My husband and 4 year old son stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in July 08 and had a wonderful time. We had previously read a number of negative reviews, most of which focused on the fact that this should not be rated as a 5 star hotel. Taking this and the low cost of the accommodation into account, we went with the attitude that we could expect standards of a 4 star hotel at best. As a result, we were not disappointed. The hotel was spacious and clean and the staff friendly. The decor and facilities are however old and tired and the hotel is well overdue for a refurb (which I believe is happening this year). On our last 2 days, the restaurant was understaffed which lead to poor service. Our biggest negative comment would be the lack of evening entertainment. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and a just a 10 minute walk from the marina. The pool and surrounding gardens are spacious and attractive. They have a great BBQ by the pool at lunchtime where you can choose from a selection of fresh fish and meat but be prepared to pay a minimum of EUR12.00 for a BBQ’d dish and EUR5.00 for a beer! You can also get good pizza, pasta and salads at a lower cost. Another plus is that it is only 30 mins from the airport (but thankfully not under the flight path). Overall, we had a great time and we are very likely to return.
