I stayed at the Villa Mexicana for 10 days in July 2005. I had a very pleasant, quiet stay. My room was very clean and beautiful and the maid service wonderful. Fresh flowers and towels made into sculptures greeted me when I'd return to it. Lovely beach just a jump away. La Ropa Beach was cleaned every morning and was used by walkers and runners at the start of the day. I took a fun para-sailing ride for a nominal fee on the beach and had 2 wonderful massages in the little hut on the hotel's private area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The main tourists were Mexican families from Mexico City. I was the only American at that time, but had no difficulties at all. Only drawbacks was very hot in July and no refrigerator in the room.
