Snap Happy: 5 Inspiring Instagram Accounts To Follow

7

We all love a holiday snap to look back on. That one where your partner spent too long in the sun and is collapsed on the couch in the hotel room, red faced, and stinging. The one of the huge glass of sangria which saw your friend get a little tipsy. Maybe even your child’s first sandcastle.

They’re memories which last forever. But they’re also quite inspiring too. See an image of Venice and you can’t help but want to go. See one of Paris and you’re already picturing sharing a kiss under the Eiffel Tower. And with social media so prominent, it’s never been easier to take a sneak peek at some amazing destinations.

Naturally, Instagram is the go to network, and you obviously can’t go wrong with a travel photographer either. So at alpharooms we’ve gone out of our way to find 10 of the most awesome Instagram accounts for you to follow, and believe us, you’ll enjoy clicking through their images as much as we did…

Expertvagabond

Greenland’s arctic tundra is covered in thick, colorful peat moss. It feels like you’re walking on a mattress! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #Greenland #ArcticCircleTrail

Starting with the more adventurous, expertvagabond takes his phone out to some of the most exciting places across the world, from the glaciers of Greenland, to the Philippines, to the beautiful Irish countryside.

The account has some of the most incredible images from some of the most incredible places, and is well worth following, just ask the 33,000 that do.

Kirstenalana

During an informal brewery tour with @OttawaTourism, we stopped in at @clocktowerbrewpub where their Pumpkin beer was a huge hit. After it’s in the glass, they add a little spice to the top for an extra shot of flavor and it really makes their version of this typical autumn brew, deliciously unusual if not actually unique. We also tried all their other beers on tap and found out the hard way that their flights are probably best shared with a friend, if you’re going to other breweries in the same day. It’s a lot of, very delicious, beer for just one person! Clocktower is just one of the many fantastic breweries in Ottawa. I was so impressed by their craft beer culture. @TravelandLeisure #ExploreCanada #sp

One of the great things about going on holiday is the food and drink. Whether it be a tour through India or a holiday to Greece, it’s a chance to indulge and enjoy yourself without the worries of the usually dreaded calories.

Kirsten Alana’s Instagram account focuses a lot on trendy little bistros, coffee houses, and cafes across the world as well as plenty of other awe-inspiring shots.

#Santorini on FIRE! What a magical place — you hear so much about it, but it’s worth the hype. Really the most photogenic place I have ever been. Believe me, Istanbul and Paris and South Africa’s coastline are photogenic, but Santorini blows them all out of the water. God, I love this island. Best place in the world for a #sunset. 👻 Snapchat – adventurouskate

Kate McCulley has been travelling for the best part of five years and has discovered around 60 different countries. The images above captures Santorini perfectly and showcases just how stunning her eye for a good photo really is.

It’s certainly got us wanting to visit.

Welcome to Colombian coffee country – Quindio Department in the shadow of the eastern spine of the Andes. Loads of colorful haciendas, a look behind the coffee production curtain and a full -blown coffee tasting that covers fragrance, aroma (turns out there are 36 of them) and flavor separation. Colombia is third in the world for coffee production, but 36th in per capita consumption (Finland is #1). Only day one of our @gadventures Colombia experience.

Daniel Noll certainly doesn’t take in Santorini, preferring instead to fly to all four corners of the world. He’s discovered Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa, posting some fascinating images along the way.

Currently in Italy, it’s an account whose posts really are bellissimo.

Setting off on an adventure isn’t always as easy as booking a flight and packing your bags – following your dreams takes courage and if you need that extra push to “just go” and create the life you’ve always wanted but were afraid to reach out for, then you’re in for a treat ! My gorgeous friend @glographics has released her first ebook, “From Excuses to Excursions: How I Started #Traveling the World”. If you want to find out about her journey of going from an exchange student to a full-time travel blogger, roaming the world as if it was her playground, AND learn how you can do the same, then preorder here: http://TheBlogAbroad.com/ebook 📖🌏💙

If there’s one thing about a_girlwhotravels’ Instagram account, it’s that it encourages you to get away yourself. And you don’t have to tell us twice, even if it’s going it alone like Martha.

Giving up her office job in 2010, she’s travelled the world and written an entertaining blog to go with it. We’ve got our bags packed and ready to go. It’s just the matter of where…
