Review of 'EL PARAISO'
20 October 2006
WE STAYED AT THE HOTEL FOR A SHORT 4 DAY STAY ON ROUTE TO GIBRALTAR AND WISHED WE HAD BOOKED FOR A LONGER STAY, AS WE FOUND THE HOTEL TO BE OF A GOOD STANDARD AND VERY RELAXING. THE RECEPTIONIST THAT CHECKED US IN WAS VERY HELPFUL AND WE WERE ALLOCATED A ROOM WITH FABULOUS VIEWS OVER THE GARDENS, POOL AND GREAT VIEWS TO THE SEA. ON RETURNING TO OUR ROOM ON THE 2ND DAY, WE FOUND A BOTTLE OF A GOOD RIOJA WINE HAD BEEN LEFT FOR US AS A WELCOME GESTURE AS IT WAS OUR FIRST VISIT TO THE HOTEL,WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED. WE LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING AGAIN SOON.

Review of 'EL PARAISO'
22 August 2006
I have stayed at the El Paraiso before and it was as good as I remember. The rooms were spotless and well maintained every day (which is important with a young family). The pool facility was excellent and the gardens and general maintenance of the hotel first class. It is sufficiently off the main resort of Estepona to ensure a peaceful yet very accessable venue. I would thoroughly recommend it and the excellent deal from Alpha Rooms.

Excellent Hotel with lovely bar staff. The food was good except for the Italian Buffet, which for the price was very poor. Wonderful views from the rooftop bar.

Review of 'EL PARAISO'
07 July 2005
This is our 3rd visit to the El Paraiso and we would certainly return again. Its a slightly ageing hotel and its situated up in the hills so you really need a car to access it and to get around. They do provide a bus service to the beach though. This apart, it has extensive grounds, a beautiful pool, an indoor pool and spa with a gym. The staff are very friendly, the food good (not wonderful but very adequate). There is an on site Chinese Medical centre and for golfers, its only minutes from the El Paraiso golf course. Bookings for golf can be made at the hotel by speaking to Bridgette. The rooms are spacious and adequately appointed with TV, telephone and mini-bar. If you are fortunate enough to get a sea view room, the views are spectacular. The rear view rooms overlook the golf course and are equally spectacular. There is some entertainment most nights but its not exactly 'Las Vegas' standards. Still its not the place you go for that really. Can not really fault the hotel other than this and its a perfect base for trips out to Gibralta (45/60 mins), Estepona (30 mins) Puerto Banus (20 mins traffic permitting) and Marbella (35/45 mins subject again to the traffic in San Pedro). There are lots of local restaurants and some basic shops. Would definately recommend.

Review of 'EL PARAISO'
06 July 2005
Situated approx 45 minutes drive from Malaga airport, El Paraiso is situated up a hill about 1km from the main road. The hotel is fairly isolated, so would be ideal if you wanted to get away from the hussle and bussle of Puerto Banus, Estepona etc. The hotel does have a certain charm of faded grandeur about it - and you get the feeling that 10 years ago this was one of THE places to hang out.If golf rings your bell then there is a massive golf course right next to the hotel - be warned its very hilly though. El Parasio is about 10 minutes drive from the beach but has a huge swimming pool housed in a plush garden with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, there is a 'Tropical' Beach hut serving sandwiches and drinks throughout the day as well as the restaurant for lunch. Breakfast is of a very high standard with plenty selection of cheeses, fruits, egg dishes, breads and pastries and fresh juices. Within the hotel there is a roof top bar called 'Rontunda' which boasts stunning views - unfortunately this bar closed at 9pm when we stayed here, whcih seems crazy as watching the sunset from this bar would have been great. The rooms all have large balconies and are of a reasonable standard with mini bar, cable tv and hair dryers, they were clean, but basic, with large bathrooms. Staff were a mixed bunch really - with some very friendly and helpful with great english and some a bit standoffish with poor english. Given 80% of the guests were english holiday makers ( lots of older women and stag nights) it would make sense to have english speaking staff. All in all - great value for a weekend break and with easy access to the hot spots in Puerto banus (10 min drive approx 10E) El Paraiso is a good all rounder - as long as you don't expect luxury.
