It is as it says on most reviews. Right next to Torremuelle train station, nothing in the village itself but a good base for people using a car or the train service which is every 20 mins running from Malaga Centre to Fuengirola Centre. Full journey is only 3 euros. 1 euro 70 cents from airport.
Place is clean, staff helpful. We asked for a sunny balcony and got room 312 which had full sea view and balcony with sun all day.
All rooms have sea and pool view, some are side views.
Only down side was the noise of the train warning beeps to tell travellers doors are about to close. Starts about 0700 till midnight. We got used to it though.
There is a bar and snack bar but hardly used.
We paid little for this place but it was fine. Train got lots of use but very cheap and reliable.
The best thing about my stay was…
Sunnt balcony with sea view for really good price, helpful staff and clean spacious room.

hotel had good sized rooms, small kitchen but done okay for breakfast, hotel is out of the way from everything but excellent train service brings you to main resorts in both directions in 2-3 minutes,,train station is less than 50 metres from hotel front door....you have to get off at torremulle station not benalmadena.only stayed 3 nights 24/4/2013 to 27/4/2013,wasn"t many people staying which suited us as there was loads off room around the seriously small pool,,,would stay again ....
The best thing about my stay was…
weather,good craic,seeing different resorts

Ideal location "No frills"
17 October 2012
This was a clean basic Hotel which was ideally lcated right next to the railway Station (Torremuelle) The staff were pleasant. We went self catering which was a good thing as everyone complained about the food. The pool is very small but there was penty of room for sun bathing.
The best thing about my stay was…
Probably the proximity to the station as it made the hotel a good base.

the hotel is fine, but we cant say any thing about the food as we didnt eat there.the hotel does not have a transfer to the beach as that stoped over a year ago.the train station is wright out side and it costs 1069 euroes to go to torralamenos benlamadia and so on.
The best thing about my stay was…
frendly staff and very nice rooms.

A bit disappointed on arrival as we had to change room because the door would not lock. However the staff were very helpful and the rooms were very nice, fairly well equipped and comfortable. The hotel is not at the railway station in Benalmadena as advertised but at Torremuelle which is the next stop on the line. Costs 3.30euro for a return journey per person so that adds up over the holiday. Some of our fellow guests had to take a taxi from Benalmadena to the hotel as they didn`t realise it was at Torremuelle. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. No English news channels although 80% of guests were from GB.Half board consists of continental breakfast and evening meal was quite good, although choice was limited.
The best thing about my stay was…
Friendly and helpful staff

great hotel and location by station, but meals let it down.
22 June 2012
Our second visit as we like the hotel and location opposite train station - lovely, spacious well equipped rooms, great sea view, kitchen area with fridge, microwave, hob, powerful shower.
Wash up liquid and scourer in room - improvement on last year.
Breakfast very basic and became more so as our stay progressed. Butter ran out after a few days and never reappeared. One day even the marge ran out!
Toaster too slow - the toast took ten minutes and emerged crispy all the way through. Cereals - sugar puffs or coco pops. After a few days the sugar puffs ran out so for several days it was only coco pops. Last two days, cornflakes appeared.
Evening meals - got better. Usually a fish or meat choice. Meat was only chicken or pork in various forms.
Only fruit for pudding and very limited choice, but on our last day a nice moist cake appeared. But you had to get in early as people who came later said "what cake?"
It was a mainly quiet hotel but one early evening we sat by the pool and four small children seemed to be crying at the same time! It only happened once.
Tip: Nearby Benalmadena Peublo village is well worth a visit. It's gorgeous. It's way up in the mountains so it would be a very challenging walk, but you can get a bus.
The best thing about my stay was…
The sun after UK rain, location by station.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Location was great to see all of Costa Del Sol. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well equipped and had a lovely balcony. The only thing I didn't like was the food but you can eat out very cheaply. There isn't much around the hotel but with the train station opposite ( which is very quiet ) you can go to many places for 1.55 euro.
Would stay here again as it was so cheap and friendly.
The best thing about my stay was…
Great train service for getting around & friendly staff.

While this hotel may be a little away from the hustle and bustle, it is not isolated. Across the road is the railway station, but no noise from it, you can park their. Supermarket down the road as are a couple of bars and restaurant. Hotel staff extremely friendly, and whilst the breakfast is basic there is plenty of it. Rooms are clean and spacious, towels changed daily, and beds were comfortable. mainly spanish there when we were there.
The best thing about my stay was…
the peace and quality for price

Young couple with a 3 years old child.
The Hotel Vista de Rey is situated in an excellent location with easy access to all Costa Del Sol places of interest due to the very near train station.
The stuff was lovely and helpful, we had a nice breakfast every morning.
The walls were very thin so we could hear every word of our neighbours, but we were moved to other room immediately when we asked for it.
The best thing about my stay was…
Lovely stuff

22 August 2010
The hotel is not bad although its swimming pool it's small, the car parking is narrow and the hotel isn't very clear. The only interesting thing is that's beside a train station called "Torre del Muelle". If you want to go to Benalmadena's party zone you have different ways: go walking 6.6km till the Soy y Mar Plaza, walk until you reach a bus stop that isn't very near or catch a taxi and pay 10 or 11€.
If you're planning to go there do the shopping before but don't buy too much because the fridge is really small.
The first day we arrived there we noticed that the terrace door couldn't close so we told the hotel's acommodation. It took 3 days until they got it fixed up. So we had 3 completely days our terrace door opened for thieves to get in easily. More things broke down during our stay at Vista de Rey: the shower, the trim beside the kitchen's tap fell down... It's free to use the TV but every 30 minutes subtitles appeared. Then with the remote I had to make them disappear. The acommodation desk has a woman and 3 men. 2 young men are really nice, the old man also but for his mistake we had to wait for 20 minutes outside the hotel until he awoke at 6am because he was asleep. The woman is rude, bad manners, bad answers, ...
The best thing about my stay was…
FREE WIFI!!

Lovely hotel, staff very pleasant. Apartments best we have ever had. Train station was very handy and inexpensive. Plenty of buses at bottom of hill but the walk back up was difficult. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back. Excellent value for money.

Just returned having spent a week with a friend at the Vista De Rey Hotel. Hotel very modern and clean, nice balcony with lovely views. Staff very helpful. Chose this hotel for the position close to the the railway station, my friend and I are both in our 60's, and found the train most useful for getting to and from the hotel. Would have no hesitaton in going back to stay at this hotel, had a lovely week.

Excellent accommodation next to Torromuelle rail station. Ideal for travelling to the airport, Malaga and the nearby local resorts.
Accomodation is spacious and modern with a good sized balcony and great air-con( which you dont pay extra for).
Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
