Basic, alright

Do not check in before 2pm. You fill find narrow corridors full of blankets, sheets and towels and your room won't be ready. We got a smelly room but fortunately we were able to swap it with a better one. Rooms are small and old with a small bathroom but you don't want to stay there all the day. It serves its purpose. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Ideal for short breaks. The location is excellent and for that price you couldn't get many better places.
Overall we were satisfied we enjoyed Paris and the hotel provided us with everything we needed: a place to sleep.
You need nothing else.
The only minus was the Internet connection which wasn't working properly during our stay. I paid 8 Euros for one hour of the Internet and was cut off after about 10 minutes due to a modem problem at the hotel.

Totally sufficient; you get what you pay for!

Bedrooms small, but perfectly functional. Hotel tired and basic in many ways, but in general clean and did the job that was required of it. We all slept well, and enjoyed the simple but perfectly adequate breakfasts [croissants, coffee, tea, juice, bread, yoghurt etc]. Good location for Metro line 8, and many restaurants [cheap or not] and shops close by. Staff fine. Only 25 mins walk to Gare du Nord with two 10 yr old children.

Ideal for short stay
09 March 2007
The rooms are on the small side but adequate as most of the time was spent sight seeing. The room and hotel is very clean and in a quite location which was the main thing for me and my wife. Location is excellent, beside 2 Irish bars (with very good foood), access to the Metro system which will take u to any of the sites within minutes and some local shops. All in all a very good stay! Thanks Alpha Rooms.

The Hotel was in a great location within walking distance of major department stores and the opera house. Loads of shops, bars and restuarants nearby, & the metro. Quiet location, rooms small and basic but beds were comfy and room clean.Friendly staff.Perfect for a short break on a budget!

I think this hotel is very good for a 2 star hotel. I expected to share a bathroom but we got our own shower room. That was exclent. We were at a location at the hub of activity. Only a walk away from a good crepe and sandwich bar and an ireish bar and a duch bar, everything a none french speeking english person needs.

the victoria is a basic but clean hotel.it is situated very close to 2 metro stations so it is very convenient for getting any where in paris. there are plenty of bars & bistros close at hand so eating is no problem. all in all i would say the victoria is a good base to see the city from and i would consider using it again when we go back to paris

The rooms were a little on the small side and would have benefited from air conditioning but then when you are exploring a city like Paris, you're rarely there!
The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly, breakfast was basic but served a purpose...
Location is fabulous!
