OK!!!
07 July 2008
Upon arrival at the hotel we walked into reception which looked very nice - we then checked in and I was very shocked that they asked for payment before seeing our room - I do not normally write reviews, but we paided over the odds to stay here - we never got a cheap deal!! I can understand if we had paided peanuts. We eventually saw our room and I nearly cried BASIC wasn't the work it was very dark and just awlful, Our balcony overlooked aload of rubbish! We went down and explained we wasn't happy and they changed our room with no hesitation, but we had to wait till the following day has hotel was full. Upon changing our room we was offered an excellent room with pool view - it was like we were staying in a diffrent hotel. I would say to anyone that is going there and your not pleased with your room ask to change and 100% you will get one of the new rooms. Other then hotel Palma Nova was a lovely place to go and would defo go back there, but not to that hotel.

Our First Time At The Hotel Voranova.
01 July 2008
We stayed at the hotel voranova from the 27/06/2008 untill the 30/06/2008, it was just a short break. The hotel was nice a bit basic no kettle or toaster in your room but hey what do you want for very little money. Great pool area, staff where ok,rooms where not very clean but again what do you expect when you pay peanuts. The hotel is a short walk away from main street and restaurants, and only 5 Euros in a taxi to Magaluf. We had a fab time and would go again. One thing that was a bit of a pain was finding the transfer we booked it took us about 20 mins to find someone to help us as it's not very clear when you arrive at the airport where you should go but once we found it the staff where fab, transfer was fast and on time to return us to the airport on our way home.

Great family value hotel!
30 June 2008
We stayed at this hotel at the end of July 2007 with 4 children between 2 and 9. It was a last minute booking and I have to say we would definately return. The rooms are spacious and kept spotlessly clean, ours was above reception but still not really noisy. There is also internet access so ideal for famillies staying with older children and teenagers. It is situated around a 10 minute walk into Palma Nova centre and around a 5 minute walk to a lovely beach with a children's play area on it. There are a few smaller restaurants locally and a shopping centre with supermarket just up the road and also a Lidl at the top of the street. The entertainment is a little dated but the kids really enjoyed it with varied acts. It is a great family hotel if you are travelling on a budget. Seeing some of the reviews which say it is bad - ignore them unless you are a really choosy traveller!

Second stay at Voranova
07 May 2008
I stayed at Voranova in May 2006 with a girlfirend from Hobart, Tasmania. This time I stayed with a 70 year old friend who lives near me. We were upset that there were no tea-making facilities in the room and borrowed cups, kettle etc from family who live in Edificio Olivia and run a business in Son Caliu. We were on BB basis and the breakfasts were fantastic and the staff very good and helpful. My friend (female) and I have both travelled extensively over the world and you do need to consider some things being in the room as a matter of course. Hairdryers, kettles etc. Even in cheap motels in Amercia, Australia, Asia, Caribbean you get these things as a matter of course.
Please do something about the loud music!! Not everyone likes tacky karaoke music at 10 pm at night !!

Voranova Hotel. Palmanova
18 September 2007
We visited the hotel for 10 days in September and had a really good holiday. We chose the Voranova because of the faciities for wheelchair users (me) and we were not disappointed. The room was a good size with a nice pool facing terrace and a spacious wheel-in shower room. The staff were not overly friendly but helpful enough when booking taxis. No information about the room or resort given on arrival and we had no idea that to activate electricity you put the door key in the slot at the door but maybe we are just a bit slow! The apartment was quite basic but really clean with friendly maid service.
The surrounding area was pretty flat and all the pavements had slopes so no hassle getting around-lots of eating places and although footie and tv soaps shown in load of places they were easy to avoid too.Pool area really nice and don't know why everyone moans about hiring remotes, kettles etc-it's not exactly going to break the bank! Overall a good hotel and really accessible.

Palma Nova Pearl
24 August 2007
OK you may have to hire toaster, kettle and remote for the TV but we watched football, eurosport and BBc World News without using a remote, we boiled water in a saucepan, did toast on the hot plate and we managed to cook Garlic Prawns in the frying pan and sauteed Chicken in it too. There is an excellent Supermarket across the road, Mercadona -The pool was ideal , for kids especially, although getting up to reserve a sun lounger was a problem. Excellent location if you want to stay apart from Palma Nova crowds. Although we did go in several nights. Good choice of restaurants .English and Scottish Football was available in several bars . Excellent restaurant " Rincon del Mar " on the beach 150 metres away in Son Caliu. Also cheap Pub Grub ( so get there early for Curry Night on Fridays). All you can eat for 5 euros, 4 different curries. Back to the hotel. Rooms well equipped, clean, spacious for two , crowded for four and regularly cleaned Entertainment was a bit hit and miss. Football was cancelled because the Mexican entertainer did not show, the same entertainer allowed children to play with archery equipment unsupervised whilst he went to the bar. Another show was cancelled when he walked into a door. The management was informed so don't let this stop you going to this hotel. All in all six of us , from age 11 to 86, had a great time and would go again.

Voranova
09 August 2007
Just back from 1 week stay at the Voranova with a group of friends aged between 18 and 20. Complex was lovely, rooms a reasonable size, big balcony and very clean. The maid service was ok, they came on a monday a wednesday and a friday but none at the weekends but maids were friendly and happy to give extra towles etc if asked. Reception staff were friendly enough but we rarely had to deal with them. The pool area was excellent, pool was massive and pool bar was good also. The only downside to these apartments was the distance they were from the magaluf strip. It took us around 40-50 mins to walk in at night(that was with heels on mind you) but it was only 5 euros for a taxi back however if you are going on a holiday with a group and looking for convenience for the strip in magaluf i would not recommend this hotel unless u dont mind a walk. Apartments themselves get 5 out of 5 though!hope this helps!
p.s if you like indian food Saffron, which is on the beach, was a delicious meal.

cooking facilities (shocking)
07 August 2007
Just back from there on saterday, have to say the rooms were immaculate and plenty clean towels but was appauled by the so called self catering facilities, very cramped kitchen with only 2 hobs,no oven,no microwave & shocked in having to hire extras including kettle, toaster etc, hardly self catering in our eyes, we ended up spending a fortune eating out most of the time. apart from the odd fry up we tried cooking which was useless as everything stuck to the pans.we would of been better off going all inclusive .alot of youngsters making a nuisence of themselves in the early hours, so not so family friendly and if you want a sun lounger be prepared to set your alarm, totally ridiculous, if you get up at 8 theres plenty towels occuping the loungers but no people lying on them i think all the husbands get ordered & sent down to reserve them(laughable really).intertainment was a bonus and ok but very expensive for drinks food.kids games, pool etc £1.50 a pop .wouldnt go back but we have stayed in worse. all in all a holidays what you make it and we made it fun.

Good Enough
07 August 2007
I just returned from a week in Majorca (first week in Aug 07) The hotel itself is a short walk from the beautiful Palma Nova beach. On the way there are many restuarants Karens is excellent for great food and sports. Another favourite for Brit travellers is Natalies where you will meet Chris and Dave who do the best Sunday Roast every day or other English meals which the kids love, they are also very chatty and friendly. I read many reviews about this hotel before we went and was a little concerned that it might be too noisy. My kids are 11 and 5, we did have a little noise at around 4am some nights but only for 5 mins as people returned from clubbing. Then towards the end of the week some Italians moved in next door and were very noisy until about midnight until we asked them to quiet down, which they did. The rooms are adequate and clean although they could do with a lick of paint and the floors would benefit from a good sweep (very dusty) the beds are not the most comfortable but they are good enough to crash in after a long day of swimming in the massive free form pool. We used it everyday and the kids loved it, the access for small children and disabled people is excellent. The evening entertainment is at best poor, the German guy running was weird but the kids seems to enjoy his odd humour. The hotel staff are not the friendliest people in the world so don't expect a smile with your drink or question. If you want a kettle, tv controller, toaster etc then you have to pay extra, we didn't bother. Air con in the room was great as the weather was super hot. Avoid Western Water Park if your kids are not confident swimmmers, it will be a waste of money for you. All in all the pool was a winner but the hotel needs updating and some their staff sending on a customer service course, or at least teaching to smile. Would recommend if you are not too picky about the mod cons and want a big fun pool during the day.

Voranova
27 July 2007
Just came back from a 1 week stay here and we thought the hotel was good, pool is nice and big, maid service was good when we asked for new towels also. The hotel had good entertainment on, food at pool is ok if you like junk food ( recommend the hotdog when drunk). Place does have alot of young people, but only downfall is the top floor corridors could do with a hoovering. Definitely would go back again next year. About 5-10 mins walk to beach and cafes. Recommend Karens or Capones for breakfast and chinese with lantens outside for a meal. Do not go all you can eat (nasty). Reception is good if you are older and polite. (as with any place in Spain) definitely recommed Pirates & Aqualand. God hols alround

Cheap & cheerful
26 July 2007
5 Ladies all just turned 30, Returned from Majorca yesterday & this hotel was great, the pool was amazing (it's not often you get a free form pool at a 3star hotel). We found the staff very friendly & helpful. Rooms were basic but clean & with air conditioning, our rooms looked out on to the pool & I can honestly say the noise was not bad at all, (We've stayed at better rated hotels with a worse noise problem). The hotel is situated a bit out of all the hustle & bustle but not too much, (whats a five minute walk into Palma Nova, whats 5euros in a cab to Magaluff or 8 euros to Santa Ponsa). We all really enjoyed our stay here we would definitely stay here again as well as recommend this to others. There is however one downside to the hotel and that is that the corridors need a good hoover!!

17 July 2007
Recently returned for Majorca. This hotel was the farthest hotel from palmanova but within easy walking distance of the beach. Hotel ok rooms, Bed were uncomfortable, didn't go in pool it looked dirty. Maid service appalling had towels for 3 Days and when we did get towels but they were hand towels the next day i asked the maid for bigger towels couldn't speak english eventually she did supply me with bigger towels... I personally wouldn't take children here too noisy early hours in the morning.. We wouldn't stay there again.

Cheap and Cheerful
05 June 2007
Just come home from a long weekend here - good hotel for Groups of freinds £10 per person per night - so you can't go wrong. Close to some good places to eat and be civilised before you hit the mayhem that it Magaluf. I personnally wouldn't take children here but its not too noisy or loud by the pool or at night. This is our second visit to this hotel and would return - however next girls holiday is going be somewhere more classy!!!!!

Stayed 23/05/07
05 June 2007
This Hotel was the farest hotel from Palmanova but within easy walking distance of the beach. There were quite a few disabled people staying there as the facilities were great for them. However, even though the pool was large, it was very deep, even for an experience swimmer. I had to watch my nine year old very carefully all the time in the pool as there were no lifeguards at all, this was very surprising. The food left much to be desired and the rooms were clean, but basic. The aircon was the most easiest to use. Overall, a very quiet hotel and if I had to take elderly people there, I would not hesitate.

31 March 2007
The apartments themselves are okay, but if you have a family of 4 a bit cramped, we had to move some of the furniture onto the balcony, it was ok round the pool in the morning until the younger people woke up, they was not that disruptive, kept themselves to themselves, not the ideal place for children, as you can hear them all talking about the night before, done it myself about 15 years ago, lovely situation, quiet, nice walk into Palma Nova and even Magaluf if the kids legs will keep going. We went for a cheap holiday and got what we paid for, just wont go back, ideal for the young ones though!!!!

Review of 'Voranova'
13 March 2007
I think we came here at the right time (March), i.e. before the English lagerlouts and the heat. There were a lot of German Geriatics (GG's) who stay for the winter months but they were not a problem (except for getting on the local buses, which are few & far between), in fact they probably keep the younger English element at bay. The hotel was clean & the staff were very helpful, the pool is heated & cleaned daily, you are 10 mins. from the beach, there is a sauna, indoor pool, entertainment, minimarket, & postal service. The breakfast (we were on B&B) was amazing, everything you could want was there. I would definitely come back again. We hired a car on the front & explored the Island, I think that three days cost us about £30. It was great to be free of the buses (& the GG's)

We stayed at the Voranova out of season and was under half capacity. We were a family of mature adults, 1 disabled and 2 older teenagers, The large apartment accomodation was clean and the room made up every other day. Easy to find off the main Palma road it is an excellent base if you hire a car to travel the island, equally, just yards from the main shopping/bar area of Palmanova, entertainment and the beach are just minutes away. Largely occupied by older, German guests it is probably best as a base although the pool is superb, each room faces inward to the pool/patio, the small indoor heated pool and free sauna was an added bonus in January. The friendly staff, very clean communal areas and excellent full buffet breakfast all ensured a very pleasant stay. A super hotel for disabled guests with full disabled access including the pool and disability aids including wheelchairs available to hire. Highly recommended as a base, out of season hotel and for those with disabilities.

We went in may 2006 it was very nice. A lot of the reviews we read said it was full of young groups being loud but it was very quiet in the first week, mainly with people over 50 we didn't mind as we was out most of time, it got busier the 2nd week with familys and groups but there wasn't any trouble. The maids came every other day and it was clean and tidy, would definitely go back in 2007.

Review of 'Voranova'
17 October 2006
We stayed at Hotel Voranova for 4 nights at the end of September. The rooms/studios were fine and the bathroom was in good condition. Our rooms were also cleaned. The pool outside was nice and clean, and we spent a good few hours in it. The staff were helpful and did speak good english.
The hotel was quiet around the time of the year we went, there were mainly older and disabled people staying there, as the hotel offers good facilities for the disabled. One of the nites, we were told to be quiet by security as we returned back to our rooms after a nite out. The entertainment that was offered by the hotel in the evenings was mainly aimed for the older people, bingo, grease etc!! Therefore, if your after a loud and rowdy hotel, this is not the place. We did not try the restaurant or bar. The hotel also offered internet service for a price and there was a few games machines and a pool table there.
The best part of Hotel Voranova is the location. It is about 5 - 10 mins walk from the beach where there are lot of cafes, bars, and shops. There are two big supermarkets nearby, walking distance, and the nite life area of magaluf is a taxi journey away costing under 5 euros. There is a british bar a few mins walk away. I recommend this hotel if you want a quiet stay for a few days. It is not ideal for stag do's and party's!!

Voronova Apartments
07 September 2006
Voronova apartments were very nice. We were on the 3rd floor with a lovely big balcony that faced onto the huge pool. The beach bar served food from 10am - 11pm.
The hotel attracts all different types of people. We went at the end of August, and there were plenty of young groups of friends, but also couples and famillies aswell.
It was a 3 minutes walk to Son Caliu beach in Palma Nova and about a 10 minute walk to the Palma Nova and Magalluf beaches.
The only downside to the hotel was the distance into Magalluf. It takes a solid 30 minutes walk to get to the 'strip' but there are nice bars / restaurants and shops to see on the way. Alternatively, if your feet are hurting you can get a taxi from the apartments to Magalluf for 3 Euros.

I went with a friend and our teenage kids, the accommodate was basic but clean with everything we needed we also had a good size balcony, not over looking the pool thankfully, the area was very close to the best beach, too far to walk to magaluf cheap enough in a taxi. It was a bit of a fight for sun beds round the pool, had to send the kids down pretty early. the only down side was lack of maid service for the rooms I know it was mostly younger people who aren't too bothered, but I like clean towels and my bin emptied more than once.

A group of 12 lads, we were there for 10 days and had a great time! We normally missed breakfast and slept in until about lunch time so I can’t comment on the breakfast but we'd spend most of our day lounging around by the pool. Which was clean, safe but normally full of lads (like us) throwing balls or splashing around. A few minutes walk from the beach with a few little shops not far away, it’s really well positioned. Over all; had a great time and would recommend it to any young groups who are looking for a few days away to have laugh.

I came to this place just hoping it wasnt too bad, but when we got there we got a very nice suprise. The pictures really do not 'big up' this hotel enough.
The hotel is really nice and everyone there is very pleasant. The pool and surrounding area is excellent, and i thought that the service at reception and the rest of the staff was excellent.
If you are wanting to go into centre of magaluf to hit the clubs then it is only a 40 min walk or a taxi which will only cost no more than 6 euros. The beach is 5 mins away and a theres a huge supermarket about 3 mins walk away. There are plenty of restuarants nearby aswell.
I would seriously reccomend this hotel for EVERYONE!

Me and my family, two adults and four teenegers were staying in two studios at the Voranova hotel for three nights. We found the hotel perfect for our family, two nice, light studios with a good bathroom. We didn´t use the pool at all but it seemed very well taking care of, a lot of sunbeds and the prices at the barpool was good for a family with four teenegers. The absolute best was the people in the reception, very helpful and friendly! Five minutes walk to the beach and all the restaurangs and bars, no complaining about that. We had a car, that´s a recomendation, so we drove in to Palma and to Portals Vells just in 20 minutes. We are coming back as we all are playing golf, a perfect hotel-cheap as it is for that purpose. This ís a good recomendation!

Review of 'VORANOVA'
02 May 2006
I stayed at the Voranova as part of a group of 20 girls on a hen party in April 2006. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel as we were expecting it to be very basic due to the fact it was so cheap! We found all the staff to be very friendly and the facilities were very good. The rooms were a reasonable size and were clean and tidy, and all had a safety deposit box. The only criticism I would have is that we didn't have a toaster or a kettle in our room (although some of the other rooms did). The hotel is only a short walk from the beach where there are loads of bars/restaurants and a taxi into Magaluf is only about 5 euros. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds and a bar, and in low season the outdoor pool is heated. All in all a really good hotel for stag/hen groups wanting decent accommodation at a reasonable price. We had a brilliant time and would definitely go back to the Voranova.

Nice hotel - caters for the young and the old. Went with two other girls for a relaxing break- The Hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Beach and a 5 Euro taxi ride to Magaluf. Voranova
24 April 2005
Me and my 3 mates stayed in Voranova last year and found it a really good holiday. The hotel itself is about 15-20 mins walk into Magaluf which isn't long at all and taxi service is second to none if you don't fancy the strole. The rooms were superb, bathroom facilities were ok and had a decent blacony. The people in Voranova were pretty much like ourselves, young and daft. A few families who were obviously located on arrival didn't seem to enjoy it as much due to the younger atmosphere. The security is quite strict as we had many visits from reception for, climbing on the roof of the first ground floor, loud music, verbaly abusing a middle aged southerner next door. So as long as you stick to the rules you'll be alreet. The pool facilities are canny and there's a goal which is good for POOLA (headers and volleys in water, without the volleys) I'm ganin back this year so it's a 4 star verdict, would have 5 for a better location.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Voranova. It was lovely!! The room was just right for 4 people with a balcony and was very clean. The pool was nice but was sometimes hard to find a sunbed. The evening could of been slightly better with more entertainment but we went out most nights so we weren't too bothered. The beach isn't too far really, within walking distance. The security are strict and are not too please when you jump in the pool on an evening fully clothed!! Would go again!
Would go again!
