NICE HOTEL BUT VERY NOISY AND CROWDED
05 August 2008
Pro's: nice hotel, clean, but room was poorly situated and room was smelly.
Con's: too noisy, too many kids entertainment from 10AM until after 11PM at night, swimming pool was way too busy. overall, great for families, not great for couples.

Fantastic Holiday at Viva Tropic
30 July 2008
Just back from a Fantastic two week holiday at Viva Tropic. First class hotel, friendly staff, great amenities and spotlessly clean. Our room was great, air conditioning was fab to have and the rooms were cleaned five times a week. I would have liked to have an oven in the kitchen, but we managed fine.
The over 18's Relaxation Area was amazing. Draped double beds around a pool - heavenly!
The beach was only a 5 minute walk away. Beautiful white sand that stretched forever.
We ate out every night and found the standard of food and service to a very high standard. In particular we would reccomend the BRUNNEL INN (John and Em) which is located just round the corner from the hotel. Lovely people who always made us feel very welcome and at home. The food was excellent. Make sure and book in on a Sunday for their Traditional Sunday Dinner-yummy!
Take a walk up to the old town on a Sunday morning and explore around it, plus there is also the market as well.
We enjoyed taking a walk down by the harbour at night.
The entertainment at the hotel was first class. A different show every night, all put on to a very high standard. We booked the trip to the PIRATES SHOW a fantastic night out for all the family, tickets include all your food, wine and soft drinks.
During the winter months part of the hotel rooms are being upgraded. My friend got a tour round one of the show rooms and said it was totally luxurious.
A great holiday had by all with fantastic memories. Look forward to going back.

Brilliant Holiday
03 July 2008
Stayed in May 2008. Found the room spacious and spotlessly clean. Hotel, amenities and staff excellent. Especially liked the pool area and the "Chill Pool" (over 18's only with double beds - great!!!). Convenient for all the bars, restaurants and shops. Big hello to John and Em at the Brunel Bar. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Viva Tropic, will go back again and would recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful Aparthotel !!!
28 June 2008
Pros:5 swimming pools for toddlers, kids(with a new pirate ship with slides), adults and 1 indoor. access to small supermarket from reception. 2 bars+food all day and 1 restaurant. activities for adults/kids all day run by a team of enthusiastic rep.s, clean/air conditioned rooms, convenient to beach/harbor/restaurants/rent-a-car, has it's own internet cafe and gym. also the have just put in new a reception are applying for another star. Cons:prices are very expensive in local supermarket(but there's a large supermarket 300 meters away that's very cheap)

4 adults (ish) kids age 11, 4, 3
03 June 2008
We went to this hotel after reading all the good reviews on this site and other sites and they were right !!
Although the rooms were basic they had all we needed except a microwave and bowls but they were clean .
The pools and the rest of the hotel more than made up for this, they were excellent.
I would recommend this hotel for all ages as it caters for toddlers in the Pirate play pool, older kids in the main pool and a beautiful 18+ chillout pool with draped double bed wicker loungers !!
Only 5 mins walk from the beach and restaurants. I would recommend a walk up to the harbour restaurants even though it might be a few euros extra for the meal it is worth it.....

Viva is great - Sept 07
02 May 2008
We have been going to the Viva Tropic now for the past 5 years and every year is as great as the last one! It is brillent for the children has a great childrens club which caters for the young and old. They even have things for the adults to do. The hotel is always spotless and the rooms are cleaned 5 times a week. The hotel staff are always polite and friendly. Would recommend to anyone with children. The beach at Alcudia is 2 minutes walk and is out of this world. And around the corner is Brunnel Inn bar which serves great English food (Em and John) who own the bar always make you feel welcome. We have booked this year and are going for 2 weeks in Aug can't wait!!

a very good hotel
05 April 2008
We went to viva tropical my wife my 17 year old daughter and myself in the last week in march . The hotel cannot be faulted and the staff where excellent. But there was a lack of entertainment in the evening this however was probably because we went so early in the season

Go to VIVA
05 October 2007
Went to Viva Tropic with the family.2 girls aged 8 and 6.They loved it. Superb swimming pool, entertainment, kids clubs,it really is first class if you have young children. The Hotel is spotless and offers something for everyone. The entertainment staff are brillant and the shows on the evening were good fun for everyone.
The location of Viva is excellent only a few minutes and you are in the centre yet it isnt by a main road of any kind.

A Great Hotel ***
05 October 2007
Eight of us have just returned from a week at the Viva Tropic, the youngest begin 8 the rest adults, we loved it. The hotel has everythink you could of asked for. Rooms were spotless when we arrived and we had maid service 6 days out of the 7. The location of the hotel is great 5 mins to alcudia beach and 10 mins to the port, hotel entertainment and mini club were excellent and kept us all entertained. Although we went last week in september weather was great and hotel was still quite busy but never had any problem getting a sunbed by the pool even if it was after 10 o'clock. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Brash! with good air conditioning.
03 August 2007
we have just returned from 10 days at the viva tropic, and we hated it. people everwhere cramed in like sardines around the pool, you needed to be out before 8am sitting on your lounger otherwise forget it! we went at the end of july so maybe its quieter at other times. the outside bar area was like a naff cafe with plastic chairs, the restaurent inside was ok and breakfast was good if you got there early enough to avoid the crowds. The room was small but clean and tidy and the air conditioning was fantastic ,very cold! a good relief from the heat.
Alcudia itself is nice around the port 10 mins walk and the old town. The rest is like blackpool. Puetro pollensa is well worth a visit we loved it and went everyday (15 mins by car), its much more laid back with fab restaurents and the best beach ever. the children loved it.
Maybe we just like things a bit more refined but the viva tropic is not that.
if you like screaming kids with nowhere to escape the noise, and youlike rubbish around the pool then this is for you!

Excellent Place To Stay
23 July 2007
I went to the Viva Tropic with my entire family consisting of my father, sisters, husband and kids aged 10 months, 2, 4 and 6. We have been going there for about 3 years and have enjoyed every year as much as the last. The kids club, restaurant, rooms, service, location, entertainment and mini club are all excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

A Great Holiday A++
25 June 2007
We stayed at Viva Tropic in May with our 3 year old son. A great place to relax - felt at home from the moment we arrived. Close to the best of Alcudia - beach (5 mins.); port (10 mins) and even the old town is only a 20 minute walk - well worth a visit on market days.
Round the corner (2 minute walk) is the Brunel Inn - we made it our 'local' for a couple of beers each evening - friendly couple (Em and John) who made us feel most welcome.
Food and entertainment at the hotel was more than adequate - plenty to keep the little one amused in the evening!
Room was clean and although basic, it had everythin we needed (kettle, fridge, crockery etc.)
All staff, from cleaners to reception to waiters were more than helpful. If you want a relaxing, stress-free holiday with a young family then I would thoroughly recommend the Viva Tropic.

No Bad
10 June 2007
Just got back from a 12 night stay at the Viva Tropic, i had only one problem with this hotel it was waiter service only if you wanted a drink ice cream etc, my young daughter and i she is 5 had to wait 1 hour for a drink and ice cream that we had ordered, eveytime i went up to enquire about this they kept telling me it would be with me now, other than that the hotel reception and other staff where excellent, clean nice & most of the staff are friendly. but would not return to this hotel.

Bristol bar
05 May 2007
We were impressed from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, extra pillows etc. The Hotel is one of the cleanest we have stayed in and the staff very friendly.
Also just happened to find a bar called brunel inn just around the corner from the hotel, run by a great couple and they served great food, and were great fun, we met some great people in here and they were from Bristol so it felt like home from home. Will look forward to going back hopefully later in the year.
The location of the hotel was great as the port end of alcudia only a 5 to 10 minute stroll and old town about 20mins.
Had a fantastic time.

Review of 'VIVA TROPIC'
29 July 2006
Our 5yr old daughter found the entertainment programme great there was lots for her to do she especially liked the pony rides. We found the hotel room clean and maintained well and liked the fact we had a small kitchen to make basic foods with a 2year old it was great to be able to make beans on toast if we needed to. The entertainment on a night was what you would expect, they really made an effort and we all liked the 'GREASE' show. We travelled with a family and the hotel moved them so they could be our neighbours on the first floor. We would go again when our little one is older.

12 July 2006
Found the aparthotel to be clean and well maintained with helpful , polite staff. However if you want a sunlounger by the pool then you will have to be a very early riser! The surrounding beaches are lovely and there are lots of eateries within a few minutes walk. We had two 16 year olds with us and would say that although the hotel has an entertainments programme, it was a little on the quiet side in the evenings with the entertainment normally finishing at the latest by 11.30pm. However if you have younger children this would be ideal. The town centre is approx 20min walk but just 5 minutes in a taxi costing about 4 euros. We have used alpha rooms before and we would certainly use them again. They offer excellent accomadation, value for money and a hassle free service.

17 April 2006
Just come back from Viva Tropic, April 9-16 2006. Our first such holiday in a hotel. We were very pleased about every aspect of the holiday. The rooms were fine, the food was great and the kids loved it at the hotel, plenty of activities and things to do. Although the water in the pool was cool it didn't stop us going in when the sun was shining. I can thoroughly recommend it for a family with children.

Splended 'VIVA TROPIC'
28 March 2006
Best accomandation at Mallorca, so far! We are a married couple who spent 4 days at this very nice and well organized hotel/apartements. We were looking for a nice area centrally in Alcudia because we wanted to bike every days, and central it was! Just some hundred metres from the Port dè Alcudia and close to a very nice bikeshop (Sportbequi). The hotel was very nice, clean and with a beatiful swimming pool. the service was great and the breakfast also very good. For those interrested in biking (and I think most of the guest were) had a secure area in the hotel to put the bikes (you could even have it on the balcony or in your room). finally there were a big cycling competition taking place on our last day, starting and finishing just outside the hotel, so that was a perfect ending of a great stay at Viva Tropic! Thanks, we'll surely be back! :)

WE WERE BOTH DELIGHTED WITH THE WARM WELCOME WE RECEIVED WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL. WE WERE THERE OCTOBER 2005 AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR STAY, THE STUDIO APARTMENT WAS EXTREMELY CLEAN AND A VERY GOOD SIZE, ALL THE FACILITIES WERE THERE ON HAND, CLEANING SERVICE 5 DAYS OUT 0F 7 - NOTHING WAS A BOTHER TO THE STAFF, THE SWIMMING POOL AREA WAS EXCELLENT, ALSO THE POOL BAR/RESTAURANT, WAS GREAT AND VERY REASONABLE PRICES. THE LOCATION IS IDEALLY SITUATED FOR THE BEACH, RESTAURANTS, PUBS AND SHOPS - WE HEARD NO NOISE AT ALL AT NIGHT (WAS NEARING THE END OF SEASON). WE WERE IMPRESSED BY THE HIGH STANDARD & WOULD CONSIDER RETURNING TO VIVA TROPIC.

Review of 'VIVA TROPIC'
21 June 2005
The Viva Tropic is ideally located in Alcudia. 5-7 minutes walk to a lovely sandy beach even a shorter walk to the shops and restaurants. Alcudia Port is 10 minutes walk away where there are some wonderful seafood restaurants. The ambience in this area is perfect. We found the apartments very ample in size and extremely clean with maid service 5 days out of seven. I would recommend the Viva Tropic apartments to families with children, as there is heaps of entertainment for them.

firstly can i say if you have any doubts at all about booking your own holiday package dont have, because alpharooms have provided an excellent service. i stayed with my wife & daughters at this hotel between 18th april/27th april. the hotel is very clean & tidy with maid service 5 days a week, it is a very modern hotel within 5 mins walk of bars & restaurants (not affected by any noise) & a few mins more to the lovely sandy bay of alcudia. the hotel provides meals and snacks which are very good value, the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. there is entertainment for children of all ages and the adults too. my daughters liked to use the internet at the hotel to keep in touch with their friends. summing up - a very good hotel to relax and enjoy your holiday in. i would go there again.
