Bon Repose...where to start?
J Parsons, West Wales
Let's start with the positive, the Hotel is in a lovely location, about 400 metres from a beautiful beach with a good few beach bars and a similar distance from endless shops and bars. The Bon Repos was a decent hotel, the staff were absolutely superb, ever ready to help or give advice. The rooms were adequate but dated, they were kept very clean and towels were changed daily, no maids days off here. The pool area was spacious, plenty of tables, chairs and sunbeds for all. The two lifts were quite small but having said that we never had to wait long for one. Now the negative and in my view it is quite a big one, the food.... I have never known a hotel restaurant run out of sausages and bacon 30 minutes before the end of service, I can understand that waste needs to be kept to a minimum but people were coming in for breakfast at 9.30 and were left with eggs, black pudding, churos and bizzarely spring rolls as the hot option, not quite what you expect. As we were always down early it didn't affect us but there were a lot of people left with cereal and the salad bar for their meal. Only twice in our stay were baked beans available which is generally a breakfast staple. Evening meals were hit and miss some evenings the meals were very good but other nights it was poor to be kind.
The best thing about my stay was...Location

Shame about the food
marc roach, United Kingdom
Nice hotel, entrance and reception are nice as is the restaurant dining room. The rooms are what you'd expect if a little on the small side. But the real downside is the food, it really not good at all unless you want pizza, chips or a beef burger every day.
The best thing about my stay was...The ladies on reception were very helpful, Always plenty of sunbeds and isobel and the 2 lad's behind the bar were great.

Cheap and cheerful
Lovely clean hotel and room. Staff friendly. Breakfast and lunch excellent, disappointed with evening meal selection and quality. Hotel and surrounding hotel very noisy with sporty teenagers. Good value for the price we paid.
The best thing about my stay was...Cleanliness, friendly staff

Better than last year
Peter Hirst, Bedfordshire
The food this year was certainly better than last year at Bon Repos. The hotel was again full of sporty youngsters, so not much hope of quiet, or use of WiFi in the evening. However, I did enjoy my stay because of the friendliness and good catering at a very reasonable price.
The best thing about my stay was...The wonderful Catalan buffet meals and good WiFi in the early morning.

six. the rooms were clean. but need updating..shower and bath very old in our room.
Marjorie Scally, Greystones, Co. Wicklow., Ireland.
bath very old and stained. and shower very old but room was cleaned every day. expect for 1 day..they forgot...we could hear aot of furniture being moved around at night and could hear the shower etc in the next room...the oool could do with and update. Must say the Breakfast was excellent...so for what we paid it was good value...but went inot the Mar Bleu and The Hotel President also 3 Stars and they were much nicer....
The best thing about my stay was...The hotel was very central...easy to get around. Hospital only 20 minutes walk away. my friend was sick and we had to go.they were very good but had to wait for about 5 hours. but same as hospital every where.

dont listen to previous reviews! Hotel is clean staff really nice and helpfull, we got there and were checked in in minuets. Pool area is lovely and the entertainment crew work 16 hr days keeping the kids occupied. the food is what you expect for a 3star cheap holiday but theres always something you could choose, the pool bar food is spot on tho made fresh and to order. its a short walk to a beautiful beach, which is well worth a look. all in all a good hotel for the price, couldnt complain, if you want al a carte food go 4* and pay for it.. we didnt have any of the horrors form previous reviews no big queues at the bar or to enter the dining area, the walls a thin but didnt disturb my sleep. I would reccommend this for a cheap getaway

cheap, and cheerful budget accomodation
Have just returned from the Bon Repos. The hotel itself is a typical 3 star all inclusive hotel, understaffed in the bars.....resulting in overworked therefore sometimes rude staff.......dated but clean rooms, on the small side, but with paper thin walls. we were unfortunate enough to be next to a very rowdy couple, shouting and screamimg at 4 in the morning. When we asked to be moved, were told no room. Our slip of paper given at the time of checking in, with the room number etc on had been tippexd over, so looked as though someone had already been moved out of the noisy room, into our allocated room, leaving us with no choice but to put up with the noise from the stairs, neighbours etc etc. Not impressed with that ar all. The food was just ok, you could make a meal, but the meats were all budget cuts, breakfast was often cold, and dont leave it til nine for breakfast, you will queue after the mad rush for the sunbeds at 9 on the dot. the position of the hotel is quite good, just a short walk to the beach and shops etc, and the pool is nice. The kids club was good when it was functioning, although advertised on the entertainment board, they seemed to have their own rules, and just wouldnt turn up. The entertainment at night was also a bit hit and miss, with the likes of a man and an organ in the lobby....(no designated stage area, just an area near the bar with a few tables and chairs.) All in all, as I say, you get what you pay for, but I wouldnt choose to stay at this hotel again.
