Staff at the hotel are extremely friendly despite the location of this hotel. It does not mention that it is in fact in the rough area of Tenderloin. The first two blocks either way from the hotel in particular are really bad which left us feeling unsafe coming to and from the hotel at any time of day.
The cost of the rooms reflect this and if you feel ok about where it is you are fairly central within walking distance for the shopping district.
Rooms were basic, bed linen clean with some cigarette burns. TV had basic channels. Breakfast is on a first come basis.
Despite this we had a great time in San Francisco.
