Look beyond the hotel
This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel, and will go no where else in Sharm. Yes it's tired, and needs some maintenance, and has other issues but the welcome from the staff more than makes up for the minus points. It's always sad to leave however we know it's never too long until we go back. Your holiday is what you make it, the basics are there for you - the rest is for you to make.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff

Good Value for all the Basics
Katie Moore, Mayfield
My partner and I stayed here for a week. We upgraded from half board to all inclusive when we got there. The food is a little repetitive as the buffet is generally the same every day, with a few minor alterations, but it is cheap enough to eat out when you want some variety. The rooms are basic, but clean with plenty of fresh towels (left in a different arrangement eg a swan/flower etc on the bed every other day!). The staff are very helpful and friendly, and always at hand for anything you need. The reception staff are particularly helpful and can advise on where to go and how to get there. There is a shuttle bus to the beach at particular times, but the taxis are cheap (around £2 or£3) and can be arranged by the staff to suit your times. The manager; Korim, was particularly helpful, and ensures the place runs smoothly and that everyone is enjoying their stay. A geat little hotel, with a small, friendly atmosphere. There is a little shopping area (El Mercato) with a few bars/cafes within 3-4 minute walk from the hotel (turn right out the hotel, then down the dirt track on the right labelled El Mercato). This was nice and near and much more relaxing than the hassle you get in Naama Bay centre. (Visist the tea/herb shop as you go in turn left and the shop; Karkade, is on the right there by the supermarket. The owner gives expert advice and may even srve you a bedouine tea as you browse!)

worst food ever
Hotel is run down & run on a day to day basis. for an A/I they had no toinc ran out of diet coke 3 times in 2 weeks & were without it for a few days each time. The sheets on the beds are all old & pilled up, not very nice to sleep on. The place could do with a complete clean up of all areas. The food was same every meal & mostly cold, rice pes or beans in tomamto sauce, veg selection, potatoes, either mash, wedges, or sliced, fish in sauce, mostly undercooked & either chicken or beef in gunge. There are 100 rooms, so basicly 200 people & only 50 sunbeds. People were getting up at 5am to reserve beds. This is my 3rd time in Sharm, but would never go back to this hotel

We were at hotel in October...after initall problems re air conditioning we were delighted to find that over next 10 days , Hotel was greatly improved. What we didnt, know at the time is that there were conferences all over Sharm, and many Hotels were used. when conference ended the improvement in Hotel was amazing !!! The staff are unfailingly polite and friendly and will do anything asked within reason. if you treat them with respect, you will be given it back in spades. we are still in touch with many of them and can hardly wait to get back there. We have been told that there have been many improvements as hotel has been taken over by another company, so we shall be interested to see what has happened. if you want a good holiday, with no hassle, good food and service, then this is the place for you. although the people love kids, this is NOT the place for children..no built in entertainment for kids except the pool and as sun sets early compared to here, pool is deserted by 4.30pm. the very few kids who were there were bored rigid and began to make nuisances of themselves, which did not go down well with anyone. There are other hotels which cater for families with kids and some of those are splendid.. hope this helps

if your looking for a hotel with the WOW factor then dont come here. But it is nice enough - and when on holiday - you dont spend all day in the hotel - you venture out so with a hotel dont splash out - if its clean and nice like this one - its good enough. they clean your rooms everyday with fresh towels which is good. the cleaner even made creative shapes of of the towels - which was exciting to come back to everyday! the pool is freezing and you have to be very brave to go in! and it looks so pretty! - but a public beach is 2mins away and the shuttle picks you up to go there every hour of everyday and thats free. the staff are friendly and reception is helpful. we went B&B and the breakfast was the same everyday - but 'alright' food like omelettes, pancakes, cakes and do it yourself toast... it is a nicely situated hotel as it is close to Naama bay - the main shopping town, food, etc, it is near to Old Sharm -markets,restaurants, etc and other places. And to get around is very cheap - £2 to get pretty much anywhere! always go in the BLUE and WHITE taxis - trusted ones. I rate Badawia as 3/5 but it wasn't horrid - just basic. Loved it out there (went from 13-19th December - and weather was scorching!! nice tan!) Definately go... we met people out there and other nice hotels were - the Savoy and Golden Sharm. Hope this has helped!
