I have just returned from holiday staying at the Hotel Vulcano. From the moment I stepped off the coach, there was a porter to help with my case who took me straight to reception to book in and then to my 'room' which was like a suite - I had a three piece suite in one room, huge bathroom with everything in you require, king size bed and another three seater settee! fridge etc. all for myself. My terrace was large and overlooked the sea how fantastic. The towels/bed linen changed daily. The staff - first class. I had a problem (after a rainstorm) with my safe and had to wait in the hotel for a repairman - I was then invited to a free evening meal with the hotel manager, free drinks at the bar and upon retiring a knock on my door and a waiter with a litre bottle of Famous Grouse for the inconvenience! The evening entertainment was first class, the buffet breakfast wonderful and the staff pleasant and courteous. I will definately be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Have just returned from The Vulcano .Truly a wonderful hotel.
Cleanliness, food, friendliness and efficiency  of staff, value for money, Location all excellent.Towels may be hired for the week for 1 Euro per towel so no need to bring a beach towel. No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms but this could be overcome by bringing a little travel kettle etc and using the fridge in the room for milk.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone of any age.

Smokers should however note that it is for the most part non smoking.  Smoking is permitted in your room and in a screened off section of the bar / lounge area and in the sun lounger area around the pool outdoors but not at the outdoor restaurant.
I suppose this is to be expected in these times.

Had a fantastic holiday in the Vulcano with my partner and 13 year old daughter.  What a beautiful place to stay!  The room was really lovely, spacious and the air-conditioning a real god-send!

We loved the botanic garden style of the lobby, really relaxing. The reception area was airy and pleasant, a nice place to sit down in the evening before heading out.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.  The hotel was immaculate, and the pool area was absolutely spotless.  The fountain was lovely, I only wished it was not switched off in the afternoon as the spray could be felt on the sun-terrace - our favourite spot for topping up our tans!

And the food - wow!, I must have put on half a stone in the 10 days we stayed there!  Lots of variety, really fresh and beautifully presented - compliments to the chef! We really appreciated being able to swap dinner for lunch if we fancied eating out for a change - what a great idea.  And being able to choose to have dinner at the Bitacora just accross the road is also really good, although we never did get around to doing it!

All in all a fantastic holiday in a really lovely hotel - we will definately return again.  Hopefully so will our great new Irish friends who were also guests at the hotel - would love to see them all again! Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

The Vulcano Hotel is the best 4star hotel we have stayed in during our many visits to Tenerife.  The Hotel is clean, reception staff are efficient and friendly.  The rooms are a good size, dining room large with an excellent variety of food.  The enterainment was of better standard than usual, you could even get Sky Sports 1 on the bedroom TV.  Overall an excellent Hotel.

Review of 'VULCANO'

My husband and I stayed at the Vulcano on 7 September for 8 nights, it was excellent.  The rooms are lovely, the food excellent and the service and particularly the cleanliness at the hotel are superb.

We booked a superior room as you get a sea view and couple of little extras eg the lovely fluffy white bathrobe, some dried fruit and nuts and also your safe in the room comes with the deal.

We only had one complaint and that was in the dining room they only had the air conditioning on a tiny setting, you couldn't even really notice it and as the temperature was still very hot 28 degrees in the evening, very uncomfortable for eating! The air conditioning in the rooms is great, you can have it ice cold you want to.

The area is lovely around the hotel, there are some beautiful shops and also they have a light/water show to music in the evening, at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm which is excellent.

You have to get up a bit early to save your sun beds (only english staying at the hotel) but the pool attendant is very good, if you can't find a sun bed and there are towels with nobody using them just ask him and he will remove the towels and so you don't have to worry.

Its the usual entertainment in the hotel, spanish dancing, magic etc., but just a 5 minute walk away are some nice bars, they call it the strip, but not rowdy, with a choice of some good entertainment, we went to the Corner Bar most nights and it was excellent, they have some really good entertainment, including the resident host Elliott - try the Rolf Harris challenge whilst your there!

We found the Vulcano was great.
It was situated just perfect for the beach, shops, restaurants and nightlife.
We would normally eat out when on holiday, but found the food so very good with every possible choice night after night very difficult to beat.
The rooms were very spacious and very clean. We found the staff extremely helpfull especially when we were able to have the room for a little longer when checking out which they supplied us with clean towels at no extra cost.
Lastly the happy hour went down a treat.

'VULCANO' A brilliant holiday Hotel,

18 April 2005
Having stayed locally in at least 4 other Hotels in the area recently, I would give this a 5 out of 5 on all but one section
which certainly did NOT detract from the quality of the Hotel.
The evening entertainment is pretty poor standard. I have a close association with entertainment, and would suggest that apart from that you could not fault them. I would certainly go back to this Hotel, even though my practice over the years has been NEVER to go back to the same Hotel, in case they've changed ,Management/Chef/Etc.

This is indeed a beautifully appointed hotel, well worthy of its 4 star rating with the reception area decked out as a lush sub tropical garden with an abundance of international flora, labelled for the horticulturalists amongst us. First impressions count for an awful lot and this area exudes a warm ambiance at night with comfortable seating, strategically placed lighting and recorded bird noises, but without the flying insects which would plague such an outdoor setting.

The accomodation itself is exceptionally well appointed, roomy, clean and comfortable but with one small downside namely the double bed. Although large, it consisted of two mattresses butted together which meant there was an uncomfortable ridge in the middle of the bed. Sound insulation between rooms was good and the provision of carpets in the hallways meant that noise levels were relatively low during the wee small hours.

The air conditioning was just adequate in the rooms but was far from noisy which suits those amongst us who hate ticking clocks.

On the positive side, the food was of high quality, plentiful with a varied and wide choice at all sittings with several dishes being cooked continuously on the grill which ensured their freshness. A nice touch was the microwave in the dining area for those who like their food very hot and there was never a queue for its use either.

The hotel is situated in the nicest part of the resort with good bars/entertainment close by and barely a ten minute walk to the sandy beach. The hotel itself caters in the main for shall we say the more mature guests amongst us and the "in house" entertainment reflects this and was not to our taste, but then again you cant please all the people all the time. Lager louts were noticeable by their absence and we are sure the hotel would actively discourage any rowdy behaviour in the unlikely event of it occuring.

We can only conclude by saying " enjoy " as you will be hard pressed to find a better place without paying a small fortune for the priviledge.
