Review of 'WESTBURY'
31 October 2006
We spent four nights at the Westbury. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was reasonably priced and very central (5 mins walk from Gloucester Rd tube station). Our double room and bathroom was tiny (we had been deceived by the picture of the room on alpharooms website)and we felt that the hotel was quite shabby overall. Carpets were peeling back in places and the walls were very scuffed. There was a smoky smell in the corridors and lobby. The stairs were quite steep and there was no lift, so this hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Breakfast was fine - cereal, juice, toast, coffee and tea and we were allowed to leave our luggage for the day without charge when we checked out which was good. Sheets and towels although worn, were clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for cheap central accommodation without frills.
