Excellent
18 October 2008
Just want to say i had a good time at this hotel. i recomend this hotel not for familys as there were way to much noise for us people to have a good time. the hill isnt that bad after a few drinks. The only problem was shortage of sunbeds and we diddnt fancy wakeing up very early to grab a sunbed. Other then dat the staff were friendly the securty gard wasent as you could image. The mads did a good job.

Forget the hill, the dog is the problem!
29 September 2008
I have just arrived back from a long weekend at the TRH Palmanova 25th Sept-28th Sep 2008.
After reading reviews I wasnt expecting much but my first thoughts were the hotel was basic and clean which is all you want for the price.
If you are fit and healthy the hill wont bother you, its not as bad as its made out to be however we were in room 810 which is adjacent to the house accross the road which has two dogs and a cage full of birds.
You can almost sleep through the noise of people shouting in the streets cos you know they will eventually move on however, the dog is a different story. It barked continuously, right through the night. Even lots of alcohol and listening to music did not drown it out. Then about 5am the cockerel started and that went on for hours!
We asked reception twice if we could be moved and they said no and were not really helpful at all.
We have came home from what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend feeling shattered as sleep was limited.
This is the first time Ive ever written a review but felt I had to warn people cos if you are at that side of the hotel you will be disturbed!!!

returned 16/9/08
27 September 2008
This hotel was clean and the pool was ok,but the noise at night was rediculous at times. the bedrooms are right on the corridor so u hear every high heel clunking away and every conversation... (which sometimes u wished u really wasnt hearing!).oh and that bloody dog and rooster.all dogs in majorca are small...i dont know how this one made so much noise!
the kettle in the room was annoying too.it took an hr to boil!!
the hotel is in a good location however, not far from the magalluf strip or the beach, and the florida restaurant on the corner (1 min away) has really friendly staff and good food at good prices. wud i go again?possibly not to that hotel,id probably choose a family one next time.

review
20 September 2008
The hotel itself is situated close to all the pubs clubs and the beautiful beach. The factilities in the hotel are good and the pools lovely. It vcan however be quite noisey in the early hours of the morning with revellers returning home from a good night small price to pay for convience. Two things I would like to warn people of, that have nothing to do with the hotel (1)just across the street is a transfer t-shirt shop that charges 30 euro a t-shirt you can get the same for about 8euros farther down the strip and (2) when walking in pama nova you get to a part where there is a theme style chinese resturant near a pub called banana joes (you can't miss it. There are people there giving you lottery tickets don't do it ( its timeshare con and will cost you hours of your holiday)

The best hols
04 September 2008
I have just came back from my holiday here and it was the best holiday of my life. We came here in may and enjoyed it so much we had to come back. I am 17 and went with my mum dad sister and nan and there was something for every1. The entertainment is fantastic especially for the children as there was always stuff going on in the pool and there was alot going on for adults aswell. The hill is steep but it really didnt bother us. I made the best of friends with the entertaiers as they are the lovliest people you will meet and we promised to keep in touch.
THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER.

gr8 hotel. what noise?
28 August 2008
just returned on 21/08/08 after 11 great days & nights at trh palmanova.
Hotel really clean n staff v. friendly. kids well entertained around the pool. Didnt have any stags or hens, mainly families. We did ask for a quiete room which we got, only problem was a dog barking & chickens clucking quite often. Hill may be a problem if you have walking difficulties but didnt bother us. Great places to eat n drink. Happy House 2 on the beach front very cheap & good quality food. The DJ in the prince william a scream. looking to go back in a few weeks.

Irish
25 August 2008
We stayed there with children aged between 8-11 years on week beginning 13 August 08. It was extremely noisy the 1st night. We were disappointed with the entertainment at night which was almost non-existance. The lifeguards were very nice and did thier best to entertain the kids. During the day we found the other guests mannerly and considerate. The kids loved the fact that they could use the pool early morning to late night provided an adult supervised them. The staff at reception were very friendly. I would never go back to this place because of the noise at night and the street cleaning machine which started at 6am. It sounded like a chain saw or very noisy strimmer. An electric kettle wasnt provided in our apt and the other kettle was awful slow to boil on the cooker rings. Not the worst experience but wont be back. Didnt meet any Irish either!

noisey
26 July 2008
we stayed at the trh for 1 week on the 17th july 08lovely hotel really clean maid sevice was good and the pool was brilliant.the staff were friendleybut the entertainment was when they could be bothered. I would not recommened this hotel for families as the noise of a night was awful it was full of stag and hens running up and down corridors slamming doors and screaming and shouting. Also their was a large dog barking and chickens making noise most of the families there were all complaining but the hotel did nothing. There is a very steep hill leading to the hotel which was a bit of a killer if you have a buggy with you. All in all it was ok for a weeks holiday for the price we paid and the resort itself was lovely plenty to do and great beaches but please if you are a family its a no no in the peak season.

18 July 2008
these apartments are not for family,s from the hours of 12pm to 7am as the vast majority of residents are 18 to 30 clubbers. between 7am tomidnight the apartments and pool are good for family,s because the noise buckets are sleeping .to the young ones reading this the family,s showed respect during the day pity yous did,nt do the same at night.to parents dont dial 9 for securaty because they dont speak english and do nothing about the noise.never ever again so family,s be WARNED......

Amazing!
02 July 2008
Me and 5 other of my girlfriends have just returned from palma nova appartments, the hill was nothing in my opinion yes it will keep you fit however at around 6 in the mornin, when your pretty much gone it felt likie to seconds, the rooms were really nice and clean and the pool was beaut, i wouldnt reccomend this place for families due to the fact there wer a large number of young groups staying there. The appartments are more or just outside the strip of magaluf and takes a maximum one minuete to get to the wild streets of magaluf, met a group of loads round the pool and went on to having some insane nights, loved evry minuete of it woooooooop!

Rockin out at the TRH
25 June 2008
A group of girlies wanting a fun and friendly getaway package arrived at the TRH Palmanova to be nothing but happy with what we got. with exceptional value for money, the hotel staff were chatty and accommodating (with one gent banging a vending machine 2 get my stuck crisps out at approx 3 in the morn!) and a room that was clean and fairly spacious. near enough to everything a young group of gals could want-the beach, restaurants, and nightlife-the location was close enough to be in the hub of the action, but far enough away from the noise and rowdyness. the hill was a slight down point, but it certainly gave us a gd work out, and the lively pool area was always there to splash into when we needed refreshin! all in all we had a wicked hol and would defo recommend this place!!

The hill
03 June 2008
The price was excellent. Located nicely for access to both the beaches of Palma Nova and Magalluf. Hotel was pleasant and staff friendly. Noise was fine (except for small dog with large bark out the back). I wouldn't recommend for families or older people (due to hill) and also due to the proximity of the nightlife of Magulluf. Stag and Hen parties can be found in abundance. Would also recommend Godfathers for the food.

Enjoyed TRH Palmanova, clean enough and noise isn't so bad. The only bad part was the rude woman who worked in the restaurant at breakfast time...

TRH PALMANOVA, see you next summer!
16 August 2007
Very good price. We've already been there last year. Excellent location between Magalluf and Palma Nova - so you can choose everyday which beach... The staff are very kind and friendly. The maid service could clean a little bit better...but they change towels very often.

Excellent value!
09 July 2007
My husband and I returned from our holiday at TRH Palmanova apartments yesterday. Had a great time - yes,it's a bit noisy at night, but as it's located right on the edge of Magaluf then we didn't expect any less. It's in an excellent location (okay so it's most of the way up a hill, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting!), ideally placed for both Palma Nova and Magaluf beaches and nightlife (so you can opt for quieter or more lively evenings!) and apartments were cleaned daily. Staff very friendly. Would particularly recommend to young groups and young couples, but my mum would've hated it! For food, recommend 'Godfathers' in Magaluf but gets busy, so best to get there early....

That Blooming Hill
01 July 2007
Party of 6 - 42,41,21,20,16 & 12 booked through alpharooms on the internet for a very good price 16th to 30th June 2007 self catering.
We stayed at the Barcello 5 years ago when the kids were younger and it was more for families then, with free pop & ice cream all day for kids even though we were self catering, with daytime & nightime entertainment for kids and adults.
Since then it is now more for Stags & Hens who party all night.
We knew this before we went so knew the weekends were going to be noisy, what we didn't expect were the young groups of unsupervised Spannish teenagers who sat drinking, shouting & playing football till 5am all the first week.
The entertainment first week was almost non existent but nobody was up during the day & nobody stopped at night, so we could understand why.
The second week they were getting the kids club ready & my youngest & his friend Dan played games with the reps & even joined them doing Grease on our last night.
The apartments are still very tidy & clean with the maids coming at least 3 or 4 times each week changing bedding & towels whenever they needed too and cleaning round.
We never ate there this year as we were mostly out and about and the majority found the food at The Robin Hood Cafe the best (just down hill turn right at Florida) but there are so many places we ate which were all good.
The best value for a night out has to be BCM 25euros before midnight with all you can drink & dancing till dawn, my elder kids loved it. They all loved Western World & Aqualand and there was loads to do on the beaches all day.
Wife loved Bingo at Ruby Tuesdays but kids liked DJ (and free kids cocktails) at Prince William but there is so much to do at nights we have come home for a rest.
Apartments - Great
Weather - Superb
Nightlife - Brilliant
PR's outside every pub - Annoying at times.
Location - When they tell you it is on a hill believe them, up & down that thing 4 times a day keeps you fit but it is murder at 4am.

That Hill!
20 June 2007
I stayed at this hotel June 2007 with my partner. Found apartments very clean and tidy, kitchen was basic but as I dont use it didnt bother us that much. staff were very helpful indeed-no complaints. That hill does get to you especially on a night good for the legs though. Our apartment backed onto the street and only heard "the dog" once or twice-not that bad. Overall would go back again and recommend it.

getting old!!!!
19 May 2007
just got back from the barcello {now called trh palma nova} had a nice chilled out time but am i getting old or is the hill getting steeper!! as other people have said the florida is a very nice place for breakfast or evening meal and the staff very friendly, im not sure if it is for young families as the day before we left a group of 12 lads booked in and were noisey, but remember this is magaluf so noise is to be expected, and yes the barking dog is still at it day and night, must be lonely, but i would recommend this hotel, you can even watch the young fools on the bungy, god they must be mad

05 October 2006
We are at Palma Nova apartments at the minute and are having a fantastic time apart from the hill the location is brilliant for all ages. There is something to do for everyone.
The apartment itself couldnt be better with hygiene, entertainment and staff being really good. The only downfall to the apartment is the dog across the road who barks quite a lot! We would highly recommend this hotel is you dont mind the steep hill.

Review of 'Barcelo Palmanova'
12 August 2006
Positives: Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, and the cleanliness of the hotel is first class both with the room's and around the complete complex. Pools were of good size and this was the first year I did not have to get up at six in the morning to fight to reserve sunbeds, as there were plenty on offer. Hotel situated in a very good location for what ever mood you are in, but the reviews on the steep hill are no joke even if you are fit and healthy this hill is a challenge for anybody, approx 5 minutes walk from the bars and clubs of Magaluf to the left of the hill and 5 minutes walk to the more quiter bars of Palmanova to the right of the hill. Supermarket just next door to complex and next to that is the Florida restuarant which I would strongly recommend for both breakfast and evening meal, based on quality, service and price. Family bar Ruby Tuesday's is a must if you fancy a good family night out as it cater's for all ages.
Negatives: Advertised daily and evening entertainment via the on-site reps, is very poor for all ages so if you are the kind that likes to sit round the pool of an evening and watch a show, then you will be dissapointed. There were a few big groups of younger people on the complex, so if you have a young family then this may not appeal to you, but I will say that during our stay there were some younger families which from what I seen were not intimidated by this.
Overall: Myself and family had a great time both at the resort and Barcelo apart/hotel, and I would recommend the Barcelo apart/hotel to all, and I would consider returning in the future.

29 June 2006
This is the third time i have stayed here from 1992 to 2006 and apart from the hill the location for all the bars and clubs is excellent. Just close enough to stagger home, but far enough so that you do not hear all the noise. However, i would say that this hotel is mainly occupied by younger people and may not suit families. With regards to the accomodation the rooms are clean and functional and the general condition of the hotel overall is excellent. Although iam now 35 i would recommend this Hotel for any one who is going away with friends for a party week or weekend.

This hotel was fabulous. It is at the top of very steep hill but its only 2 euros in a cab which is worth every penny. The staff in hotel are very helpful and friendly and there is always something going on day and night.Plenty of entertainment for the kids and 3 lovely pools. We had room 80? it overlooks pools and backs onto side road so you don't get any noise from late night revellers. The bar-b-q at hotel is 10.00 euros which is excellent value for money - eat what you want and large selection fresh fruit, ice creams and wonderful cakes all inc in price.5 min stroll from palma nova beach - all in all a fantastic holiday. Will defo go back.
