Good but a couple of things meant it was not excellent. Did not mind at all that the majority of people there were German but the beach towels on the unused (for most of the day) sun loungers did start to annoy quite a bit, as we could not get any to even sit on for a brief time (2 young children, so did not need them for long!). We were put in a room right by the outdoor speakers for the night time entertainment, asked to move when we arrived but was told hotel full. One night it was so loud I had to complain, just to be told the hotel is an entertainment hotel. With 2 kids trying to sleep and some bad music blaring out at 11pm though, this was not our idea of entertainment. That said we had a great time here, cannot fault the cleanliness of the facilities and friendly staff. Especially Bogna who works in the kids club, she works all hours making sure the kids have a great time.
The best thing about my stay was...Facilities and friendly staff

If only they could control the weather
Just back from a week in the Eden Playa, as always everything about the complex was great, Spotless hotel, great cleaning service, decent food, clean pools and very helpful staff. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss, some nights good, some nights not so good but thats the norm everywhere. I hadn't been there in two years but noticed very little difference to how the hotel and local shops, restaurants were run, prices may even be down a bit, however there seems to be a lot of shops / restaurants closed down in the surrounding areas, must be a sign of the times, our hotel seemed quite busy ( a good sign) but a number of the other hotels were dead. The weather was quite dissappointing with a few hours rain every day.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything about the hotel

Great location for a quiet, relaxing family holiday
We stayed here self catering at the end of April 2011 and although the weather wasn't great we still managed a few days on the beach with the kids. The 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and very clean and maid service operated every day. The cooking facilities were basic (2 hobs and a microwave) and we took our own travel kettle otherwise you have to hire one from the hotel. The hair dryer in the bathroom was no very powerful so wife was pleased she had brought her own. The hotel has good facilities on site with a couple of swimming pools, snack bars, restaurants etc, and a nice enclosed kids play area, but the best thing is that you are never more than 2 minutes from the beach. The beach stretches for miles. Sun beds are available at 15 euro's a day, but we opted for towels. The beach and sea are clean and ideal for small children as the sea doesn't go above 2 feet deep for about 40 metres out. The water is a deep bluey-green and sand ideal for sandcastles! There was a sand artist making sculptres on the beach on 2 days we were there. One thing you should be aware of is this hotel, and most in the playa de muro hotels are predominantly occupied by German and Scandinavians. This means most of the entertainment was in German which was difficut for the english speaking kids especially in the miniclub. The hotel's entertainment is mixed with some great live shows on some nights and bingo and a quiz on others. The latter not very good if you cannot understand German. We discovered the Alcudia Pins (just a short walk down the road) had english speaking entertainment so we spent most nights there. Great circus performer who did magic, juggling and spent the rest of the nights making baloon animals for the kids. The compares (one being english) were good and created a good atmosphere and a singing quartet did some great shows. Most of the entertainment in Muro finishes about 10pm, so if you want a late night you'll have to venture into Alcudia. For families with small children, this was ideal as it was very quiet around the resort after 11pm when most people were in their rooms. We never tried the food at the hotel but the Portobello restaurant across the road is very good and reasonably priced for an italian. The drinks at the hotel and alcudia pins we also reasonable, about 6 euro's for a pint of beer and a glass of wine. Watchout for the price of the kids drinks though, 2.50 euro for orange juice, which is not even fresh!! Playa de Muro is a little remote but a good bus service gets you to Can Picafort and Alcudia for about 1.5 euro's. Taxi's are about 6-8 euro's each way. There is a small arcade just across the road which keeps the kids quiet for a few hours and pony rides at 5 euro's for about 5 minutes. There are a few small supermarkets near the hotel, the best being the one at Alcudia Pins. However, they do not have fresh meat or fish so cooking fresh meals is difficult. Overall the hotel was very good, staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel and location for those with young families who don't want to venture too far from the hotel. The all inclusive may be better vaue if you don't want to cook for yourself.
The best thing about my stay was...Right on the beach

Fantastic place, could not say a bad word about it. Staff, apartments, facilities all suberb. Excellent entertainment for children and adults. The majority of guests are German and even though we do not speak a word it did not affect our holiday in any way. Direct access to a beautiful beach too..an added bonus. Would recommend this place to anyone without any hesitation. We have gone back 2 yrs in a row.

GREAT HOTEL april 09 visit self catering basis
Mrs Green, UK
located right on the beach in a sheltered position the situation cant be faulted. its a quiet strip between can picanfort and alcudia on a parallel road to the main road so little traffic and safe. all the facilities you might need are right there, food, showers, pools, bar, kids club, tennis (additional fee) etc. the apartments are spacious and very clean with great sea views or pool views. the pools are lovely and clean with lots of sun beds surrounding them with shaded areas and gardens. the self catering is basic, just two electric rings and a microwave, a fridge, crockery and utensils but ok for a light breakfast or lunch or warming baby milk. this is certainly a place to relax. the food is good although in the main restaraunt it could be hotter. you can pay for your meals on a daily basis if you wish, all the on site dining accepts credit card or cash. the hotel had a food deal running during our stay and let our youngest child (8) eat for free. the whole place is very clean and well run, the staff being attentive but invisible. there are buses regularly into alcudia and there is a water taxi over the sea from the hotel front to alcudia bay. the national park is 0.5K away and easily accessible on foot. if you hire a car (which you can do at the hotel) there is ample parking around the hotel. you can also hire mountain bikes directly from the hotel, also a kettle or toaster.there are places to eat close by and a small amusement arcade across the street which closes around 7pm. price wise, the cost of food and petrol is about the same as the uk (as at april 09) so not a cheap break other than the accommodation price via alpharooms. we had no problems whatsoever with our booking and all the travel arrangements went smoothly. we would definately revisit the hotel and have used alpharooms in the past and will again in the future.

Review of 'APARTHOTEL EDEN PLAYA'
Andrew Stitson, The Netherlands
Having stayed at the Eden Playa in 2005 we are returning again in 2006. A lovely apartment/hotel complex centred around beautifully maintained gardens. An ideal venue for families with young children as the pools are safe and clean and the beach is only a short stroll. The sea is shallow, non tidal, clean and (most importantly to me) warm! so ideal for young and old alike.

Service throughout was excellent and there are several restaurants just outside the complex so you can sample a different menu/atmosphere without having to travel far.

My only down comment on the location was the limited or rather poor cash point facilities in the immediate vicinity. On a few occasions I had to hire a bike and ride to a nearby town/shopping parade simply to draw cash from an ATM. Still this is not the fault of the hotel.
