The Vincent Van Gogh is a basic yet traditional city hotel, ideal for travellers on a budget looking for a great location, as it is situated in the heart of the museum district, close to the famous P.C. Hooftstraat shopping mile, and within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions, including the Leidseplein with numerous restaurants, bars and nightlife. All bedrooms are basic with individual decoration and amongst the hotel's facilities is a foyer with a convenient 24 hour reception desk and a safe. The simple rooms come with an en suite bathroom, central heating and a separate lounge area. Guests can enjoy a leisurely drink at the bar as well as relaxing in the TV room and the breakfast room can be found in the sister hotel, the Acca, with direct access via the Van Gogh. The Vincent Van Gogh is ideal for a budget holiday in a great location.

The accommodation was clean, spacious and adequate and, very importantly for buzzing Amsterdam, in a relatively attractive and peaceful area, just round the corner from the main museum area, the Vondelpark and with trams almost at the door. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the heart of the city and the staff are great. Plenty of info on hand too about what to see, do etc. A good, reasonably priced option and I'll be back.
