super soomer holliday 2011
23 November 2011
Upon arrival we were booked to faro airport shuttle which took us to the place in 40 minutes and cost 40 euros. We flew in late at night with the children, and directions to the hotel when he had to be closed but after having the phone to the reception we agreed that it would leave us the key to peace and how to reach it at an agreed place. We took keys, no problem we got into the room which was a big apartment with three balcones and equipped kitchen was clean and FRESH.view who we saw in the morning from the balcony was a beautiful .Was sunny but was'nt warm in the rooms. We slept super because sprinklers were turned on so it was green and cool at all do not need air conditioning. Had 200m beach and the view when we entered it was a beautiful . beach is clean and has a tunnel in the rock where you can go on the other side to the other beaches as beach same lovely. You can rent boat but you can proceed to explore the caves with the captain for 15 euros adult (45 min) .In hotel you can booking trips to lots attractions like a dolphinarium(zoomarine) and aqaparks buses leave from near the hotel . The hotel has a swimming pool and paddling pool for children that are in a few steps from the hotel very nice hotel.Staf was helpful everything without a problem. Apartment for 8 days was cleaned 3 times and also towels. There is a bar area and coffee bar not expensive and delicious. If anyone wants a trip to the nearby town of fairs I recommend driving a taxi for 5 euros one way taxi is not payable for a person and there is also something to watch. I recommend everyone the hotel and webside from i booked because there was no problems and spent a great holiday.
The best thing about my stay was…
super and relacsing time

The hotel was clean spacious and close enough to the beaches and local services. The area was quiet but had enough quality restaurants to give us a sense of luxury. We were on a budget and made good use of the self catering facilities with lots of room on the balconies for breakfast and supper. The staff were friendly and professional .... there has been much said about a grumpy man in reception the continental equivalent of the English guest house landlady.
All in all a great bargain holiday and a beach to die for and the kids liked the pool
The best thing about my stay was…
The beach we found by accident and the cliff top walks with the boy

Lovely area, great location one or 2 of the staff could be better.
15 September 2011
We arrived at the apartments at 1.30am after a delayed flight very weary and our 3 1/2 yr old was quite grumpy. When we got there there was a note on the door to say the key was under the pot! I lifted the pot and there was one envelope with someone else's names on it. Fortunately there appeared a guy at reception so I went to ask him. I explained we were booked in but there only seemed to be this one envelope with someone else's names on - he assured me that we were the only and last ones to book in that time scale so we should just take those keys. I confirmed with him twice if this was ok and he assured me so. So we took those keys and wearily found our way to the apartment, didn't bother unpacking and went to bed. We were awoken the next morning by someone trying to get into the apartment - the people whose keys they were had arrived after us that night and ended up sleeping in the car because we had taken their keys. Following ensued an arguement at reception between me, the other people whose apartment it was and another guy behind reception. I was accused of just taking the keys without checking and was made to feel really bad. Even after me explaining what had happened no-one seemed to believe me and the the whole of the 10 days whenever I saw these other people they scowled at us and generally made us feel unwelcome.
That aside the apartment we finally got was huge and very roomy with a great sea view. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool was excellent and the beach nearby was about 5 minutes walk, very picturesque and there is a tunnel through the rock to another beach which was quite quirky!
On the beach you can hire sit on top Kayaks and pedal boats, the kayaks are a particularly great way to explore the coastline and all the caves - some of which are breathtaking. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away, and all before that on the same walk, an Italian restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a small local bar which serves really good food we nicknames the "cheap and cheerful!" which is just before the Thai restaurant on the left, an english bar which does all day breakfast, a local seafood restaurant which appears to be stuck in the 1970's but is a really interesting place to eat. There are 2 waterparks nearby, Slide & Splash and Aqualand - both within 30 minutes drive from the apartments - we visited both and Slide and Splash does cater for a wider age group (we had a 3 1/2 yr old and a 16 yr old and both loved it) but it's busier whereas Aqualand is much quieter and you get on the rides quicker but isn't as good for the little ones.
Great sunsets in the evening, our apartment had fans in the bedrooms and living room which were very welcome - but there's no kettle so making a cup of tea in the morning is a bit of a mission!!
The best thing about my stay was…

13 August 2011
We arrived after midnight and our key was left out for us. We could see the sea from the balcony as requested. The apartment was clean and fresh and the linen was changed every second day. The pool had a nice grassy area with palm trees (but very few loungers), the pool area had a childproof fence around it. The clientelle was mainly middle income family groups.
The beach was about 7 minutes walk away, nice and sandy about 200 m long enclosed by cliffs. You can buy an umbrella at a stall near the beach for €9 otherwise it cost €14 per day to rent a lounger and umbrella. The beach has a Blue flag and there is a resaurant/cafe there. There are paddle bots for hire and scuba trips.
On Sunday afternoon there was a musician at the pool otherwise no entertainment. There are 4 or 5 good restaurants arround and the supermarket is about 20 minutes walk.
There are no tourist shops for about 10 km. Ther is a good coastal walk westwards. This is a safe quiet place and I hope to return.
The best thing about my stay was…
Good beach close by

Great Holiday, Lovely Place (Boardman Family)
12 June 2011
First of all I don't know why this place has had bad reviews, the rooms where clean very spacious all necessary amenities and the staff were polite and friendly. The beaches which are 5 mins walk away are the best I have seen and I have seen allot of Europe's so called best beaches. We stayed self catering a family of 3, myself wife and 2 year old boy which is probably the best. As it was at the start of June the weather was great not too hot average 25 Deg and not too busy in fact some times we had the beach to ourselves. You may think this is too quiet but the fact is there are so many beaches to choose from there are over 10 beaches within 20 miles of coast and five right on your doorstep. I would also recommend you take the little boat trip and see the caves that surround the beautiful beaches along the coast at a price of 15 Euro its worth every penny. There are plenty of nice restaurants if you don't mind spending half an hour looking round the local area and the nearest large town is 20 mins walk with a child in tow if you want to do a little shopping. The local supermarket is 5 mins walk away and is bigger than most town supermarkets in the UK and has everything you need. If you don't have a car which we didn't the local bus service goes to all the major larger towns and cities. There are also lots of trips you can do through your hotel to all the major cities or historical places. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and the price is simply unbeatable for the area you are staying. Best time of year to go start of June to end of June if you want your own beach.

we stayed for 3 nights ,but really used this hotel as a base for visiting family.the apartment was very clean and very large,we were on the ground floor but still had a double size balcony with table and chairs (we also had a side ways on sea view} the beach is down hill about 10 mins and has a few bars/food.there is also a large supermarket not to far(prob need a taxi}the pool looked nice also has a baby pool and a little beach bar close to it.we did not eat in the rastaurant or snack bar but both looked nice and clean.we saw them setting up entertainment one eve but we were off out so i am not sure what it was like.there is a lot of buildings in progress but we heard no noise at all and they did not hinder our hol in any way, actually there was no noise from the apartments ,altogether a very peacefull holiday.
Lots of parking availible.

We have stayed twice in these very spacious clean apts and our kids constantly ask to go back here.we know the area well and find it an ideal base to travel around the algarve from. Its quiet at night and has that lovely Portugese family feel about the area.A good supermarket, cafe bars and excellent Italian restaurant all within walking distance.5 MIN WALK to a lovely small family beach and 5 min drive to the fabulous beach in Armacao de Pera. For our family this was a great find and one we will continue to use for years to come

These apartments are very clean and modern. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Our apartment was up several flights of steps. This could be awkward for some people. The cooking facilities were "basic", and consisted of a 4-ring hob, and no oven or kettle. However, a pan served as a teapot, so was just a minor hassle.
We didn't eat on site, but there are several restaurants nearby. There is a small beach nearby, with a cave to another beach. Parking was no problem, but, as we went in winter, this may not be the case in summer.
We were greeted on arrival at the reception by a friendly lady, and found all the staff cheery and helpful.
It was excellent value for money, and we were not hassled to take part in anything.
The hardest part of the holiday was finding the apartments, which took about 45 minutes once in resort. Travel directions are to drive to Porches village on the E125, turn off at the sign for Alporchinos, then on until you reach a garage and supermarket at a T junction. Turn off the main road at this point, then go about 300m. Turn left, then down the hill. Look for the signs to Quinta das Palmeiras, and follow the signs. You are now within 500m of the apartments, which are to your left on this road.

Stayed in a 2 bed Apartment at this facility and it was Excellent. The apartments are extremely spacious and are kept very very well.Cleanliness is 10/10 as well as maid service.
There is little entertainment in the evening in The Terrace Club for children but we did'nt mind as we travelled with 2 other families so the children entertained each other.
The beach is located approx 10 mins walk down a very steep hill. However well worth the walk as it is nice and safe for the children.
Distance's from everything
Beach 10 Mins (Walk) Supermarket 10 Mins (Walk) Water Park 10 mins(Drive) Armacao 20 Mins (Walk).
Over all great time had by all.

23 October 2005
This is the second time I have stayed at the terrace club, and had a nice welcome from reception including a complimentary drink to be taken before 6 pm on arrival. The 1st time we stayed was last year with my sister in a one bed apartment and this year with some friends in a 2 bed apartment. They are spacious and clean, but certain things could have been improved on the two bed apartment eg a new toilet seat as the one in the second bathroom was rotting away. The beds where changed frquently also towels. Only had a 4 ring hob, but a notice stating only 2 to be used at one time, no coffee maker, no microwave, the fridge had to be wiped out daily as it was auto defrost. The apartments do have a restaurant for breakfast and evening meal, which I can't write about as we never got to use it either time we stayed, I think they have some sort of entertainment on a few times a week, lots of tours arranged. If you don't mind steps or hill walking this is the ideal place to stay - it'a about 2 kms from Armacao de pera, 1km from a big supermarket a couple of taverna's close by and going in September of 2004 and october 2005 it was nice and quiet, but I should imagine in the height of the season it could be very crowded and not enough car parking spaces as a hire car is very handy to have to explore the rest of the algarve. On summing up the overall value for money package was good through Alpha rooms. The downside was I requested a ground floor, which we were given, but there were about 10 steps + a further 4 steps to get to apartment as it is built on a hill - so I wouldn't recommend if you want wheelchair friendly.

This place is a real gem, if you are thinking about booking then what are you waiting for. The terrace club is basically five blocks of apartments built around a central pool. The apartments are well appointed and relatively new. The one thing that hits you when you walk in to your apartment is the sheer size. We had a 2 bed apartment and was well impressed. There was a central hallway (which was roomsize itself) and then 2 massive bedrooms, 1 lounge, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen.Maid service is daily, and every room has either a pool or sea view. Only thing is they are mostly German & Portugese holidaymakers so language was a little tricky. Beach was only a stonethrow and is one of the best in algarve. The area in general is not too built up with just a handful of restaurants locally but the next resort centre "armacao de pera" is only a 20 min walk. To sum up terrace club is a fantastic place gearing toward families looking for a peaceful sunshine holiday who are happy to be away from the typical tourist trap resorts that give us brits a bad name. I would definitely go again.
