Rubbish

Food plain and repetitive and sometimes cold rteception staff especially youn blonde girl ignorant and unhelpful Bar staff to busy chatting up the females to serve drinks hence long ques only saving grace were the cleaners who kept our rooms spotless.would certainly not book this hotel again

Great for a shortbreak
02 June 2008
Stayed at hotel for five days, would stay there again. Would say it is more a three star rating. Food was good plenty of choice, rooms were clean and spacious. Not many bars around hotel only Robin Hood across road. Only about 15 mins walk into main Lloret.

my cheap value holiday
29 May 2008
Hi, I have just got back from the Royal Beach. Been before, and will more than likely go again for a cheap all inclusive week away. By booking hotel and flights transfers all seperate I got a real bargain, and with what I paid I can not grumble at all with what I received at all. I had food available when I wanted it, drinks on tap, maybe a couple minutes queue at busy times but you get that in shops and pubs. bar closed at midnight - and if you wanted more drinks then, there were bars outside, and centre lloret not far away. open to 6am I believe!!! The food did vary, not massively, but I always had enough to satisfy. salads, breads, veggy options, diff meats, always a pasta, and pasta sauce/gravy breads. I took advantage of the free hotel bus, taking me to all the other h.top hotels in the area, and by booking that the day before, it allowed me to eat and drink in that hotel free use all the facilities there free, while also exploring the local areas and sights. Saved me spending money while out on food/drinks and transport.
The maids did a good job of our room, although you knew when they started work! who needed an alarm, but that was my knod to go and get my breakfast before the restaurant closed. The staff were helpful, and if you got to know them them, they were more friendly. weather wasn't bad! watch out for that heat rash. It's got me everytime. Pool has space around it but feels quite compact (although does the job)! Locality is good. 10 min walk to main bars clubs town bit, 2 minute walk max to local beach, with a couple bars/restaurants around. shop and late night bars directly outside hotel. crazy golf. boat trips from local beach. bus stop/taxi rank right outside. main bus stop to futher places top of street 2/3 mins walk. I reccommend this hotel for a cheap break. You get what you pay for. We enjoyed it. Thank you Royal Beach!

NICE PLACE TO STAY
28 May 2008
Just returned from a 1 week stay 20th -27th May 2008.
We booked this hotel because we had stayed there in 2001 - our children were a lot smaller then and it was ideal for our family - this time however was a different story. Don't get me wrong. This is a great hotel - if you have younger children - entertainment every night for them however it was a bit much for my girl (15). Food very good and always plentiful and hot (unlike some comments) and quite varied. Drinks (only 2 per customer at a time) were very good - spirits strong (unlike other places we have been to) daily cocktail for adults or children. Lovely pool and terrace BUT even better roof top terace with a pool (shallow) 3 jacuzzis and bar (barman very funny and friendly) nice and quiet (radio playing over speakers) for those who want to get a way from it all - great for sunbathing - you can get the sun all day! Very good location, a few bars opposite with a few shops.Close to the beach. 10 min walk (or bus stop outsde hotel) to Lloret - quite a quiet place really. Best thing about this hotel is that it is an H.TOP group (3 other hotels in LLoret)- this means that you can show your pass(photo I.D given at time of check-in at reception) at any other H.Top Hotels and get drinks and snacks there too (between 10.a.m and 7.00 p.m) great if you want a change of scenery without the extra cost - also if you book a day in advance (at reception) there is a double decker bus free of charge that will take you to a H.Top hotel of your choice (Tossa de mar, Malgrat, Pineda, Santa Sushanna, or Calella) so that you can get meals as well as drinks and snacks. We went to Calella for the day - 3 hotels there too - all very nice. Great idea!!! Rooms nice, cleaned daily but small - we had a triple room. wouldn't say it was a 4 star hotel but a very good 3 star - small shop in foyer, 4 internet bays. Snacks very good (burger, chips, hotdogs, pizza, salad etc) -you are never hungry. beer, wine and soft drinks only with meals, breakfasts quite good choice, bacon, eggs, sausage, beans, fried bread, cereal, continental meats, cheeses etc. usual fayre. Overall we had a nice time, daughter was a bit bored but only went for a week - just as well as weather was rotton (2 days of sun) staff all friendly - good crowd while we were there a few hen parties arrived but nothing rowdy. All in all very nice hotel, at a very nice price.

Another great holiday
01 May 2008
Just got back from an 8 day stay, again the staff were fantastic, having a disabled daughter they took to her again and remembered us from our previous stay, the food was excellent, rooms cleaned every day, entertainment good, we really had a brilliant time and can't wait to go back in September. For all those people that knock the Hotel when you book on a cheap holiday remember you get what you pay for so don't moan, if you took the time to get to know the staff your stay would be excellent.

disillusioned
29 April 2008
Definitely not 4 star the only good thing about this hotel was the room during the day with two parties of 50+ teenagers the noise at night was terrible. The reception area, lounge and bar area leave a lot to be desired - no comfortable seating anywhere - more tap room standard. The food was terrible, bland and overcooked - sack the chef! 10 days of sheer misery apart from excursions out - will never go again. If this is Htop 4 star hotels forget them.

Once again another fab holiday, just a short break, met some great people and had a good laugh. Room facing onto main street not good, heard everyone coming out of robin hood early in morning, but all in all great break. Going to try Royal Star next time.

like the wild west
23 April 2008
If you are looking for cheap reasonable accommodation for a stag or hen party this place is ideal if you are a couple or family its an ordeal. It was possibly the noisiest hotel that we have ever stayed in and we go abroad more than 5 times per year. There were large groups of school children having food fights in the resturant without supervision running up and down all night knocking on doors etc. I for one will not use this hotel again

never again
31 March 2008
Thank god we only stayed 3 nights, 4 star accomodation, 1 star service, hotel overrun with portugese school kids, staff ignorant and totally unhelpful. We don't expect total silence but we do want some sleep which we didn't get for 2 nights as they ran riot and when we complained we were totally ignored and the food is no more than 2 star. The rooms were clean and big. Return again you are having a laugh.

gone downhill
20 March 2008
We have stayed here twice before and had a good time, this time the hotel we found to have gone downhill. Our room was over run with ants even though we were on the 3rd floor, the food was not up to the standard of 4 star, and we were invaided with 4 bus loads of italian students, you have never heard noise like it that went on till 4 am. They went, then the same amount of 11 to 14 year olds came they were as bad. We ended up getting a flighthome 2 days early. We will not be booking this hotel again.

short break
03 March 2008
we arrived at the hotel and they could not find our booking. We had asked for a pool view and we were onthe main road. Which was very noisey. The first night we were awaked with two people coming into the room, they had been given the key at reception. We have stayed in a few H Top hotels and this was the first time we have had any problems. We will not be going back there , I was more impressed with the Roal Star.

Short break
02 March 2008
We stayed at this hotel at the end of February, and was just what we were looking for at this time of year. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, the food was fine although didnt get the segregation between brittish and other european guests in the dining area. Not a lot of entertainment apart from other guests. A good wee bar across the raod from hotel. Overall we had a nice relaxing break. Would go back again when a bit warmer.

Good Value
27 February 2008
Okay so it's not four star but it is excellent value especially at this time of year. The hotel is kept very clean and whilst the food was a tad dull the staff were pleasant. The location is excellent being just a short walk to the sandy beach with its range of exercise machines if you find that you are missing the gym. We would particularly recommend the short walk to the park (Jardins de Santa Clotilde) which is delightful and well worth the 3 euros entrance fee. The 'free' drinks, alcohol ,wine, teas and coffees as well as soft drinks are worth opting for even if you don't guzzel as much as you can like some customers. Free internet access but you might only get a good signal if you search round as the locations we were advised did not work though sitting on our second floor balcony gave an adequate signal. Go enjoy!

4 star not likely
26 February 2008
room was quite nice but not what I had asked for, the meals were not exceptable and were always cold, my husband never ate a thing as every thing was either in a sauce or thing he would not eat, I myself dont eat chips and as there was only potatoes on the buffet once we were forced to go eat else where after paying good money for all inclusive. over all I was not impressed by this hotel, as I have stayed in h top hotes fo0r a few years now this was far the worst. They dont cater enough for the scots people, and as I see in some other review I felt the same the restaurant was sectioned off for the spanish, and all the tables weere reserved for them. we were left to look for a table and had to find our own cutlery. I am a very unhappy person right now, as my few days away were spoiled by all this.

short break
16 February 2008
My husband and i booked this short break at the very last minute and had a few reservations about going to this hotel, well that was until we read the reviews!
We found this hotel to be very clean and only a 10-15 minute walk away from the main resort. There is a lovely little cove about 5 mins away, (if you turn right when you come out of the main entrance to the hotel follow the road all the way round and you will find it there). The rooms were very clean and the service was good, although a little bit more of a variety on the buffet would have been nice but what was on offer was very nice.
We hope to return again for another short break and would return back to this hotel as it ticked all the boxes for us.
The entertainment wasnt up to very much although they did have a disco at night, (that was a good laugh, when u go you will understand what we mean, lol).
Well done to the Royal Beach for a nice service.

Anniversary Short Break
12 February 2008
My wife and I have just returned from staying at The Royal Beach, we went for a short break for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
This was our first time Lloret De mar and staying at an H Top Hotel. The hotel and room was very clean except for a small amount of ants coming from a crack in the bathroom. Food was variable but could have been a bit hotter but the restaurant was split into two half’s with the English on one side and the rest on the other side which they had reserved tables for them. Staff was very friendly.
Entertainment we could not comment on this as went out of season and they was only a disco at night but however there was one night it did not cater for the English speaking people as the compare translated in other languages except for English. The entrainment he was comparing for was some sort of fancy dress we presumed, as we couldn’t understand what was going on.
If was a choice between two of the H Top Hotels we was going to book, the other was the H Top Royal Star. After reading reports and the location to Lloret De Mar centre we decided to stay at the Royal Beach however after a visit to the Royal Star during our stay we both agreed we should have booked the Royal Star. Reason for this was the location of the hotel to the centre. From the local beach there was a sign saying it would take you 35 mins to the reach the centre. We had hired a car from the airport so we droved to the centre, which took us about 5 mins. The Royal Star is just of a main road but it would take you about 10 mins to walk to the centre, no need for you to drive.
Would we booked this hotel again, answer would be yes but in season as there was not much open however there was a English open bar just outside the hotel main entrance with another bar and a Qwik Save shop next door to it. There were also gifts shops only couple of mins away from the hotel. The beach was less than a 5 min walk away.
Over all it was to get away for a short break, with a nice hotel and excellent weather.
Thanks Royal Beach.

excellent hotel
03 February 2008
We have been to this hotel now for the last 4 years and on average 4 to 5 times a year, the staff are excellent and we have made friends with all of them during our stays, food excellent, entertainment very good, the hotel can be a bit noisy at night sometimes but this does not affect your enjoyment of staying there. Look forward to our next stay and seeing the staff again.

i have stayed at this hotel now three times and had a really good time. fair enough the hotel is noisy full of people having a good time but is that not what we are all there for. only problem i can say is at night early hours of the morning when people come in they bang the doors. food ok there is always something for everybody. staff really friendly and at the time of year we went the queues for the drinks were ok. will definitely go again it was a good laugh and we all enjoyed it.

Great ...I love it!!!
07 December 2007
I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and have not found any problems. I have read recent reviews where people have said that this hotel is for low life scum who cant afford a decent holiday. In my eyes this is not the case. I returned from my holiday on 3rd dec, all i wanted was a quick break to destress myself. And thats what i got. I will say that the hotel in some areas is not up to a 4* standard but what can you expect for the price. I have also stayed in the Gran Casino Royal (which many people reccomend) but i would not go there again. I would choose Royal Beach any time over that pace. I love it ...Going again on the 22nd for xmas.

05 December 2007
returned yesterday (4th Dec), after a 3 day stay, hotel lovely and clean and the food was really good, and i am quite fussy. The all inclusive package is excellent and a good selection of drinks were available. I felt their wasnt much to do outwith the hotel but lloret de mar is only a short walk away with loads to do. The staff in the hotel were friendly. I would recommend this hotel to other people.

Drinkers Paradise
30 November 2007
What can I say about this hotel?
First the good things. Housekeeping staff very polite and friendly, could not do enough for you and they kept the rooms spotless. Beds and towels regularly changed. That's it for the positive things.
Now sit back and make yourselves comfortable for the negative aspects.
(1) The cheap all inclusive attracts those who wish to drink all day and night. They then cause mayhem and disruption through the whole hotel. The noise at night is unbearable and security does little about it.
(2) The food is indescribable it is so bad to be almost inedable and presentation of food is non exsistant. We were half board but after the first day we ate all our meals out.
(3) The rooms have very thin walls and you are kept awake by drink induced behaviour which consisted of a lot of abusive language in the next room. In this hotel the noise and bad behaviour is 24/7 and it is not just young people it is also so called mature adults.
We are not kiljoys we believe in everybody having a good time but showing respect for others. Only go to this hotel if you want a drunken binge if you want a holiday go somewhere else. This was possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and it had the most beligerant staff (except for the cleaners).
If you take notice of reviews before booking a hotel then read this one twice.

royal beech
10 November 2007
we stayed at the royal beech from the 5th to the 9th of november.
Food goog, hotel clean, staff friendly, beech near by. We have previously stayed at this hotel and never had any problems. However on this occaision we had a different experience in that the reception and entertainment room was constantly cold people where wearing coat, big cardigans, and jumpers. People complaining to the management made no difference. The comfortable sofas have been replaced with tables and chairs from the entertainment room so there was no where to have a relax other than sitting on the bed. Inoticed an elderly couple in their 80s cutting their holiday short because of the uncomfortable environment. I now have resoirvations about booking this hotel again unless the sofas are replaced and the temprature in the public areas is improved

I stayed in the royal beach 11th july to the 18th, Hotel it's self to look at is lovely. It's a nice place within walking distance to the beach and some shops. The cleaners work really hard our room was cleaned everyday and well done. The pool is lovely. All the bar staff was nice. Though the food was bad, i came Monday night late so we eat over the road was is great by the way if you go try it out. I was ill tuesday night and wed, i had bad stomach cramps. We spoke to lots of people and never everyone we spoke to was ill, one lady said on the thurdat that her and her husband come monday and her husband had not got out of bed yet. i saw a dr on the thusday im guessing that was for the bloke. i over heard someone saying to the bloke on front desk they was ill and he said it's something in the air then a waiter walked past and said no it's not its the food. Also the young blonde girl on front desk was yet totally rude, and did not want to help anybody. Apart from that the holiday was great. Hopeful this was a one off.

we have recently returned from a 5 day holiday here and just enjoyed the break really. The hotel was clean and staff very pleasent. It is nicely situated with good bars only across the road and a lovely beach only 5 mins walk away. We just didnot like the long queues for the bar and felt like in a works canteen when going for the meals. we used to look at the q. then go to one of the lovely restaurants close by. so although we would return to this hotel we would not go all inc.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
14 June 2007
In truth food and hotel facilities don't deserve the four star rating but we had fantastic value for what we paid. We stayed all inclusive and, unlike some other hotels, the drinks were decent quality and readily available.
The pool area was very congested but this didn't worry us as it was such a short walk to an excellent beach.
Getting around was very easy, with a bus stop immediately outside the door. The fare to Lloret de Mar is only 1 euro each way. Our favourite way of spending the day was to take the water taxi from Fenals Beach to the neighbouring resorts. Tossa is a must visit.
Big complaint was the transfer from the airport. Alpharooms should be honest and state that this is on a full size coach with about a dozen drop off points. It took us 2 hours 20 minutes to reach our hotel! On the return the coach was almost an hour late arriving. Had we known we would definitely paid the extra for a taxi.

Me and my three friends had a four-day break, All Inclusive, and had a fantastic time. I am aso now looking for another bargain holiday for us. We met some great people - everyone was friendly. The hotel is clean and staff are really friendly. There is a fab bar opposite (Robin Hood) where you can go when All Inclusive is finished in hotel. We had a right laugh. Unbiased review
24 May 2007
Iv'e just returned from 3 nights all inclusive for my stag party with 13 of my friends. We had an exellent time, we are an older group between 40-45 yrs old and we didn't go diving in the pool wetting everyone else or banging on peoples doors at night and shouting from the balcony at 4am in the morning, but iv'e stayed here before with my partner and parents, and other stag parties and large groups of couples are not so thoughful. Only last week a stag party broke one of the plate glass balcony sides and got thrown out. It can be very noisy and I would not stay here again with my nearly wife. The 4th floor seems to be where they put all group parties and it can be hell trying to sleep if you end up on the 4th. I CANNOT stress enough, if you want a quiet few days with a good nights sleep GO somewhere else. We enjoyed the food and the drink which you can also get in the dining room with your meal (free if your AI) unlike someone reported here in an earlier review, and the plastic glasses are a must if you drink outside in the pool area. The hotel is clean and staff are ok. The swimming pool is great and there is a roof terrace with 3 jacuzzies a bar and a sunbathing area. Cheap, cheerfull & fun it is but don't expect a classy hotel.

Review
13 May 2007
Just stayed five nights at the hotel. Must admit when we first arrived, it was very noisy and crowded with lots of stag and hen partys. But once we settled in, it was fine. We found everyone in the place friendly and 'going for it'.
Our room we were allocated at first was right over the street opposite bars, taxi rand, bus stop etc, so we asked for a move to the (sunny) pool side where it was much quieter (at night). The move was made without fuss by the hotel, so they must be used to it. I would recommend anyone to do the same.
The hotel is rated four star but in my opinion should really be three star. We found the place clean and the food okay without being anything special. The staff were generally helpful and polite, although there were exceptions.
For what we paid, the hotel was excellent value.

This is my 4th short break at the Royal Beach. The location is brilliant and the staff all very friendly and helpful. This time there were lots of stag and hen parties so it got a bit crowded and noisy, but it was all good friendly banter without any problems. I usually do the free trips to their sister hotels in other resorts but was disappointed to discover that although they could still book us in for food and drink, the free transfer we usually get were not available because we were out of season so we only got to visit The Royal Star in Lloret. Overall, a welcome short break to recharge my batteries.

An excellent hotel with great facilities and wonderful selection of buffet food which would put other supposedly superior hotels to shame. Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay with the only criticism being the rowdy behaviour on our last night of a group of some 50 young guys on a stag do. The staff were also clearly annoyed with the antics. Would make a suggestion that group sizes should be limited.

we stayed in royal beach in may 2006 and we are going back in august 2007.I had read some negetive reviews but when we got there i thought it was quite good, the only thing i found was that it can be a bit noisy at night as people stand outside the hotels reception talking and laughing, but apart from that the rooms were small but spotless and the food was beautiful, the entertainment was excellent too my wee boy enjoyed himself and so did I. can't wait to go back.

Having read some other reviews was rather puzzled as they ranged from 1 to 5 and I have to admit I would tend to agree with the higher ratings as the service was good, the food choice was very good and the only moan I really had was the amount of times the Electronic Keys malfunctioned but overall I would definitely recommend the Royal Beach.

For your information, as an experienced traveller I can assure you that the 'Top Royal Beach' is by no stretch of the imagination a 4 Star hotel: 1. The carpets in the hallways are filthy and full of cigarette burns. 2. The tables in the dining room are tiny; no drinks were available with meals - they had to be purchased at the bar. 3. There was inadequate space around the buffet area in the dining room so that it was extremely difficult to get a meal and return to one's table, due to the fact that so many people were packed into a small space. 4. There was no separate bar area for smokers - they were forced to smoke out in the lobby near the entrance, meaning that it was permanently noisy and stank of smoke. 5. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. 6. TV was only available for a 20 Euro deposit. 7. Many guests were on an 'all-inclusive' package, and treated the place like a gin palace; getting drunk after breakfast until the early hours. 8. There was no lounge area or indoor facilities for families or children.

Fab! Fab! Fab!. I am in my late 30's with a 1 year old baby. We went with my Mum for a 4 day break and stayed at the Royal Beach Hotel just minutes from Fenals beach and about 10 minutes walk from Lloret town centre. We were all inclusive and what a bargain. Twin room with ensuite, tv, balcony, cot for baby was spotless. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food, entertainment and facilities could not be faulted. We usually go on family holidays every year, sometimes twice a year and this is one, if not the best Hotel we have stayed at. Local buses and taxis are just outside Hotel to take you into other resorts and cost pennies. I would definately go again, in fact I'm shopping for cheap flights just now to go back to the same Hotel for later on this year. My Mum hasn't been abroad in over fourteen years and she loved it. There is something for everyone, even a kids club. The Royal Beach Hotel is clean, tidy and very well organised and has a lovely pool area. The only downfall was me, I ate too much. So many choices of food, I had to try a bit of everything. I read a previous review which mentioned lager louts, yes there was a heated moment between a couple of men but the staff security dealt with it right away without any upset to anyone. No matter where you are, disagreements can break out but this should not reflect on the Hotel. Can't wait to go back.

We have stayed at the Royal beach now for the second time. I did not send a review in the first time as I could have been lucky as all was brill and we could not find fault with anything and would not liked to recommend a hotel to others just in case it was a one off. It was not a one off we had brilliant service it was spotlessley clean food was good entertainment was good what more could you want.
