Best choice!

03 July 2008
We stayed at the Venecia for five days in 2008 - and are very satisfied with the hotel! The two stars that the hotel's grade is must be too low! Easy to reach, splendid location, nice, clean and a fair breakfast - that's what counts! We just missed TV channels in anything else than Spanish, but you can live with that also.....

Very central with nice view of fountain but a very tiny room with old beds. Free internet access which was easily available. Bathroom OK. Good price for location.

This hotel fullfills all your needs for a short city break. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The hotel is close to all the shops and restaurants. It is set in a beautiful square with a fountain so the view from the room was interesting. The hotel was noisy on the Saturday night but you have to put up with that in the middle of a city. An excellent hotel I would certainly book again. Congratulations Alpharooms for having such good hotel for us to choose from.

Fantastic Location!!

03 January 2008
We stayed at the Venecia for New Year 2008 and had a fantastic time. Hotel is friendly, clean and has lots of character! The best location to stay in Valencia, its close to a metro station with links to the airport and the rest of this fabulous city!! Great choice!!

Good Choice !

06 November 2007
Stayed at the Venecia during the Moto GP weekend and what was very commendable was the price for such a good location. Most places I would have expected to hike theirs up but not in this case. Hotel was pleasant-seems to have recently been renovated. Rooms are spacious enough and very clean and tidy. Had a room overlooking the main square which did prove to be a bit noisy on occasion but that is only to be expected. Did not sample the breakfast. Location wise it was a dream, right in the centre of everything, less than 5 mins from the main train station (at the circuit in less than 30 mins all in) and with a taxi rank right outside. Snacks and drinks machines in lobby useful with internet connection. Only complaint were the 2 single beds as opposed to a double. Staff really friendly. Pub and restaurant right by front door though food in Valencia left a lot to be desired. Would highly recommend the Venecia to anyone who fancies a no frills cheap weekend.

Great Value

06 October 2007
A friend and I visited Valencia for the Chelsea Champions League game. As mentioned in other reviews, our room had no view and no light. However, it was clean, the air con worked and is in an unbeatable location for the price. I would definately stay again, and will recommend it to friends. We took the Metro from the airport; 1.70 Euros, under half an hour, and only five minutes from the hotel. It is not the place to stay for luxurious comfort, but for a clean room, good bathroom and central location, it is hard to believe it can be beaten on value.

Great place

04 September 2007
This hotel was very well situated, close to railway station and right in the middle of town. Yet very quiet. The air conditioning was great!!! The staff are very friendly although some have trouble with English but if you speak slowly it works out fine. Only slight downside is only having one computer with free internet to use. Place was very clean and tidy. Would have expected it to be a 3* at least with the quality of service and presentation.

Most Enjoyable

12 June 2007
Visited the Venecia Hotel for a long weekend - was surprised that this supposedily 2* Hotel was much better than you would expect. The rooms were very clean and we had a view of the Plaza Square and the Fountain which was marvellous. Visited the beach via bus which we got to via Bus no 32 direct - purchased a Bonobus ticket for 10 tickets for only 5.45 Euros (which worked out around 40p per use - very good value for money). Breakfast time could be busy, but plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and overall I would visit this Hotel again. The only downside to this hotel was that there is no Pool, but bearing in mind you are in a City - great for City break, but beach within 20 min bus ride.

Hotel venecia - Great Location

27 May 2007
Had a mid week break in Valencia last week. Thought hotel Venecia was in a great location, within walking distance from the metro station, which goes staright from the airport for 1.70 euros (can't be beaten). Hotel quite adequate for a short stay rooms clean and modern had a side view of the plaza and fountain, free safe which was a bonus. Breakfast room could get busy, but not really a problem, enough items on menu to satisfy most people on a short break. Did a few of the museums, particularly liked the ceramic museum. Went to the beach one really nice and got to see the exhibition for the Americas Cup and see how the other half live!. Overall a good place for a short break and hotel Venecia was great value for money. Marlene Green, Wigan Lancs Girls city break (32-60)

Excellent Hotel

13 May 2007
Just got back from a three night break in Valencia and the hotel is great. Excellent value for money well located (5 mins walk from the train station, 5 mins walk from the main plazas and 5 mins walk from the metro station that takes you to the airport - what more could you want?). The room itself had the worst view I have ever seen in my life (a brick wall) but it was very quiet and other rooms did look out onto the plaza with large windows so there are better rooms in the hotel. The bathroom and shower were fantastic, the room was spotless (the maid had a knack of sneaking into our room whilst we were at breakfast and cleaning it for us) and the breakfast was tasty with a great view of the plaza. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Valencia - it even only takes about 30 mins to get to the beach!

Great value hotel

30 April 2007
Wonderful situation in the centre of Valencia. Large clean room, comfy bed, good shower, decent breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. O.k. it didn't have a pool, a jacuzzi, a gym or fluffy towelling robes but who needs these when you're on a short break and there's so much to see and do? With our cheap Easyjet flights this was a real bargain break.

This is a wonderfully placed hotel to get anywhere and everywhere in Valencia.  The breakfast room overlooks the Plaza de Ayuntamiento so there is lots to see while indulging in the self-service breakfast which has a range of meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, teas, coffee, cereal and cakes.

Bedrooms are very comfortable and well decorated and the bathrooms are well provided with shampoo, mouthwash, etc.   An excellent feature in the rooms is a free safe.

You are a short walk from buses and the Metro but, most importantly, the main attractions of the old City are all achievable on foot.

On checkout day, if you want to leave your cases, they have a good set of cupboards which you can lock them in.

excellent location. Fairly basic hotel - almost hostel style. However the room was adequate and the staff friendly and helpful. It's incredibly cheap and I guess they could perhaps charge a little bit more due to the great location. Very clean, non-smoking rooms that don't smell of tobacco (!),seemed to have web access in reception too. I'd stay there again. Great if you're on a budget.

26 February 2007
Reading all the other reviews I would say they sum up the Venecia very well.  Our room was on the 7th floor at the front of the hotel with splendid views of the square and in particular the fountain.  The entrance to the hotel was a bit odd and very definitely under construction but it didn't affect our stay and the workmen seemed very polite.  The lift we used was a bit out of the way and we had to haul our heavy cases up and down a number of steps to get to it but that didn't kill us - it potentially might have killed off the older and less able traveller though! The room was quite noisy (to be expected from traffic and fountain) but this was mainly only an issue because we couldn't get the double glazing to close properly at night and weren't bothered enough by it to do anything about it.  The room was really large and spacious with no luxurious touches (no drawers for clothes, no pictures or mirrors) but for the price we paid and the amount of time we spent in the room it was perfectly acceptable.  The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. We had to ask for extra toilet roll as it had mysteriously disappeared one day but it was replenished within minutes. The man who checked us in spoke to us in excellent English and was friendly.  We were self catering so didn't experience breakfast. All in all knowing what I know now (take your own drying up cloth and washing up liquid for self catering option) I'd stay at the Venecia again and would recommend it as a budget option for it's excellent location.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The triple room was adequate and very clean with a large bathroom. The only down side was no tea/coffee facilities within the room. The breakfast was good with plenty of fresh choices. There was only one breakfast room and at times was busy. For the cost it was an excellent choice located central with good views of the city fountain. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and would not hesitate to go their again.

Venica hotel Football weekend

02 December 2006
I travelled to Valencia independently with my two boys, aged 13 & 14. We were dropped off by the airport bus near the train station & found the Veneica hotel quite easily. It was about a 5 min walk. The hotel is in an excellent location in the main square in Valencia. The hotel is excellent value for money,  our room was spotless & of a good size. The only quibbble was that we had no natural light as our window looked out onto a lift shaft at the back of the building. We didnt really mind as we didnt spend a great deal of time in the room. Our room was a triple of a decent size & perhaps the rooms at the front overlooking the square were all doubles? I would recommend asking for a room at the front even though i was informed they were somewhat noisy. Swings & roundabouts! Our intention was to watch the Valencia v Real Madrid match. We caught the 35 bus in the square to the stadium on the day before match day to find all tickets sold! I ended up buying off a tout for 90 euros a ticket which was marked up by 30 euros. (Still miles cheaper than the internet rip off merchants).Atmosphere was fantastic & at all times with 2 young lads did we feel safe. Valencia is a beautiful city, modern in parts & historical in others. Everything is reasonbly priced.Would visit again & stay at the Venecia due to its excellent value in a 4* location.

Very central hotel, only 2 minutes walk from the main train station and 6 miutes form the cathedral. Staff pleaseant and friendly and on realising we were a couple quickly offered up a double rather than a twin room. The room however had a window that looked out onto a concrete wall!! Didn't really matter though, it was clean and kep that way during our three night stay. For a cheap and cheerful central hotel, I would recommend it - if a view is important to you, pay more!!

This is a basic tourist class hotel occupying a corner plot overlooking the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The first floor breakfast room and many of the corner bedrooms have a fantastic view of the spectacular fountain in the square which is beautifully illuminated at night.

The indistinct Reception entrance is in the Calle En Llop, a pedestrianised street which can’t be accessed by taxis.

Some upgrading of the hotel has taken place and behind the early 20th Century façade a contemporary design approach has been adopted with slate tiling and wooden flooring.

Apart from reception and the breakfast room there are no other public areas.
My corner non smoking room on the third floor was a reasonable size with air conditioning, comfortable double bed and clean linen. Adequate wardrobe space, hangers and good lighting. The bathroom functioned well with plenty of hot water and a powerful shower. As with any city centre hotel noise was an issue. But after 11 p.m. the fountain was turned off and local clocks had their chimes stopped. Traffic noise also subsided between midnight and 6:00 a.m.

Self service continental style breakfast was more than adequate with ample choice. The breakfast room is small and sharing a table with other guests was occasionally necessary.

There are a few restaurants/tapas bars in the vicinity and inevitably some of the international fast food chains such as Burger King.

The location is very central.5 minutes walk to the easy to use Metro system,  (A day ticket coasts 3.10 Euros) 2 minutes to the market area and 5 minutes main shopping area (El Corte Ingles etc), 10 minutes to the Cathedral,  20 minutes by Metro to the beach.

Taxi fare from the airport was 20 Euros.

Overall verdict – perfectly adequate for a short city break of 2 or 3 days.

The Venecia really deserves more stars. It has made the very best of its central location. My room was stylish and functional. When I needed a minor repair, the staff came running. The reception staff were friendly and knowledgable. If you have the opportunity, request a room, like the breakfast room, overlooking the Placa Ayunament with its spectacular fountain.  The hotel seems to have "hostal" status because it shares an entrance  of one building( make sure you follow the signs!) Do ask the staff if you need anything, as they are very helpful.
I won't hesitate to stay there again with alpharooms.

Absolutely brilliant, fabulous location.
We stayed at the Ventian for 3 nights, 1st time in Valencia for us, and we would deinitely go back again. The hotel couldn't have been in a better location, right bang central in the city, 2 mins walk to bars behind cathedral, shops on the doorstep and 10 mins drive to the beach, which was lovely and clean. beautiful promenade with plenty of restaurants.

The hotel was quite basic, rooms were small but had everything and were recently refurbished and very clean. Only thing we could complain about would be breakfast room was too small, and there was only one double wardrobe in the room, no drawers, so if we had been staying longer, there was only enough room to hang our clothes, but we wouldn't have complained about that cos it ticked nearly all the boxes for us. The breakfast was really nice too which was included. The price we paid was brilliant, only £36 per double room per night. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, EXCELLENT LOOCATION, EXCELLENT VALUE, BEAUTIFUL CITY.

Very central location with numerous bars, restaurants & some excellent shops within a few minutes walk, as is the Cathedral and Railway Station. Accomodation is fairly basic but clean and welcoming and real value for money. Breakfast Room has great views over the Plaza and food on offer was fresh and more than adequate for anyone not requiring 'sausages, eggs bacon and fried bread'!! An ideal location for a short stop-over in Valencia and a 15 €uro taxi ride from the Airport at Manises.
Would certainly go there again for a short, inexpensive break.

I had read all the previous reviews on the hotel prior to our stay. Thanks to the writers,I felt well informed ! The hotel was in a superb location, and the our room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was 5 out of 5, such a good powerful shower. Our room was 501,and sadly did not have the best of views, but we came to see Valencia and were not looking for a panoramic view, from what is for us , essentially somwhere to sleep. The breakfast room gave us this view, and the food selection was excellent. The local tourist bus was a few minutes from the hotel, and many bus routes were also nearby. We used the "Aerobus" from the airport at a cost of 2,50 Euros each. This being just under a 15 minute walk to the hotel. Would recommend.

Best thing about this hotel was its very central location and the buffet breakfast.  Room overlooked the town square so was a bit noisy especially so when the nightclub/entertainment venue across the other side of the street was in operation.  Beds were comfortable but room was not warm (at end December). Had to get up early to get hot water and soap disappeared from the bathroom after day one.  TV didn't work properly but we didn't go to Valencia to watch TV!  Despite its drawbacks I would stay in the Venecia again as it is so near all of the main tourist sites, restaurants and bars and the shops.  What more could anyone want.

A super small Hotel in a top location for all the attractions the city has to offer at a very good price (compare with other Hotels which may be a little "flashier" but not in such a location). Rooms are fine for 2/3 - the first had no view but we were moved to 435 without asking and had a fantastic view over Alyamento Plaza and Fountain. The room had Air Con - a plus for a Hotel of this Category - nice bathroom and newly decorated. The Reception staff were very helpful and spoke several languages.
The front rooms can be a little noisy but not a problem at night and added to the atmosphere in the daytime. Like previous reviews, couldn't find the swimming pool, walk & only 8km from the Airport, taxi approx 10euros.
Made the mistake of booking room only, would recommend B&B, very good value breakfast on the 2nd floor cafe, much better value than local Cafetirea,Valencia can be expensive in parts.
Very close to several Resaurants, French, Italian, Spanish & also a "Hard Rock" style Burger Rest, great atmosphere, dozens of other restaurants to be discovered, really spoilt for choice. Places to see are too numerous to mention but don't miss the Central Market or for the shopaholics the Clos de Ingles. Sorry we didn't book for longer, next time we will as the City has so much to offer and in the end had to dash to make our flights.

Would recommend Alpha Rooms for the Booking, excellent service and will use again.

The Venecia hotel is in an excellent location right in the centre of the city within wasy walking distance of the city's many attractions. Our room was excellent and overlooked the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with it's impressive fountain and bustling cafe crowds.
The hotel itself was very nicely decorated and very clean everywhere. Our room was of ample size for 2 and was very clean and pleasantly decorated and had just about everything we needed, although it could have done with a few more coathangers or a couple of drawers. There was an electronic safe in the room and there was no deposit or fee to pay to use it which made a nice change.
The breakfast room was good, there was plenty of variety - cereals, croissants and pastries, bread rolls, meats and cheeses, fruit and fruit salad and jams etc as well as a variety of drinks. If you required something that wasn't there the staff were more than happy to get you what you wanted.

The city does have a strange drain smell every now and then but luckily we were at the front of the hotel on the fifth floor so we never smelt it inside our room or in the hotel itself.

We found all the staff to be quite friendly and happy to help and I would recommend the hotel to others.

The only downside to our stay was the noise. Because we were overlooking the square it was fairly noisy even at night as the doors weren't very soundproof, other than that I think it was very good value for money and I will go there again if I return to Valencia and recommend the hotel to others.

Location wise, this hotel really hits the jackpot, as you are within walking distance to all major attractions within the city.

There is a dodgy aroma that seems to waft through the city during summer time, an old european city type sewage smell and unfortunately that aroma seemed to make it into one of our rooms for a large part of our stay. However overall the rooms were very clean, tidy and air conditioned though not all have a magnificent view or balcony - one of our rooms had a wall of concrete with just an ounce of natural light. I guess the moral of that story is ask for a room with a view.

Breakfast is basic but good and overall the Venecia Hotel is very good value for money....contrary to other reviews though there is definitely no swimming pool, we asked several different members of staff on several different occassions during our stay!

Valencia as a city is great - you can have it all, beaches, sun, great food, drink and shopping and the Venecia Hotel sits right in the heart of it all. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travellers in terms of its location, cleanliness and value for money.

Great Location and a Terrific Bargain

If you want to be in the centre of Valencia and not pay mega bucks then this is the place to be.  You literally have everything at your fingertips. The modernista Estacio del Nord is a minute away and the Mercado Central (Placa del Mercat), Placa de la Reina and Placa de la Virgen take only a few minutes to get to.

It is a shoppers paradise and also only a short bus ride away from the beach. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast overlooking the beautiful Plaza del Ajuntament - buffet breakfast includes tortilla, ham and sausages, cheeses, cereals, fruit, loads of pastries, juices and plenty of tea and coffee.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern and the staff very helpful and friendly.  Although the reception area is quite small, you have free access to the internet (15 mins) and there are machines where you can buy cold drinks and coffee.

On top of all this the hotel also has a swimming pool - it really can't get any better. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try it.
