we have just returned from greece and i have to say i dont think we had a bad word to say about ziakis! the maids were brill alaways cheerful and kept the rooms immuculate even great when it came to sorting our ant problem! If i could change anything about this hotel it would be its location its fine to walk down the hill (it goes on and on and on and on and on) but a taxi is a must to get back up wouldnt recommend the walk as the hill isnt lit up! pefkos is a georgous place would return enigma was great for dinner as was Hellas where the staff were always game for a laugh! if your a dare devil visit the eclipes bar and jump from the wall into the pool! i would return to pefkos and ziakis!

ziakis
20 August 2007
i have just come back from having a week at the ziakis hotel the hotel was lovely and clean mika was extremely helpful but the location is very remote and it is steep to get to the reception it is steep to get to the top of the hill to go get the bus we did find a short cut down a dusty path which was a god send there was no atmosphere around the pool and through the day we just went out temps reaching 47*i love rhodes and will go back next year but would say to anyone who has difficulty walking the ziakis is not for them.

Ziakis studios - 23-27 June 2007
28 June 2007
Have just returned from a short break for a wedding in Rhodes and stayed at the Ziakis. We were put in this accommodation at a weeks notice due to our other booked accommodation no longer being available.
Arrived late at night to be taken to a lovely 2 double bedroomed apartment (room 302). When we awoke we had stunning views down into Pefkos - and even had a peacock visit our balcony one morning.
We didn't even contemplate walking either to or from Pefkos, we were there in the middle of a heatwave and temperatures were 45 degrees plus every day, and even at night were in the late 30's with no breeze, so we got a taxi for 5 euros each way.
The pool is lovely, but I think it still needs more sunbeds - and even though it was all British staying there the sunbeds had towels on them before 9 am!! We ate as the poolside bar each morning as the nearest supermarket was a 10 minute walk away and as we were only there for 4 full days we managed.
Enigma restaurant in Pefkos was fantastic, and a trip to Lindos is a must.
Would recommend these apartments - but either be prepared for quite a walk or to get taxis everywhere.

Ziakis Studios - 10 June 2007
10 June 2007
Stayed in a 1 bed studio. Try to get the 300 block - as the 200 block and 100 block do not have the best views.
Rooms were clean and neat semi-friendly staff. The Greek Lady that seems to run the place seemed always grumpy, but most others were happy to please.
Location is difficult, the walk down the hill is a nightmare at night or in the mid-day sun. Expect to get lots of taxis with fares from Pefkos ranging from 4 to 6 Euros.
Pool was lovely with nice views and good sun all day. The pool bar was near completed so with hope it may be finished by the mid- June 2007. The closest other bar is up two flights of stairs which was very annoying ( especially with the lack of poolside service).
Bar snack were satisfactory (chips, burgers, english breakfast etc ) but better off getting breakfast at the corner cafe under Enigma bar in Pefkos.
Our rooms' ensuite had a bathtub.
Paradise bar in Pefkos is good for a cheeky cocktail - the waiters were mad!!
In general, great view but oh what a hill climb.!!

Review of 'ZIAKIS STUDIOS'
03 October 2006
Stayed in a 1 bed studio which was clean and comfortable with friendly staff.
Location is at the top of a quite steep hill approx 15-20 mins walk from the resort centre, although there are bars, tavernas and supermarkets along the way.
Pool area is nice although I doubt there would be enough sunbeds to go round in peak season. There is no pool bar - only the hotel bar which is separate but does do snacks.
Kitchen facilities were adequate at best (kettle + 2 ring cooker + fridge - no toaster / dishcloths and limited utensils). Shower was of the cubicle type without the cubicle - only a curtain! so bathroom gets very wet when used. These were the only two minor drawbacks we found.
All units have balconies, most of which have stunning views over the bay which catch the afternoon sun.
Walk back up the hill from resort is ok if you are fit but take a torch after dark as there are no street lights. Alternatively a taxi is only 4 Euros.
Pefkos is a nice resort with a small narrow beach and plenty of good Tavernas and bars. Try the Axsis taverna for excellent food (best and cheapest we found), and the Rock garden for a drink (both on the way to resort).
Overall an enjoyable stay and good value for money. Recommended.
