Benidorm has long been a favourite for us holidaymakers. For over 40 years it’s been a sun-kissed haven for us to escape the day-to-day trudge and enjoy the beautiful Spanish landscape, and of course, pristine white beaches.
The former fishing town has become awash with generations flocking to the holiday hotspot, so much so that it is cited as the birthplace of the package holiday. But whilst going all-inclusive may save some money, allow you to feast all day as the sun beats down, and have all you want without having to walk more than a few yards, you will miss out on the mouth-watering cuisine Benidorm has to offer.

- Amigos Bistro by Nas & Dino
Amigos has fast become a firm favourite in Benidorm, offering a varied menu sampling everything from hearty homely meals such as lasagne to tapas, Amigos style.
Located at the quieter end of the seafront on Avenida de la Armada Espanola, around a few kilometres from the town centre, Amigos matches great food with some of the finest cocktails in Benidorm, and all at a reasonable cost.
You’d be hard pushed to find a restaurant with as many rave reviews as Paradiso. Only recently refurbished and taken over by two Dutch men, the eatery, just a stone’s throw from the Servigroup Nereo, specialises in steaks, and has plenty of entertainment to see you through an evening.
Its continual reference by customers as paradise makes it a must do in the town, and with such an excellent menu, you may be back again for more.

Fancy tucking in to a succlent chunk of Filet Au Poivre?
Transporting a traditional Parisian bistro to the neon lit streets of Benidorm couldn’t have been easy, but The Vagabond does it with consummate ease. Located in the heart of the town on Calle la Palma, it’s a small, cosy venue that offers up homely food at reasonable prices.

A staple for all pizza lovers in Beni, Pizzeria L’Originale has quite incredible pizza’s that will make you think you’re on the streets of Naples rather than just off Avinguda Alcoi. Cooking up fresh pasta and pizza, the owner shares his huge passion for Italian cuisine and his enthusiasm shines through in his dishes. The joint itself may look a little modest, but the food itself is far from it.

It’s often quoted as one of the best in the town, and what you save on cheap holidays to Benidorm; you should spend in this luxurious eatery. The menu offers a range of seafood specialities, alongside a fine selection of homemade desserts which are must tries; and all away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
- Arroceria – Cafeteria Endavant
Arroceria Endavant is a true taste of the Mediterranean, serving up fish in a town which in which the industry was once its lifeblood. It’s an interesting restaurant, split into two sections: one offering more café style dining and the other the seafood specialities complimented by Mediterranean inspired vegetables and rice.

In a town which is often overtaken by tourists, Casa Toni is just about as Spanish as you can get in Benidorm.
Hugely popular with locals, the cuisine is inspired by Andaluz heritage, with a menu brimming with seafood and exquisite meats. From the outside it looks incredibly welcoming, and inside it lives up to that promise. If you want a traditional Spanish meal, this is your place.

The Hotel Agir has gained quite a reputation as a first-class hotel in Benidorm, and what it offers in luxury in their rooms it backs up in their restaurant.
Overlooking Levante beach, chef Paco Tellez is one of the most renowned in the region and serves up a superb a la carte menu to compliment the even better view. Mostly serving Spanish cuisine, it’s a real touch of class, and a must visit during your stay.
Another Benidorm restaurant producing truly divine tapas is Taita at the heart of Calle Primavera.
Laid back and friendly, the modern outlay offers the perfect break from the busy town centre and uses the freshest ingredients to produce delicious food. The grilled platter coal paprika is one of the restaurant’s centrepieces and it’s all topped off with a wine list would make even the King fill with envy.

There’s perhaps not a finer location to eat in Benidorm than at the Barranco Playa on the Mediterranean seafront.
