Great Value
27 September 2008
I don't know what some of the critical reviewers expect for the money.
We paid £133, yes £133 for 8 nights at this motel and that was for two of us.
Ok it could do with a lick of paint and a new carpet, but the beds were clean, towels changed every day, air conditioning was icy cold if you wanted it (and it was over 90 outside, so we did!)
Aircon conked out one night at 10.30 pm and reception arranged for the engineer, who was still on site, to replace the air conditioner with a brand new unit.
By 11.30 he had finished and we were cool again.
Top class service.
You won't find cheaper in the USA than this.

Don't Go - cheap but not cheerful
27 August 2008
We booked for 17 nights in this hotel. We were given rooms unfit for any of our party of 15 to stay in. We were given updated which had been refurbished - these rooms were very basic but it was what we would of expected from this hotel - there is no way I would go back to this hotel - if you do have to stay here ask for a re-furbished room.

super value for money hotel
26 April 2008
I have been to orlando on holiday 13 times and this is the only hotel I have stayed in twice. The staff are very helpful. Had the odd problem with the room key, that was no big deal. Breakfast was free and set us up nicely for our visits to the parks.
Pool was fine with the added bonus of a poolside bar. Location was fab.about a 10 minute walk to universal and a couple of minutes walk to wet n wild and the heart of international drive.
Rooms were cleaned everyday, maids were greatbut the biggest plus was the cost of the hotel room. Very cheap. I am going again in sept.and booking with alpha rooms, which is the best and cheapest holiday reservation site on the net. Transportation to the theme parks are laid on for free Also I could have done with a fridge in my room though, for obvious reasons.

Cheap & cheerful
25 April 2008
We paid less that £9 per person, per night for our 10nt stay at this Travelodge. There was just the two of us (me, aged 30 and my Mum) so our room was very spacious. We had stayed here before and returned because we were happy with the cost and location. The hotel is 3-5 mins walk from I-Drive, the closest I-Ride trolley stop is number 7. There is a Denny's Diner and IHOP at either end of the cul-de-sac which is American Way. This hotel isn't the smartest place we've ever stayed but it is ok. We were in room 125, which was on the ground floor, on the pool side. We were at the end of the row, which was a plus. The pool is spacious with plenty of tidy sun loungers and towels provided. The bathroom was fine, clean enough, with a decent shower/good water pressure. The decor is pretty standard, most budget Orlando hotel rooms are the same. Don't expect too much from this hotel, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a reasonably comfortable place to lay your head after a busy day at the theme parks/malls/sunbathing, then this is great. The general cleanliness of the room left a little to be desired but bring a packet of multi-surface wipes and give the place a once over when you arrive and it'll be just fine! I would return to this hotel, it is so inexpensive and in a practical location.

Great hotel for the money! Fantastic Location!
07 December 2007
Travelled here as a spur of the moment thing at the start of Novembher. Great location, on stop 7 of the I-Ride trolley, which enables you to catch the main and the green lines (look this up on the internet if you don't know what this is). Clean room, had a few insects now and then by the cleaners leaving the door open when cleaning. Linen changed everyday, breakfast could be better but i brought my own cereal and got milk from downstairs. Quiet location, big pool although i didnt go in this whilst there, too busy shopping! Overall cannot fault it, we paid £150 for both of us for 9 nights which was really good!!

This hotel needs a spruce up. Our room smelt fusty and my husband had to fix the loo several times. Breakfast rubbish with a stodgy doughnut and weak coffee. On the positive, sheets were fresh everyday and good public transport links. Would only recommend it as a bed for the night. Swimming pool tiny but most people by a orlando flexiticket so you can go to wet and wild for free and only 5-10 mins walk away.

I would rate this as a two star motel
17 August 2007
I would not stay in this hotel again and glad i had only pre-booked three nights. It is very tatty breakfast v poor
and the staff allowed ducks to swim in the pool. not good if you wanted to swim in it as it was not cleaned after they had swam in it. We did not find the staff very helpfull. Alos had a problem as they told us theyu could not take travellers cheques unfortunatly we only had a little cash so we had to go to the manager to sort it out. went to Rodeway inn for extra 2$ 's a night was excellent lots of security lovely room excellent pool games rooms towels loads of sunbeds will highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent value for money
13 June 2007
We have stayed here twice on the basis that it is such good value for money. It's nothing fancy - your average motel room- but the big advantage is its proximity to universal studios. You can easily walk one way or both saving on the ever increasing car parking fees. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly, for the most part it's quiet (save the bing bing of the lift) and it's well situated on international drive. Breakfast is nothing special but a welcome bonus. PS please don't forget to tip the cleaners!

Review of 'TRAVELODGE ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL DRIVE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS'
12 April 2007
Very good value for money .Staff very helpfull and pleasant .Had few little problems with the key card locks, but where dealt with quickly and effectivly. For roughly £18 a day you get what You pay for.$2.50 a day charge for the phone and safe which at first seemed a bit much when you first arrive ,but that gives you local calls ,calls anywhere in the usa for nothing and when used with a $10 phone card you can phone uk landlines for the equivalent of 2- to 5 pa min .The safe in the room is also included in that $2.50 charge and you can also use the safe boxes at the front desk for no extra charge. The heated pool was a god send especaily since it was open to 10 or 11 pm at night .

Excellent value for money. The hotel is in a good location just off international drive. It is about 5 mins walk to the i-ride and about 10 mins walk to Wet and Wild. Very close to good shopping outlets and plenty of places to eat in he area.
The hotel itself is quite old and hasn't been refurbished in a while but we found the rooms to be clean & basic with a daily housekeeping service and very friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast is a nice bonus and pool area is nice and very clean. If you want a good location at an excellent price then you wont beat the rates that Alpha Rooms offer for this hotel. Don't expect the Ritz or anything near it but remember what you are paying and you won't be disappointed!!

HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM THIS HOTEL. EARLY OCTOBER. WAS A LITTLE APREHENSIVE DUE TO COMMENTS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES. HOTEL IS VERY BASIC BUT CLEAN. STAFF VERY HELPFUL, IF YOU ARE WANTING A HOTEL THAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN, THEN THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. HOWEVER IF YOU WANT A CHEAP BUDGET HOTEL AMD NOT THAT BOTHERED ABOUT THE DECOR OF THE ROOM, THEN YOU WILL BE OK WITH THIS HOTEL. REQUEST 2ND FLOOR UPWARDS. I THINK FIRST FLOOR WOULD BE NOISY. LOCATION IS EXCELLENT 5 MIN WALK TO INTERNATIONAL DRIVE WHERE YOU CAN CATCH I.DRIVE TROLLEY OR LYNX BUS. HOTEL LOCATED ONE STOP FROM WET AND WILD. DENNYS RESTAURANT 2 MINS WALK AWAY. TAXIS TO MAGIC KINGDOM $36. CAUTION REQUIRED WHEN BOOKING TAXIS WE USED THE YELLOW CABS. THERE ARE A LOT OF UNLICENSED ONES ROUND AND ABOUT!! BEWARE!!

Basic hotel - reasonably clean - coat of paint needed. Very good continental breakfast.Comfortable beds and very quiet. Unexpected compulsory $2.50 per night for safe and telephone. No cofee maker in our room as stated. Not too easy to find in the dark. Would return for one or two nights.

All hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Facilities were basic but clean and very adequate for families. Son spent many hrs when not at arrractions at the pool. Situated just off i-drive the hotel is perfect location for a base and free transportation to attractions was great. Thanks to all at Travelodge and alphrooms for the great price.

Review of 'TRAVELODGE UNIVERSAL'
10 July 2006
The rooms are basic, but are clean, we always had clean sheets and plenty of clean towels. Although the pool area is quite small (pool is bigger than a lot of others), there was always plenty of beds, as it mainly quiet in the days. There was a laundrette, bar and shop, which were reasonably priced. If you are planning to spend a lot of time around the hotel, I would recommend paying a bit more for another hotel, but like ourselves if you are going to the parks, then this is an ideal base. The hotel is cheap and cheerful, in a good location (about 10 mins walk to the main stretch of shops). Overall it's a good value hotel.
