the food is very poor, and thank god we ate out every night apart from one!! Now the "All Inclusive" drinks..ha ha ha ha ha...tiny little plastic cups (max 2 per person!) Weak beer, watered down spirits,..say no more!! The rooms are basic, but clean..and NO air con!! And no tea and coffee facilities! Reception staff and cleaners, were brilliant, and thats it!! Would I return...NEVER!!!!!

We will be back
William Mitchell, Dumfries
An excellent welcome with friendly staff. Our special requests had been fulfilled. Our room was better than average. The buffet food was fresh and tasty with plenty of variety everyday. It would have been nice to have glasses in the bar rather than plastic cups, but that is not going to spoil a holiday
The best thing about my stay was...It was all equally good

Another great stay..!
Kelvin Mcdonald, Bury St Edmunds
We have stayed at Cotillo Beach several times and will stay again later in the year. The hotel is set a quite area of the island with beautiful white sandy lagoon beach’s only a few minutes walk away, the hotel has a lovely big pool (not heated) with ample sun loungers set around it. The hotel is clean, tidy and in good repair, the food in the restaurant is good quality and varied, there is always a good salad bar and several choices of hot food, the only thing that lets it down is the limited range of deserts. The staff are very friendly even though they always seem so busy. There is also an onsite entertainer running activities throughout the day. If you are looking for a good value hotel for a relaxing break this is the place to be, likewise if you are looking for hotel to use as a base in the north of the island we would highly recommend the Cotillo Beach...
The best thing about my stay was...Great Location, Great Staff, Quite Area,
