We visited Cyprus in May 2004 and of the different types of accommodation i have stayed in over the past couple of years these were by far the best. On arriving at the apartments we were greeted by a lady at the desk and althought she did not speak fluent english she was still very polite and made us feel welcome. The rooms were more than acceptable, they were very spacious and very clean with a nice balcony area to relax when the sun was setting. The rooms were cleaned every single day by very friendly cleaning staff who always did an excellent job, there were always fresh towels and clean sheets on the bed. The only problem we had with the apartments was that the electricity would turn itself off on its own, this was quickly resolved by the staff when we reported the fault.
The pool area of the apartments was very clean and well presented but we prefered to sit round by the hotel pool area just round the corner; this pool was amazing - very large, very clean and beautiful palm tree surroundings. As we went all inclusive we ate at this hotel every day - i would highly recommend the meals here, there was plenty to choose from, definitely somthing for everyone.
Our apartments were situated about a 5 minute walk from a small local food shop which sold the basics such as bread and milk, sugar as well as plenty of gifts to take home. There were a few other shops in that area which sold more or less the same thing and the apartments are about a 5 - 6 minute walk from Protaras Beach. We never actually visited this part of the beach but we travelled further up to a place called Fig Tree Bay, beautiful stretch of beach to visit if you get the chance.
There is so much to see in and around Protaras, such as the small town of Paralamini about a 10 minute drive from the apartments. (The ghost town of Farmagusta, and some spectacular scenery of the coast that you can view from the small and very pretty church at the North of Protaras.)
