The Swissotel Merchant Court is located on the banks of the Singapore river opposite the Clarke Quay Festival Village. Boat Quay and the historical Chinatown are within easy reach on foot. Mohamed Sultan Street, a well known promenade with restaurants and bars, where open air restaurants, pubs and nightclubs line the street is only ten minutes' walk away. The hotel has its own business centre with workstations equipped with high speed and wireless Internet access. The hotel also features function and meeting rooms including the ballroom, which can accommodate 600 persons. The guestrooms are decorated in contemporary style with typical elements of Straits Malaccan culture. The rattan chairs and rattan features such as cupboard doors, drawers and side tables give the rooms a tropical Asiatic feel. The hotel features an open air, free-form pool as well as an open air Jacuzzi and a gym. The Amrita spa area includes a gym which spreads over two floors and contains an aerobics studio and nine rooms for spa treatments of all kinds. Guests may enjoy all mealtimes either in the form of a buffet or choose the à la carte option. Regional dishes are served in the hotel's cafe, including typical Straits Chinese specialities.
