Review of 'ARISTON'

Travelling as a group of 3, our main priority was finding affordable accommodations that were still comfortable, safe and close the city center. The ARISTON hotel meet our needs. We had a spacious room that was large enough for us, all our bags and not feel cramped. Our private bathroom was long and narrow. There wasn't a lot of room for storing anything in there (toiletries), but it was functional.

We were about a 7-minute walk to the Duomo and the heart of the city’s tourist area. The hotel staff was helpful in recommending good, nearby restaurants and trattorias, where the food and service were pleasant. They were also very generous in helping us get our bags to the 3rd floor, as there wasn’t a lift in the building, and ready to offer a coffee to tired travelers. The housekeeping staff did a good job of keeping the room tidy and inviting.

Parking near the hotel is difficult and costly. The parking space available to non-residents runs about 25 Euro a day, with no-by-the hour parking options. If you have not driven in Florence, be prepared to have a very detailed street map, defined route and count the blocks to each turn. The signs are difficult to read, and the side streets are incredibly narrow.

All in all, it was a wonderful stay, and would recommend it to the budget-minded traveler.
