August 2005 Trip
10 June 2007
First, I'd like to know where the rooms in the gallery pics are??? Cause I sure didn't see any rooms that looked like that when I got there, and I saw inside almost every room on my floor because everyone except us left their door open... lol! My teenage daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our week long trip. We just wanted a cheap place to get by the last couple of nights after staying with some other models earlier in the week. I made the reservations online from the other hotel. I went into it knowing that the bathroom was shared and we'd have a double bed. We checked in and went to our room. Not the cleanest place to stay, there was no air conditioning. They should advertise that fact, other hotels I have stayed at that are just as affordable have air conditioning. We did have a fan in the room, but it didn't help much. After being outside exploring the city in the heat, we didn't like coming in and staying hot all night long. We had to sleep in our undies to try to stay cool through the night. The bedding wasn't the cleanest, the sheets were stained. We did have a sink in our room which was nice to have. The bathrooms were next door. One was nasty! Someone had apparently gotten drunk that night and threw up all over the place. It was cleaned up when we got back that afternoon, but I still wouldn't use it. We used the one across the hall, it was much cleaner. On a more pleasant note, the staff was friendly and helpful, the neighborhood is charming, not too far from the subway station, and the view from the fire escape (which we crawled out on) was beautiful. My daughter didn't like staying there because of it being so hot in there and she saw a roach or 2. I was ok with it, but 2 night there was plenty, I don't think I'd have made it a whole week there. The price is very affordable if you don't mind staying hot the whole time and sharing a bathroom. Hope this review is helpful!
