Apartamentos THe Koala Garden is the ideal choice for families and couples looking for self catering accommodation with numerous on site amenities in the popular resort of Maspalomas. The complex is divided into 5 areas, each with their own swimming pools and sun terraces with sun beds set within palm tree lined gardens. The studios and one bedroom apartments are bright & spacious and are well equipped for a self catering holiday, although Bed & Breakfast and Half Board is also available at an optional supplement with meals served in the main buffet style restaurant. The Koala Garden has a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere although there is always plenty going on with the full daytime & evening entertainment.
we would like to inform you that after the renovation works completed in The Koala Garden in 2017, the establishment has been divided into two independent areas, on the one side the Hotel The Koala Garden (zones 1, 2 and 3) and on the other side the Apts. The Koala Garden(zones 4 and 5). From now on all clients that book an apartment will not have access neither to the hotel area nor to the services offered in it.

Not as described online
Gemma , Nottingham uk
The hotel doesn't have the facilities it shows online, no games room, no sports area, no sauna or gym and rooms do not look the same as the pics online. The whole hotel is very old and dirty in desperate need of a revamp. The room smelt so bad mainly the kitchen area. The kids club was only on for a couple of hours a day and the reps working in it did best to discourage the children from going in. The pool area was quite nice and luckily was very close to a fun fair otherwise my child would of been even more bored.
The best thing about my stay was...Pool area

Better Than Expected
we don't normally book anything unless it has 4 plus rating on trip advisor and normally a 4star plus accommodation. We booked this as friends had already booked and we wanted to all holiday together - reading the reviews I was dreading it (there was 11 of us al together - ages 3 - 9 and 15 and 3 lots of couples) - here is my honest review Check in Our room was not ready when we arrived so we was advised to pop to the snack bar for a drink and snack and to come back in about 40 minutes. Some of the reception staff speak limited English but after 40 minutes we managed to check in - the complex is spread over 6 areas and there are little maps of each zone and big maps of all zones in each area. Room We stayed in a ground floor one bedroom apartment - the room had a separate bath and shower - front room area, kitchen area with fridge in a double cupboard in the living room area - patio with table and chairs. The room was plenty big enough for myself, Hubby and teenage daughter. Maid service was every other day - we did have a cockroach on day 4 but just the one. Pool areas As we stayed all inclusive we used the 2 main pools by the one and only bar - if using a pool in one of the other zones you could be looking at 5 - 10 minute walk to the bar. The pools were busy but not to busy - plenty of sun beds. some days the bins by the pools were overflowing and not changed - along with plastic cups from the day before just left laying around. There was the odd cockroach or two around the pool and play area these would probably be kept at bay if the cleaning of the pool area was done a bit more professionally. The guy was out most mornings cleaning the pools and the floor area with a hose just not picking up rubbish. These 2 pools are salty - the animation lady Barbara works hard and there are some small activities near these pools and mini club during the day. Like water aerobics in the morning, ping pong, water polo etc - there is a lady that does hair braiding on some days and another lady that does a little fashion show on Fridays. Snack Bar The snack bar is by the 2 main pools and they have ice cream, Burgers, chips, hot dogs, onion rings and on some days chicken nuggets. Bar Some of the staff working at the bar and restaurant were quite rude - however some were very friendly. they have a 2 drink per person rule (when in a large group like ours this was a bit of a pain as had to keep going backwards and forwards ) it would have been much easier to get a tray of drinks at time as not everyone wants to go to the bar together at the same time. The same rule applies of an evening - there are not enough tables and chairs in the bar area of an evening and some nights we had to sit on sun loungers which is not very comfortable. the bar is open from 11am and closes at 11pm (normally most nights it closed just before 11) - if you are all inclusive you can get branded drinks for half price starting from 2 euros. they also have a cocktail of the day which may change through out the day as run out - you just need to ask for these as not advertised. They also do yummy chocolate milk :) Entertainment The entertainment was not great on some evenings around 8pm there might be a reptile show, magic show or parrot show for about 20 minutes followed by the mini disco which Barbara also does. Some evenings there may be the odd bingo game or quiz. Restaurant From my experience breakfast was the best meal of the day. you have bacon, eggs, sausages, beans etc, Bread, rolls cold meats, fruit, cereals tea coffee etc some mornings there are pancakes etc Lunch and dinner are very similar - there was lots of fish and fish paella. salad etc soups seemed to be the same flavour most of the time. Food is your usual all inclusive buffet and repetitive. The staff were not happy when we moved tables to sit together. The roast pork was nice how ever they seem to have issues cooking the pork chops on all occasions these were raw with blood coming out of them. The hotel is situated near Holiday World which has some fun fair rides etc - you get about 60 points for 20 euros with some of the rides ranging from 3 to 10 points each. Massive candy floss on a stick from here at 2 euros. However there is gate right by this at the hotel that never seemed to be open and you have to walk all the way around the complex to get there. There is taxi rank just outside (or can order from reception) the hotel and taxis to the beach and local shopping Yumbo centre are around 5 euros each way and they are very friendly - Airport taxi was around 25 euros (cheaper than a private transfer I believe) There is also the free bus provided to go to the sand dunes it leaves @ 9:30, 11:40 and 12:30 then there are 3 times coming back starting from 14:30. There is not much within walking distance by the hotel there is a spar and the Koala garden supermarket. On a Wednesday and Saturday there is a fair sized market which is about a 10- 15 minute walk to the right just past the blue walled football pitches. We also did the 2hr dolphin boat trip - which we did see dolphins - we booked this with the people that come around the hotel pool - they were very friendly. we visited the crocodrilo Park zoo as well - this was a good trip - free transport available for this from a bus stop just past holiday world. lots of crocodiles and other animals - they do an interaction session and crocodile show and very reasonable price at around 10 euros an adult and 7 for a child - I will do a separate review for this lovely place. Just past the holiday world is an English trip guide he was friendly and very helpful but we found him after we had booked all of our excursions. so its always handy to know he is there. Overall we had a nice holiday

Have to say I can't say a bad word against this hotel. The food was gorgeous the staff were very friendly and the rooms were spotless clean.
The best thing about my stay was...Kids could play in pool on their own as doors to apartments were right next to it and you could watch them from there

centrally positioned in maspolamas, good size apartment and daily cleaned, helpful staff, bad, only one power point by sink for kettle, if you need to use anything else is a real pain. cooking is not easy as there is NO place to put anything and also no table and chairs to eat from, so its the sofa. yes it requires some thought and updating but as a budget holiday it passes., would I go again,, the apartment above provides an alarm service with foot steps and furniture movement so beware. .. parking in public road if your lucky... would I go again no not unless some changes made.
The best thing about my stay was...sunshine

Great value and quiet

Enjoyed very much. Look out for Panos outside Pepe Chiringo for the best prices on all excursions. He is licenced and speaks German, English, Spanish and Greek! He was very helpful in making my holiday a great Gran Canaria experience.

Great deal for good price
Marta Grochowska, Krakow
The apartments are quite spacious and clean, the clean service is quite often (although some of our things were moved too much sometimes,), one "single"bed was totally enough for 2 people so couples with children can easily fit in . the kitchen is little small but we managed to cook few times. spar/mercado municipal and other quite cheap shops are quite close to the hotel. entrance card not working properly were quite annoying sometimes, but after you tried few times gate always opened. reception desk was very helpful and always nice. we really enjoyed our stay there

Great deal, great apartment
Marcin Wala, Edinburgh
We stayed there for 3 nights and were amazed by surroundings, charming place to relax. Quite spacious, colourful and cosy apartment, makes you feel happy ;-) Apart from plasma, and 12 towels and a pool within 30 yards, there were nothing we were missing there. Great deal for money, cosy place, cheerful people. 9/10.
