que disappointment!

Excellent location & terrific view from room on 23rd floor though no real balcony area to sit out on.. Airport bus, C6 from stand 30, drops you virtually outside hotel at cost of 1 euro! Now for the bad bits! Room very depressing & shabby in terms of fixtures, fittings & furtniture. Bed & bathroom very clean but no toiletries in bathroom. Soap dispenser above baisin & bath very hard to squeexe soap out of! No communal areas to speak of in hotel. I would not stay here again.

Review of 'Tryp Gran Sol'

Spent five days over half term at the Tryp Gran Sol, Alicante.  Stayed on 25th floor, the restaurant is on the 26th.  The views over Alicante and the marina are stunning.  Hotel clean but air conditioning ineffective.  It was very noisy and therefore needed to be shut off in order to get a good nights sleep.  Thank goodnesss it wasn't in July or August as the heat in the room would have been unbearable !  Some nice shops in the town and market on a Thursday and Saturday morning. You can catch a little train on the front and it will take you to Benidorm, however, you will need to change trains on the way.  Plenty of good restaurants in the town and within easy walking distance of the Hotel.  A nice town to go for a long weekend.

Stayed at the Tryp Gran Sol two females first time in Alicante Dec 2005 for the weekend. It was perfect with the most amazing views of the marina,the beach and the town. Saturday nightlife is buzzing in town and down on the marina,mid week quiet thou in dec.This hotel is perfectly positioned for everything. It is clean, service excellent and the restaurant is classy and with stunning views and great food all in all I would recommend this hotel especially to couples and singles. In fact cant wait to go again in three weeks time :-)
