The iconic Burj El Arab is another of the city’s top hotels to be found at Dubai’s beautiful beach, and represents a billowing sail. Widely described as the world’s first 7 star hotel, (although officially rated a 5* deluxe) this hotel really is the definition of luxury as guests can enjoy swimming pools, sports and spas. An interesting piece of trivia is that Tiger Woods famously hit golf balls from the hotel’s rooftop helipad into the sea, and tennis players Andre Agassi and Roger Federa have both practiced tennis here.

Jumeirah Beach HotelThe 26 story Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a stunning landmark by Jumeirah beach with 22 restaurants, a shopping arcade and even a hairdressing salon. This wave shape hotel compliments the sail of the Burj El Arab, and when it was built in 1997 was Dubai’s 9th tallest building. Today however it is ranked at less than 100. Stay here for one of the best sea views in the world and to enjoy unlimited access to the Wild Wadi Waterpark next door.

Set amongst 35,000 square metres of gardens and adjascent to the Emirates Golf Club and Mongomerie Dubai golf course, the Ritz Carlton Hotel is the perfect hotel for golf lovers, as well as active holidaymakers who want to take advantage of the hotel’s squash courts, tennis courts and fitness center.

For a little taste of the unusual try staying at the Atlantis hotel on the world’s largest manmade island, The Palm Jumeirah. With development commencing in 2001, it was 7 years before this palm leaf shaped  island welcomed the opening of the Atlantis, and boy, did it open with a bang! One million fireworks made the £13.5 million opening ceremony of the hotel the world’s largest fireworks display. Not content with having its own theme waterpark, the hotel also has a huge retail space, conference center and Dolphin Bay where guests are able to swim and interact with dolphins.
