Family Break

01 August 2008
This hotel was only beautiful with scenic views and a lovely cool breeze coming from the sea. The Bedrooms are gorgeous spotlessly clean and the bed was gigantic. Bathroom really big and shower was very powerful. We had full board and the food was delicious- something to suit everyone. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The amenities were fantastic with both in and outdoor pools. There was so much I didnt get to use the other facilities ie gym and sauna. For those who want deep relaxation one can avail of therapies and massages to your choice. The grounds of this hotel are spectacular with the most beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. There was a fountain and pond which the kids loved. We got fresh towels for our sunbes everyday which was great.Overall this hotel is a must for spmeone looking for the best value. You really are treated the best. So book with alpha rooms and get the best deal. I will definitely go back soon and book with alpha.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night with my girlfriend. It was booked as a treat by my family for my recent exam pass. Fantastic deal by alpharooms and well worth the money, beautiful room on the 10th floor overlooking the sea with a massive balcony. Staff really good, we arrived early (8.15am) and asked if we could leave the bags before we could check in, the room was ready we checked in there and then which gave us a full day to use the fantastic pools and beach. When I finish at university and (hopelfully get a good job) I plan to bring my girlfriend back to the Torrequebrada for a lot longer stay.

Weekend break

We stayed for 2 nights & could not fault the hotel or staff, the only niggle we had was that there was no sun loungers available around the pool - they were all reserved by towels !!

10 days half board in a junior suite. The rooms need a lick of paint and the furniture looks like something found at the road side. The hotel suffers from "bad drain smell". The front reception looks 5* but sadly that's where it ends. I would not recommend this for a family holiday. The staff made our holiday, food was good at the Cafe Royale (dress code requires long trousers and shoes) however breakfast was poor, at the weekends the staff struggled with the influx of Spanish tourists on weekend breaks. The Gym is poor and no AC. The private beach is very rocky as you go into the water and sore on the feet. The road outside the hotel is very dangerous and the traffic lights seem to weekends only. I would recommend the underpass. We had one round of drinks in the hotel at the rear late one night, two gin and tonics and two cola's 20 Euro's. On the last day of the holiday we found you could buy newspapers from the bag shop in the hotel. My review may come across as negative but there were enough positives to make us consider going again. Views from the hotel, quite at night, good security etc.

Torrequebrada

We have just stayed at the Torrequebrada for a long weekend. Friendly staff, good sized room, huge super king bed, his/her bathroom basins. Decor very 70'ish and would benefit from an update. Nice view of Benalmadena from the room with morning sun only. Traffic noise very loud - had to keep the sound proof sliding door closed at all times, especially at night. I can only assume the traffic noise must be bad in the peak summer period. Unfortunately the sound proofing did not extend to blocking out noise from the adjacent rooms and corridors! Buffet breakfast was extensive and a large variety of hot and cold food. Large selection of fresh fruit juice. Overall a pleasant hotel and location but definitely not 5 star standard. Our main gripes are having to pay 10 euros per day carparking, 15 euros per channel per day for tv in the room, and 3 euros to enter the casino. We chose the hotel due to its 5 star rating however next time we will try a 4 star nearer to the marina area.

We have been going to Benalmadena for the last 6 years, staying at Sunset Beach and Vistimar, both excellent. Booking and getting great deals through Alpha rooms. This year we went to the Torrequbrada as again we got a great deal for the only 5 star hotel in Benalmadena. And after staying there if we go back to this resort, the Torrequbrada will be the only hotel we would stay in. The hotel is on the far side of Benalmadena but there is a nice walk from the back of the hotel into main area of resort. The Marina is about a 45 min walk, but taxis are always available from the hotel at a cost of 6 to 8 euros depending where you are going. We got a lovely room with giant size bed, mini bar provided bit expensive as expected. Breakfast Buffet provided which I have to say was good not great. The staff were excellent and the hotel is very clean. An Asian Restaurant is now in the hotel which is superb and the bars and other restaurants the same. Casinio in hotel is also very popular. The main reason we would go back is for the gardens and pool area, so peacefull and secluded, sun beds and towels provided free also indoor swimming pool available. Overall excellent value for a 5 star hotel.

The staff was absolutely wonderful, helpful in every way possible. The room was comfortable with an excellent view. Our only gripe was that the breakfast did not live up to the five star rating.
Other than that, it was a great weekend break.

The hotel was all we could wish for. We were a group of 4 golfers who needed a base for 5 days while playing some of the local courses. B&B basis was ideal as part of the holiday is going out at night and trying out some of the various restaurants in the locality. The hotel was pretty quiet when we were there (mid-March) and , apart from a small conference, there seemed no more than 50 guests staying at the time. The breakfasts were very good buffet style with plenty of choice and our rooms were very smart with Sky TV etc. Although there is very little going on outside the hotel, a 15 minute walk would get you to the shops, bars etc. Alternatively, there were always taxis outside the hotel and it was only between 5-7 € to get to the action. All in all a very good place to stay and the Alpharooms price we got was superb. £26 pppn B&B at a 5 star hotel. Great deal

Review of 'TORREQUEBRADA'

09 September 2005
We enjoyed our stay at Torrequebrada but am realistic with this review.  Hotel is 25 years old and now probably more like 4 star than 5. This is not a minus point as the hotel was not at all pretentious as some 5 star can be!  Everything was fine, however we did have noise at night from rooms either side of us. It is however soundproofed against road noise. We stayed on the 11th floor and had a fantastic view from our balcony (even though it was so hot we could not sit on it! lucky us). We did not find anything about the resorts of Benalmadena, Fuengirola or the Puerto Marina to our liking. Unless you want a blow up lilo? We did not find this disappointing however as this is the Costa del Sol and unless you are south of Puerto banus it can be very tacky. We will return, we never actually needed to leave the Hotel.  We had a very relaxing break in an immaculate, happy hotel, near to the airport and free from any hassle.  What more could you ask?

Situated approx 10 mins away from the main Bendelamena beach area, this hotel is ideal for a quiet holiday, however the walk to nearby restaurants and bars did get tedious in the heat when we venture out for lunch and dinner. The location of the hotel is therefore both a positive and a negative.

More positive points were:
The very nice and helpful staff.
The pool area with enough sun loungers’for all.
The nice breakfast (if it is included in the room price – as it is not worth 17 euros).
A bus stop located very nearby which is easy to use.
The balcony off each room.
The quietness of the hotel, especially at night (we couldn’t hear any noise from other rooms)

I was disappointed by the beach attached to the hotel as it wasn’t easy to swim in (due to all of the rocks) and also by the gym area. As expected – the pool bar/restaurant was extremely expensive too.

Overall this place is nice. Next time I think I would stay in one of the 4star hotels closer to the attractions.

Very nice up market hotel at reasonable cost.  Facilities are excellent and the staff are friendly and efficient.  Rooms are very good with nice views over the beach and sea from the balcony.  Food is very good but dont forget to take smart clothes for the evening (no jeans or trainers).  There is also the casino for those that feel "Lady Luck" is on their side.  Unlike the tacky 'Vegas' casinos, a smart dress code exists which complements the sophisticated atmosphere.
Hotel location is good.  A short walk takes you to the main beach front area where you can walk all the way to the charming marina (about 50 minutes to 1 hour) passing bars and restaurants along the way.  Alternatively take a short taxi ride from the hotel.  Adjacent to the marina area can be found the night life for those that like loud bars and clubs.

This is a very nice and clean hotel. The staff are all very frindly and, for the most part, speak very good English. The food served at the hotel is also of a very high standard especially in the evening restaurants. It is far superior to the many surrounding restaurants in Benalmedena. The Chateaubriand in the Cafe Royal (hotel restaurant) was pariculary nice! We had a double superior room which was very spacious and clean, no problems there. The only one draw back for some would be that it is a half hour walk to the centre of Benamedena where all the nice shops, bars and other restaurants are. All in all a very nice and relaxing hotel - if going to Benalmedena again would definitely stay here. Oh yeah, you can even have a relaxing massage by the sea!!!

Hasta la Vista....!!

30 June 2005
My husband and I were amazed by the good value for money at this hotel.  The position was ideal, a quiet and peaceful location away from the centre of Benalmadena but with easy access by cheap local taxi to the Puerto Marina, Benalmadena Pueblo and Mijas.  The rooms were spacious, of excellent standard and exceptionally clean and well-maintained.  The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied and the dining room and terrace overlooked the sea. All staff we encountered were unfailingly courteous and helpful.  Most of all we enjoyed the spacious garden area, complete with Spanish fountains, adjacent to the pool where we could relax and plan our return....

This is a top class hotel in a prime holiday location. It is true 5 star quality and only a short taxi ride to shops and bars of Puerto Marina.

I stayed on a B&B basis and Breakfast was fantastic, a very large selection of hot and cold food.

Alpharooms got the room for me at less than 1/2 the hotels standard rate. 5 star quality at 3 star prices.
