Review of 'VIGILIA PARK APARTMENTS'

09 April 2007
We stayed at Vigilia Park for two nights only, however, we found the amenities very good, the staff spoke excellent english & were very helpful.  Our accommodation was roomy & very clean, the apartment we had was on the fifth floor & had its own private entrance to the rooftop pool & bar.  The only criticism we have was people who 'reserved' their sunbeds this does spoil it for those who go out in the morning (as we did) and come back to sunbeds with towels on but no sunbathers!  Vigilia Park is close to restaurants and you have an excellent view of Los Gigantes.

The stay was great the apartment was excellent but the location was really old we are 25-28 and most perople were about 60, granted this was in the middle of march but still i would have expected a bit more life. If you want a relaxing holiday this was it, the apartments were really clean and the buffet meal was really nice and resonable but again it seemed to be for the older age groups.

Excellent location with beautiful views of dramatic Los Gigantes cliffs from some rooms and from rooftop pool.

Basic but clean rooms. Friendly staff. Lots of great eateries nearby to suit all tastes and budgets.

Only downside was traffic noise most hours of the day and major building work opposite.

We had such a good time at the Vigilia Park and I am fussy.  The five of us, 3 kids aged 9/7/5 and my husband and myself had a ball.  Loads of facilities - apartment was spacious with everything we could possibly want.  They are old but very clean and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.  Main pool 165cms so suited the older two better than the youngest.  Rooftop pools included shallow pool for younger children.  Pool table/ mini golf/table tennis - all great for the kids.  Convenient for loads of nice places to eat.  We hired a car and went to Aqualand about 30 minutes away.  I cannot praise these apartments more and have paid a lot more for a lot less.  Don't understand why they are rated at only 2 keys.

Basic apartments are above a shopping arcade and a supermarket.  The average balconies are irrelevant if you take the elevator to the large rooftop bar/pool area. There you can revel in the panorama of La Gomera and the cliffs of Los Gigantes.  There is ample parking on the main road and there are several restaurants in the area.  A beach would be about 20 mins walk.

Review of 'VIGILIA PARK APARTMENTS'

Our stay at these apartments over the New Year Period was most enjoyable.  The apartment was really lovely, clean and bright and had absolutely everything you could possibly want in a self catering apartment, fridge-freezer, microwave, hob, oven, coffee maker, ironing board, iron and loads more.  The hotel even has a launderette which was great.   We had chosen to stay half-board although you could self cater with no problem at all.   There is an excellent supermarket right underneath the building and very reasonably priced.  There are loads of restaurants to choose from if you like to eat out.   The reception staff in the hotel were most polite and very helpful, especially Vanessa.   The food in the hotel was acceptable but a little more variety would have been nice.  I am allergic to prawns and chef was quite happy on New Years Eve to prepare a starter for me with out prawns.  I even got chef to dress up with a funny sparkily  hat  on New Years Eve, along with the gentleman singer that was entertaining everyone for the night.    We liked where the apartments were situated, near enough to the towns and sea if you wanted and away from the crowds and noise.   We were able to walk down to the town of Los Gigantes or to Puerto de Santiago at night where there were many bars with music.  There are lots of steep hills so it is not ideal for people with walking difficulties, however there are always taxis passing by at reasonable prices if need be.    The hotel had entertainment every night which we had not expected.  We had a magician, singers and even  a little parrot show.  The bus stop is right outside and we were able to take the bus into Las Americas on Market day and to Puerto De La Cruz which has lovely sea views and very good Perfume Discount shops.  Be warned the roads are winding through the mountains and it takes 2 hours to get there.  We had not been to Tenerife before although we have been to all the other Canary Islands.  We would most defineatly go back and would highly recommend the Vigillia Park.  Excellent value for money and we will be going back at some stage.  Having New Year in Tenerife was lovely.  The Spanish were so friendly and made you very welcome.

really enjoyed the apartments.  With different swimming pools in different locations you could chose either the roof or the ground floor.  The staff were great - especially Manuel and Antonio - who loved to dance - had a great laught with my partner and Manuel doing a rendition of the Cheeky girls! The apartments were clean and tidy and the cleaning people changed the towels and bedding when you wanted.  There was entertainment laid on and the barbecue - with music from Havana Cuba was good fun.  down side - twin beds - and a bit of noise in the morning from the builders across the road - but hey this is Tenerife!  Oh yes and the discrete! nudiste area on floor 6 - is apparently very quiet! Happy holidays!

Nice appartment for 4 in two levels with two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Cleaning fine. Wonderful seaview from balcony. Quiet place in central Los Gigantes. This can not be better for a fair price.
