A Total Blast

05 June 2008
We are just back from the Barcelone as it is now called, just refurbished and renamed but still well known as the tarragona hotel, i took my partner there for his 40th as a surprise a little apprehensive as neither of us have ever been to Italy ( any part) and neither of us have Italian well the basic good morning , thank you, good bye...etc... but we found the staff excellent, couldn't do enough for us and it wasn't because i told them it was his birthday the hotel staff didn't know, we were just another couple of tourists!!!!, breakfast was cool, even though we had a few mishaps with the coffee machine!!!, but it was just laughed at and cleaned up right away!!!, cool selection of food but not fry ups!!! but the healthy option is good when you've been on the beer the night before!!!, room was quiet spacious we weren't tripping over each other or our stuff!!!, 5-10 min walk to the harbour or in the other direction the beach!!!,, We are deffinatley going back... as soon as we can work up some more hols!! and i would have no worries about bringing the kids age (9 & 8) as the breakfast room was a kids paradise ... happy holidaying....

Great Value and Great Location

23 April 2008
The Tarragona hotel is in an excellant location and offers great value for money. The rooms are clean, tidy and it looks like the hotel has gone through major refurbishment recently, hence it looks the part. The staff are friendly and offer help when required. The bar is fine and breakfast is basic but offers a more than satisfactory choice. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice hotel and great value for money. You would not get this kind of value or standard in the UK for the price I paid.

Good Location

03 April 2008
Just got back from a short stay at the Tarragona. The location is excellent, 5 mins walk to the old town/harbour. Rooms were small but clean. As the previous reviewer has said, the staff are the main problem here. Most were fine (but couldn't speak much English), although the man in charge of breakfast was very rude and didn't have a clue about how to offer customer service (or really seem to care anyway). The breakfast itself was pretty poor, but this is Italy after all. Overall, a great location and clean rooms, but don't expect five-star customer service or many friendly faces.

Excellent loction

Ideal location in between beach and old town 10 mins to each. Opposite Harbour. Very Very clean with comfortable rooms and large bathroom. Staff are the main problem - if you want to ask anything they avoid you - will not even look at you. Breakfast is poor-stayed for 5 days - only had bread once and no milk left on two mornings. Went for b/fast at around 9.30 each morning but they had run out of these essentials. The staff thought it was not a problem to not have bread - they could'nt give a damn!!
