Toboso is in an ideal location for beach,bars,shops. Pleasant rooms, clean and well-maintained. Air-con and/or heating worked well. Pool area kept clean even in February. Nerja was fairly quiet at this time but still enough for a spot of people-watching,souvenir shopping but don't plan on being out too late - restaurants closing by 10pm. Would recommend Toboso for those who don't like walking up hills to get home - right in teh middle of everything without being noisy.

The room was fine however, myself and my family felt uncomfartable at the pool area because of the constant 'telling off' from the hotel staff. It was not just our family however, the majority of English families were told off also, as Spanish guests had complained about the noise and children generally having fun. This wasn't as you may think, at 2am in the morning due to drunkness and riotess behaviour but at any time during the day when people were playing in the pool. The rules ended up being - No ball games in the pool, no lilo's in the pool, keep quiet around the pool, no jumping into the pool and get this - no splashing water outside the pool because it is dangerous and runs off into the restaurant below - A design fault I would say rather than the fault of pool users!! Needless to say, it became a little starined and uncomfortable at times. Also we were charged for using the indoor facilities and this was not mentioned in the original spec. so be careful on that one. Other than that everything else was fine!!

We stayed at the Toboso for 3nights in August.   The apartments are in an excellent location in the centre of nerja, which is a lovely town.  They are clean, modern and well furnished.  The only downside was the bed settee which creaked and groaned everytime you turned over (far better to put the mattress of the floor).  We were advised to go to a different address for the key, but after checking with the apartment told to go straight there - 24hr reception - so don't know why that information was given.  Hotel has lovely terrace for drinks, bar meals and live music on Sat night and is only 2 mins from the beach.  Would definately recommend and would return.

Loved this hotel for many reasons.
Location was fantastic, right on the beach (a 75 foot walk down to it)
Great Personnel.  They helped me even before I got there by answering many questions, ie. parking, buses, golf amenities, sending information maps.  Very very friendly

The room was average while aveage had a small balcony with a table and what a view.  It also had a kitchenette, which we did not get to use as we were only there one night.  

On our return to Spain we will surely stay there again.

Accomodation nice & clean. plenty of space & quiet. Staff- one lady was v nice & helpful. The others were unfriendly- needed to ring bell to get in & out of hotel. They would open the door without even looking or saying anything. They advertise as having indoor pool sauna & gym. However , it is very small & costs €10 per person per use ( including asking for €10 for 1 year old baby!!). There in April- outdoor pool is free but very cold (& I.m used to swimming in sea regularly in Ireland!!). Got laundry done- advertise one day service but took 4 days to come back- totally dismissed my complaint (1 year old child had no clothes left etc.) & told me that that's how long it takes. My husband spoke to them in native Spanish & got totally different response- apology, they would look into it etc. Good location - very central etc. Nerja not my scene really. Food mediocre, staff relatively unhelpful everywhere with few exceptions(e.g. wouldn't measure child's feet in shoe shop, no apology for dirty glass & cutlery in restaurants etc.). beaches average, shops average. Certainly not rushing back!!!! They have cornered tourist market with good weather & have a captive audience. If all you want is weather give it a go! Better than alot of other places along the coast in appearance.

I'd recommend these apartments highly. Good rooms well done.  We had a room overlooking the pool & the sea.  

The position of the apartments is great - midpoint of old & new Nerja, right outside the church and a beach was just below us.  No parking, but the free carpark is only a 5 minute walk away - load up from the underground municipal car park & move the car later.  

Staff are friendly & were great with our 6 year old. The facilities are great - 2 pools, sauna & gym (we stayed in April & the outdoor pool's freezing but the indoor one was free whenever we wanted it - we had it to ourselves).  The Irish bar with Sky downstairs meant we could keep up with the footie.  We read moans about the regularity of the cleaning on the net before we went & that's true - cleaning on 3rd day - but when we asked, the room was cleaned - the staff were really accommodating.  

Nerja is a brilliant resort & we'd definitely stay at Toboso again.

An unbelievably perfect choice. A small modern Apartment/Hotel which was extremely clean and ideally located. Arriving by car in the late evening the Hotel was well signposted from the main road into Nerja and therefore easy to find. The receptionist was quick to direct me to a near by FREE car park with the aid of a map and excellent English. I had a superb apartment on the ground floor with lots of space, a compact kitchen, Sat TV and ample seating,which overlooked a real sun trap of a swimmimng pool and lounging area.
The following morning was however the real surprise the Toboso  is right in the middle of town yet 2 minutes from the beach and surrounded by superb restaraunts and Tapas Bars the perfect location. And, if you want for more the famous Balcon de Europa is literally round the corner for stunning views day and night.
One other point which added to the enjoyment of my holiday was that at the last minute (the day I was due to travel) I had to postpone for three weeks. The people at Alpharooms couldn't have been more helpful in contacting the hotel rebooking and phoning me back to confirm the booking and saving me any extra charges.

Our first stay in Nerja and we were very impressed with both the apartment and its location to all amenities.  We had a loft apartment with a huge terrace with sunbeds. Staff very helpful and apartment was well maintained. Extremely pleased with our choice.

We have just returned from Nerja and the Toboso Apar-Turis, a four day unwind session for two grandparents recovering from an active beach holiday at Benalmadena with a horde of young grandchildren.

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed at in in Spain, or anywhere. That goes for both Nerja and for the Toboso Apartments.  

The apartments are modern, big, airy and spotless. The beds were comfortable and the value for money extremely good. As time share owners, we rate it 'Gold Standard' for size, furnishings & equipment and the very high standards of service and cleanliness.  An electric kettle was produced with a smile as soon as I asked for one, not being coffee drinkers. The microwave/grill and hotplates were adequate for our needs, the fridge plenty big enough.

The hotel pool is small but it was never overfull, nor were the sunbeds all occupied, even in the July heatwave. I swam a few lengths on our last morning, wishing time could stand still, because the sun shone, birds twittered above me and the world seemed oh so peaceful. From our balcony the flowering shrubs and a beautifully tiled wall beside the pool framed a perfect view of the turquoise sea and the cove below us. The beaches are small and not commercialised and the sand unbearably hot, so the outdoor pool was great. No shallow end for the little ones though, so armbands essential.(Granny speak.)

The Toboso restaurant opening times did not fit our eating plans, being closed til 7pm weekdays. However, the main square, the famous Balcon de Europe, is right outside the door and it has lots of eateries.The side streets offer even more choice and at lower prices, within easy walking distance. For example, our last main meal consisted of freshly caught, crisply fried sardines served with simple salads, warm bread rolls and a bottle of local, fruity, white wine. It was eaten inside a cool cafe bar, sitting at a neatly laid table with a crisp tablecloth and real napkins.  All for 28 euros for two!

In the evenings, especially Saturday and Sunday, on the Balcon the local Spanish people mingled with tourists, to promenade around the various entertainments, from the busking clowns, jugglers and musicians to skilled artists at work and a mime artist par excellence.  Who needed the TV?   Not us.  A seat circling one of the many trees, or at a bar table on the pavement.

Great place. Very friendly staff, smack bang in the middle of town and with wonderful views of the sea. I had an apartment with a kitchen and living room and after a day or two it started to feel like home. Highly recommended.
