Great Holiday
07 August 2008
Have been to this hotel before and must say was great again! Staff are very helpful and do everyting they can to help you. We stayed in the self catering apartments as we like to be able to make the occasional sandwich and most of all have a fridge for drinks. Although, we did go half board. The food is good and there is plenty of choice every day. the apartments are very basic but kept very clean. We had a problem with the Air Con when we arrived but within an hour the engineer had been round, cleaned the filters and it was all sorted. hotel has gym, indoor pool, massive out door pool, arcades, daily sports/games for children and adults, night time shows etc and lots more. The shows are not the best and could do with a bit more investment!! we hire a car so we can go off when ever we want but getting to shops etc is easy on the bus (couple of mins). All in all this is a great hotel for adults and children.

Perfect Family Holiday
15 July 2008
Just spent two weeks with our children and two other families and would recommend this as an ideal family vacation spot! The island is delightful and Son Bou and this hotel are well situated for exploring the island (certainly hire a car). The staff are wonderful and very helpful even though most guests seem to come on package tours and have their own tour agents to consult. There is plenty at the hotel to occupy families on days that you don't feel like going out--the pools are great, the food was wonderful, the children's club staff were very kind. The bus to the beach was very convenient and we always had a seat--it is the longest beach on the island with a long shallow stretch perfect for children. We were a bit disappointed that the half-board plan included no drinks in the evening (not even water!), but we were otherwise very happy that we chose half board instead of all inclusive. Strongly recommend this hotel to families!

Great Hotel
27 June 2008
Spent 2 weeks at the hotel and enjoyed every minute. From past experience half-board clients suffer poorer service if hotel offers All inclusve, but this was not the case here. the bus service down to the beach is great. It is a 28 seater and operates every 30 minutes. There is a very varied choice of food in the Reataurant and the chefs are happy to specially prepare food for anyone with allergies. This is without doubt an excellant Family Hotel.

Just come back from this hotel. Stayed there 11years ago and much does not seem to have changed. Hotel although very clean is a bit tired looking and really does need updating and refurbishing. Found the food to be very bland, breakfast's were the best meal of the day. Didn't go round the pool too many children for us. Staff very pleasant.

2 weeks at the valentin
29 September 2007
Just come back from 2 weeks at the valentin hotel, the hotel is fabulous, plenty of sunbeds so no need to save beds, the food good and staff friendly and spoke good english. Hotel on a steep hill but a transfer bus runs every 10 mins would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Recommended!
16 July 2007
Just returned after a week at the Valentin Son Bou Apartments. We are a family with 2 young children (3 and 1). Rooms are basic but very clean, one bedroom and a living room with sofa that converts to a bed - and it is actually very comfortable! The rooms are in the process of being refurbished, we stayed in one that had not been and we had no complaints. The refurbed rooms would be even better. My only quibble would be that the maids do not clean the apartments on a daily basis, came to clean ours twice during our stay. The hotel pool area was extremely clean, plenty of sunbeds and a notice stating that people should not leave towels on beds to reserve! The food at the hotel was good, a large variety available every day, for those who love fish and seafood it wll be heaven. We were all-inclusive and food was available througout the day from either the restaurant or the poolside cafe. The evening entertainment for kids was mediocre, seem to be the same 45 minute routine each night- only suitable for younger kids. The aduly entertainment started at 10pm and was quality, lot of kids up to watch this too. They have professional acts each evening, we had the four tops, a soul/swing night, the Beijing acrobats and a magician.
Whilst the hotel is a mile from the beach the courtesy bus runs regularly and is used by a great many.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, you really couldn't ask for more. We talked to a lot of guests durng our stay and all but one were very happy with their stay at the hotel/apartments. My wife liked it so much she wants to go back next year!

Review Son Bou - good for families
03 July 2007
We came here in late June 2007. The hotel is clean & comfortable, the food is good and we found the staff to be extremely helpful, polite, friendly and always smiling. We did half board and rented a car so we didn't spend much time on the hotel complex but from what we could see the facilities were good. (If you are all inclusive you can order a packed lunch from the hotel and go out for the day). The coutesy bus down to the beach went at frequent intervals and the beach itself is lovely and because it is very long didn't get crowded - especially going towards the western end which becomes increasingly 'clothing optional'. The entertainment was a bit patchy but ok.
The only reservation I would have about recommending the hotel to everyone is that it attracts a lot of young families which can mean a fair amount of noise - if your baby is yelling at the dinner table you can rest assured it won't be the only one!

It wasn't our type of Hotel..
26 March 2007
Me and a couple of young friends (Early 20's), stayed at this Hotel for 7 nights. We thought the nightime entertainment was going to be partying with other people our age, but it seemed to be mostly families. Quiet, calm and peaceful. Not good for youngsters. No noise no nearby nightclubs. Family and older people will enjoy.

Review of 'Valentin Son Bou Hotel and Apartments'
03 October 2006
Hotel was excellent, very clean and tidy although the rooms could probably benefit from a refurb. Entertainment a bit hit and miss although something on every night.Food was excellent but a bit of a battle sometimes if busy. Hotel not really within walking distance of Son Bou but hotel courtesy bus was very efficient ( if a litle crowded ~ standing room only ! ) I probably sound a bit down on the hotel but it really was excellent and these are only minor points. Highly recommended especially if you have a young family. Would definitely hire a car from the Euoropcar office situated in the hotel and visit Cala Galdana, Calan Porter and Mahon ( £77 for three days and diesel is only 70p a litre !!! )

Review of 'VALENTIN SON BOU APARTMENTS'
13 June 2006
Hotel was spot on, service was brill also the food was good, If i was to have a small problem it was that the food never seemed hot but it was nice all the same. I stoped there with my friend and we had a very nice time. It would be a good place to stay if you have a young family as plenty for them to do. But If you have walking problems be aware it is located on top of a very steep hill, From 10pm to 1 and 3 to 7 in the evening they put on a free bus to the town.but it can get full and you could be left to get a taxi it costs 8euros I found it a bit to layed back for me but familys and older people will love it. Its WELL worth 4****

Review of 'VALENTIN SON BOU'
19 July 2005
We found the hotel to be one of the best we have stayed in. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the facilities excellent, although no fridge in hotel rooms and no tea/coffee making facilities.Air Con and limited satelite TV in hotel rooms and daily maid service.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening entertainment was not too bad but a week is probably enough here as there is very little on offer in the resort itself. The food was of a good standard although this could have been kept a little hotter at times. The hotel is very isolated up an extremely steep hill but the courtesy bus is frequent every 30 mins up to 7pm.,down to the beach and resort centre. The beach is long and clean but sunbed and parasol hire is expensive. Few places to eat out in Son Bou and a small variety of shops.
Probably a good idea to hire a car if you want to travel around as the local bus service is very poor and spending more than a couple of days in Son Bou would become very repetitive. Sun beds at hotel are brilliant with a table and large parasol for every 2 beds and always available at any time of day.
All in all an excellent holiday for just chilling out in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Would visit this hotel again, but only for a week and would definitely hire a car.
