Your hosts Bev and Robin Jenkins welcome you to "Tighnafeile House." Tighnafeile House was built in 1911 - 1912 for Mr. and Mrs. John Matheson and their six children. The house was designed by Timaru architect Walter Panton and was built by John Pringle. The Mathesons named the house 'Tighnafeile' (pronounced Tyne-a-faylee) which is Gaelic for "House of Welcome" Tighnafeile is 5005sq ft ( 465 msq ) and is built on a land area of 2360 msq.The House was purchased in 1997 by Bev & Robin Jenkins, a retired building contractor. Restoration of the house was a lengthy process that took 16 months. Four Ensuites were added in addition to the existing bathroom. The house was re-wired and re-plumbed, and the grounds have been extensively landscaped. Our wish is to make your stay at "Tighnafeile House" relaxing and friendly, so you leave more refreshed than when you arrived.
