the hotel was very nice, and it wasnt dated like some people say, the food was very nice and we had a lots of choice, i dont know what people are on about.
we were treated well by all staff, and would recommend this hotel. although they do offer this hotel and the other h top hotels to other travel agents in europe like italy slavia, holland, germany. etc so dont expect all english to be staying here, actually about 80% were foreigners staying at this hotel. and as we were coming to the end of our stay, more and more foreign students were checking in. so buyer beware. that was the only down side to the hotel, we didnt have to pay for the washing machine or the tumble dryer and the washing powder was free.
the indoor pool was about 4 foot deep so you could swim in it and great for kids, the other thing was the hotel was situated on a hill not very near to the town centre, so the walk was to far for us and we only went to the town twice.
we went when it wasnt to busy and found no quews to get drinks, the hotel security tollerate no noise at night and you will get chucked out. however the h top hotels royal beach, royal star, casino royal and alexis were being used for hen and stag parties as its a cheap getaway, and free booze all day and night, i would not recommend the casino royal, families were paying £230 to be shipped out of there and to our hotel by the bus load as the whole hotel was overrun by boozed up foreign students and hen party goers.
trust me we were being spat at from the balconies whilst trying to get in the entrance to use the facilities, we walked in and walked back out. please listen to me avoid avoid.
and alexis was the same all foreign students, vey small hotel with very little facilities, would avoid to.
the callella palace was very nice and the peneda palace was good to.
we had a fab time thanks to all the staff especially nicos at reception, francos the gay entertainment guy, and my room cleaner for room 253 floor two.
