Fantastic and very welcoming

03 May 2012
This hotel was clean and fantastic to stay in when visiting Disneyland Paris. We were a family with a child under 4, who loved the pool and the pirate ship. I found the staff very welcoming and the receptionest even remembered we were English. All the staff spoke very good english and were very helpful. The shuttle bus was an excellant idea and was used by many. The Explorers was the first hotel to drop off and the first to pick up, but the bus does get very cramped. The left luggage lockers was a brillant idea and the key locking system was easy to follow. The only down side to this hotel was that the indoor play area was very tierd and worn, it could do with a makeover. Also in the room only 1 tea bag is provided and no milk. But i go around that by buying a pot of tea with milk for 3 euros and making the milk last for 3 cups of teas. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family travelling to Disneyland paris and would definatly return to this hotel.

Enjoyable stay

30 April 2012
Just back from 3 nights in the Thomas Cook Explorers, I had a very pleasant experience with the hotel. It is first to pick up on the shuttle bus for the park so you always get a seat and also first to drop off so you are never cramped for long (something to do with the way the rouns abouts are). The swimming pol and play area opened from 8 am - 11 pm and the kids loved it!! The breakfast was busy, if you go at 10 it is not as busy however there isnt as good a selection as they tend to be tidying up at this stage. The pizza place and bar open until 11, they close bang on 11 you wont get a glass of water after this time. We ate in the Captains Library twice, the first time we went in about 7 and it was a very pleasant meal, the second time we went in it was 9.30 and they stop letting people in at 10, the food was thrown at us and it was a horrible. The rooms and nice and cosy, the tea and coffee facilities is a kettle and some cups, bring milk and the packets of sugar from breakfast and teabags from home with you if you are a big tea drinker!! All in all if I was going back again I would stay here.
The best thing about my stay was…
The swimming pool in the hotel

A lovely friendly hotel!

27 April 2012
We were a bit dubious about the hotel before we left as we'd read some awful reviews on here - thank goodness it lived up to and beyond our expectations! The staff were lovely, warm and friendly with a sense of humour and couldn't do enough for us. The room was clean and and in good repair, if a little warm at times but the windows open out fully so that problem was solved. Breakfast was lovely and there was always more than enough of everything - no elbow power needed! Even my now almost teenage daughter let go a bit in the kids play area and had fun! All in all a great trip to a great value hotel, would definitely recommend and visit there again!
The best thing about my stay was…
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Would not recommend this Hotel for your Disney stay!!!!!!!

20 April 2012
The hotel was grubby and seriously in great need for attention. The corridor floors were dirty. Rooms were basic however, our room smelled of urine. In the food areas we sat watching 3 mice running around and when I said it to the barman he laughed. Disgusting!!! We went swimming which was great for the kids as had 2 slides but again, it was dirty and the pool was full of loose hairs. Changing areas were dirty also. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The best thing about my stay was…
The checking out

The hotel was excellent we used the swimming pool after a day at the disney village which was a added bonus for the children. Would recommend taking pool towels otherwise you have to pay 2 euros per towel which in our case would have cost 30 euros for our stay. Plenty of choice at breakfast although restaurant was always busy. Drinks very expensive in the evening. Took out the option of meal vouchers for half board which was a absolute god send as food in the village was very expensive. Staff were very helpful.
The best thing about my stay was…
The best thing about the hotel is without doubt the fantastic pool and water slides

In need of some attention

01 April 2012
Looked a bright and fun hotel for those with younger children but there were a few things we were very unhappy with; The room felt a bit grubby around the edges and we were horrified to find human excrement on the walls of the toilet in our room; the bathroom floor had loose tiles and there wasn't an anti-slip mat in the bath-my daughter slipped and ended up with the worst bruise on her arm that I have ever seen on a small child..this was on day one of the holiday and the bruise is now in nearly every picture that she has from Disney :( We moved to the Dream Castle, (pre-booked), the next night which I would say is a better resort hotel and more comfortable. Nice staff at the Explorers but over all it felt a bit like a Butlins and combined with the stampede to get on the shuttle bus in the morning, we won't be going back.
The best thing about my stay was…
The staff were happy and helpful on arrival.

Would stay again, but odd rough edges

28 March 2012
We stayed for a one night stop-over after a day at Disneyland and overall impressions are good. If we come again we'd certainly consider staying here again. Our room was clean and comfortable and the travel cot was waiting for us as requested. The pool was good with a nice area for our toddler. But there were just odd details which detracted - why in a family room was there just one teabag and only a single sachet of milk powder? The hotel was busy, even on a Monday night in March, but even so staff could have been a bit less abrupt. And the little slide in the pool is only open for a short time each day. So, the important stuff is good, we'd stay again and recommend to others, but just a few small improvements could make it even better.
The best thing about my stay was…
Nice pool for children.

Fantastic for the children (and adults)

27 March 2012
This was perfect for our stay. It was clean, close to Disney with loads to do after we had spent day at park. Kids loved it. Will definately be going back. The pool and play area were excellent. Very clean and well equipped.

Pool and play area.

Excellent hotel when travelling with Children

26 March 2012
The room
The room Dinner in the plantation restaurant Down the slide!
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were impressed - the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were in a room just round the corner from the Disney store, which was very convenient. The room was nice and big for our group (2 adults and a 2-year old boy, in a room with a double and 2 singles). There were drawers, hanging space and shelves, as well as room for our luggage and a safe was provided, which worked well for storing passports during the day - not that we felt insecure; I even left a laptop out which was still there when I got back. The room had a bathroom with sink, bath and overhead shower (which was nice and powerful) and a separate toilet. There was no air conditioning, but there was a heater and a fan, and the temperature was never too hot or cold. The LCD TV (~32") has English CBeebies, so that was useful for getting up in the morning - we didn't investigate the other channels. The room was nice, but the best thing about this hotel is the entertainment. The pool is fantastic fun - there are 2 water slides and a pirate ship. The pirate ship was only open during the evening (from 6pm), and provided a water play area and a third water slide. The other slides include a simple one that was suitable for our son (despite signs indicating children over 6 only - it was fine as long as you catch them at the bottom), and a larger slide, which my wife enjoyed thoroughly! There was no life guard as is indicated, but the pool is not very deep. Note that you couldn't use the pool for doing lengths either! Other than the pool, there is also an indoor soft play centre, cleverly situated near the bar! So you can let your little ones have a great time while you enjoy the cocktails - they also had a happy hour while we were there so you could get 2 for 1 (otherwise about 8 euros each - not cheap but it is a hotel, so as expected)! We did use both the plantation restaurant and Marco's pizza; the restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet in the evening which was fine, and even satisfied our vegetarian diet (although I would expect a Vegan to struggle - this would be true in most of France though). Marco's provided a nice cheap alternative which was good for an evening after being in the parks. Breakfast was a simple continental croissants and pain au chocolat. They also provided pancakes at one point, but these were gone in seconds! This hotel also supported having your items delivered from shops bought in the parks back to the hotel. We took advantage of this on our last day in the parks, and I picked up the items shortly after the shop in the hotel opened at 8am. Note that you have to get your items bought by 3pm the day before to take advantage of this, and they will be delivered the next morning not in the evening, as this is not an actual Disney hotel, only an affiliated hotel. The shop in the hotel itself is also really good and has a good range of items. The staff there were also great and gave our son a load of colouring sheets for free! The hotel provides a free bus to the parks throughout the day, and it works very well. The bus can get quite full, but we go on at both ends with no problems; you may find that you have to stand but it is only about 5 minutes away. My only (minor) negative comment would be that the wifi was a bit weak in some places, but it did work almost everywhere. Note that you need to get a code from reception for this for each device you use.
The best thing about my stay was…
Swimming Pool, Bar and Play area, and of course the Disney parks!

Disneyland paris explorers hotel and eating out

25 March 2012
1st time not staying in the offical themed disney hotel, we opted for this went in a group of 4 families with children aged from 2 to 9. The hotel was great a large seated area which looked onto a huge soft play area with only one exit so the children were safe as you could see the exit, whilst we enjoyed a lovely cocktail (or 2) the pool was open till late and it was amazing for the kids as had 3 slides and the pirate ship that was full of fun. ROOMS - The rooms were nice and clean, only down side was the tea and coffee weren't filled up each day but room services rectified this. Had good tv kids channels as well as BBC so we watched benedorm, apprentice, and john bishops journey. BREAKFAST - basic but nice, with english cereals for kids coco pops, frosties etc, usual crossants, bread ham and cheese you would expect, also you could purchase an english fry up for 4 euros which was worth it, they never minded if you filled your bottles with fruit juice or water or if you took food away on a plate, BUS TO PARK - 10 mins if that, buses at peak time got busy but was such a short journey it never mattered and the buses were every 20 mins so never a huge wait. I can not think of anything to put this resort down. EATTING obviously mickeys cafe to meet the characters but book as you will get turned away and go for 6.15 sitting when it opens as the characters are on form then, food isn't great so just order chips and a jug of tap water as they won't chuck you out, best place to eat PLANET HOLLYWOOD as the food is good and fresh we were a family of four and it cost us 50euros with drinks. SHOPPING there is a lidls and other food supermarkets just 10 mins away if you need to stock up, the park doesn't mind you taking in a packed lunch. PRAM you can hire them at the park for 8euros and they are great, as if someone else takes it you just get a replacement - hope you have a great time. Got a question ask it and i will answer honestly about anything from parades to eating out :-)
The best thing about my stay was…
Being far enough away from the commercial side on the disney area, but close enough to get there.

Brilliant hotel - one for the kids!

24 March 2012
We stayed from 19th to 23rd march and it was fantastic. Lots to do for the kids when your not at the park! Our little ones are 3&2 and weren't so keen on the pirate ship in the pool but loved the little toddler slide. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bus link to the station/ park is great - busy at times but very regular and easy to use. We went half board as we had heard everywhere to eat was very expensive but lookong at menu's inside and outside the hotel they weren't too over priced - just theme park prices. Would def stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!!!
The best thing about my stay was…

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, i have to say we enjoyed. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and best thing its swimming pool with slides my little one and my partner wouldn't get out they were loving it,its great to relax after all day of walking in Disneyland.breakfast wasn't the best but plenty choice of cereals ,fruits. my partner was looking for an english breakfast its 4 euro extra but didn't had sausages :( i would add shop in to hotel like with water sandwiches and essentials because prices in actual park are way to high.
The best thing about my stay was…

Friendly staff, internet not very good.

16 February 2012
Internet was not always working, this was very frustating at times. Room was not properly topped up ( toilet paper, beverages, ) Sink in the bathroom was blocked, therefore the water took a long time to go down. Overall the children enjoyed the play area and swimming pool. The breakfast menu could have been more varied. I would go to this hotel again for the children's sake, as many hotels in the Disney area do not have family rooms.
The best thing about my stay was…
Slept like a babe, the bed was very comfortable.

The Hotel that welcomes Mice

21 January 2012
After getting a great deal on the hotel I was delighted with the place so much so i was prepared to turn a blind eye to the hair I found in my dinner in the posh restaurant passing it off as a minor detail however as we sat having an after dinner drink i saw a mouse run past the door of the childrens play area and into the breakfast area of the plantation restaurant i have a great fear of mice and i jumped up onto my chair the barman just smiled at me and when i told him there was a mice he continued to do what he was dong and reassured me 'it was only a little moue and that it wouldnt hurt me' i was appalled and I took my complaint to reception and was very nice in telling them but once again they looked at me as if i was getting excited over nothing and i was made to feel silly over quote 'Awwh you just saw a little mouse'!! Also the pool was closed for the duration of our stay and I think a little email in advance to let us know this was the case would of been courtesy!

A bit disappointing.

22 October 2011
The attention to detail is lacking in hotel from service at the bar, to handryers in toilets in public areas not working in 2 sets of toilets. Little things like having to request tea and coffee in rooms after 1st night( they only give you this on arrival) after a long day at parks and as we were staying for 5 nights you think this was the least they could do! The pool area is on the face of it fantastic but does get very busy in evening, and no lifeguard on duty and kids heading down the flumes of there own accord I am surprised no one has been hurt. If you have very small children letting them loose in soft play area is like heading into a war zone as one if my children said! Balls being thrown everywhere and children getting hurt! I'm not sure why the hotel haven't just thought about removing the balls! All hotels in this area are expensive I know, but next time I would think about going slightly further out where it may be cheaper and not held to ransome so much by overpriced awful food in the Disney parks and hotels!
The best thing about my stay was…
The pool and breakfast buffet
