Very nice clean spacious rooms with good amenities, all of the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The sister hotel opposite had entertainment in their bar every night and was open til 1am with extremely friendly staff, this was very handy as it was a 15/20 minute walk to the town. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples and families and would definitely stay there again.
The best thing about my stay was...The entertainment at the hotel bar.

Great hotel (especially for the price) before the season kicks in. Quiet location, food decent and enough to keep the children busy.

Excellent for families
Lovely room & hotel facilities, well worth being half board or all inclusive, food was varied & suited us. Indoor pool great even if weather not hot. Lots of play areas for kids. We opted to go to their 'sister' hotel during the day for a different atmosphere in the gardens & kids pool. Staff friendly & welcoming, entertainment in evenings was good- live bands, bird show & other stuff. Cheap Mini bus service into albufeira. Really clean rooms, communal areas and gardens/grounds, excellent maid service. Whole hotel well run & maintained. All staff doing a great job!
The best thing about my stay was...Hotel seemed to cater well for kids, near to beach, lovely hilltop location & clean

We recently stayed at the ALTO DA COLINA in BALAIA and i have to say that i have never writen a review before but i had to on this hotel as it was the best hotel i have ever stayed at and we have stayed in LAS VEGAS,MEXICO,DOMINICAN REPUBLIC and many other places round the world. Me and my partner are 30 years old and our baby boy is 13 months and it is the perfect place for a young family. The hotel and the surrounded area are spotlessly clean, the hotel staff speak perfect English and the food is as good as you would expect from an all inclusive. I strongly think the reps(manily Lauren.James,Ben,Natalie and Amy)deseve the most praise as i have not known reps to work so hard none stop day and night and they are really good at their job and work really had to please not just the kids but adults too. The drinks are real Coca Cola the tea is real PG tips and coffee is all brands. .FAULTS. The only faults i can think of is the pool is not heated and is very cold untill about 2.o.clock in the afternoon. The entertainment at night needs high chairs as our boy is not walking and was in his buggy or on our laps all nite and keept spilling drinks. There also is no baby changing facility in the entertainment area so we were doing it on our laps again. Also if you are staying in the Alto Coline 2 you need to walk to the supermarket which is down a very steep inclince and very hard to push a buggy up with shopping in the heat. Other then that this is the perfect hotel and resort and feel you would not be disapointed to stay here. In fact, we are coming back next year and can not wait. This time bringing the rest of the family. A must see is the El Rancho steak house in Albufeira strip and if this is to lively there is also a El Rancho in the Old Town of Portgual and is the best steak ever!!!
The best thing about my stay was...The whole trip

More like a 5 star apartment rather than 4 star. Fully equipped. Whole place was thoroughly clean. Saw staff cleaning all day long. Fully equipped kitchen. English channels on TV. 6 pools (all cold!) Lots of activities for kids. Excellent professional evening shows. Lot of parking space and grounds. Close to town & beach. Staff courteous and attentive

4th time at Alto da Colina
David Beckett, Ottawa Canada
This was the 4th time we have stayed at the Alto Da Colina and I have no hesitation recommending it to others. It is well kept, clean and friendly. The location is fine - 5 minutes to the beach and 15-20 minutes to a range of coffee shops and restaurants that keep us satisfied. The front desk staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. There are some changes occurring at the Apt/Hotel...they have started to offer an "all inclusive" package and that seemed to be attracting a fair bit of business. We did not opt for the all inclusive package - don't really need it with the kitchens in the suites and the wide range of restaurants available at a reasonable price but it is there as an option if you like that approach. All in all - a very good choice at a reasonable price. We will be returning next Spring. The Colina is very family friendly and there were a fair number of couples with small kids there.
The best thing about my stay was...A very complete package - clean, reasonable price and plenty of options.

Could not fault the hotel or the service provided by the very friendly staff. No matter which staff member was on the desk or in the bar they were very friendly and helpful. We had a room with sea view which was spatous and bright.
