Well worth a visit
29 April 2008
The accomadation is essentially set up for self catering, with the usual stuff you would expect to find in the kitchen. Nice balcony area overlooking one of the pools. It is family orientated so you can expect quite a few children, and there is a German run childrens club, which is a little anoying with the loud anouncments and music, but nothinig different to many similar accomadations. The resort itself is fantastic in our view. A calm well sheltered bay to swim in is 5 minutes walk from the apartments, and a long promenade runs from the mariner at one end to the port at the other with plenty of good restaurants and a few music bars. A good mix of largely families and no crowds of single sex (either boys or girls!) dominating the resort, so a nice safe feel to the resort, especially on the evening. All in all I would definitely recommend the resort, and if you ha'vnt tried the accomodation you could do worse than the Sun Park - although there is a good choice of competitively priced (and if you want something more special) much more expensive hotels and accomadations in the area. Good value all round and very well worth a visit.

perfect location
31 March 2008
stayed for 9 nights, was very impressed with the condition and cleanliness of the place immediately. didn't really know what to expect based on some reviews, but it was absolutely ideal in terms of price, central location in playa blanca, and of course the room itself. Mostly german folks staying there, didn't find the place to conducive to meeting people or making friends, but then again i spent all my days out and about as opposed to poolside. Didn't eat one meal there, don't see why anyone would when there are endless restaurants around which i had many good meals at.
All in all playa blanca is a mellow place, but it is close proximity to any wilder party spots on the island. i would do it again in a second, and i would definitely stay at sun park.

SUN PARK
13 March 2008
We only stayed for two nights but the apartments were large and clean. There was a small safe that you could pay to use.
The room was well equiped but there was no soap or hairdryer. Reception staff were polite and helpful and spoke English. The tv had a slot to pay by the hour but seemed to be free anyway. There were two nice swimming pools, plenty of sunbeds and poolside entertainment from the animations team.

Well located, quiet location
12 February 2008
Sun Park is well situated within 5 minutes walk of the lovely Playa Dorada beach. It has clean, tidy apartments which are a few years old but well cared for. Cleaned every day and bedding changed twice during our ! week stay. The pools are large and plenty of space to sunbathe. We were self catered and within 10 minutes walk is a large selection of restaurants. We ate at Sun Park for breakfasts and were impressed with the variety of food on offer. I would consider going all inclusive or half board here next time. The apartments are in a quiet location so peaceful when trying to sleep. Most guests are English or German. There's a supermarket about 2 minutes walk away. The resort isn't overdeveloped unlike other canary island resorts. Within walking distance is the marina and also the ferry which takes you over to Fuertaventura. The most beautiful beach on Lanzarote is about a 45 minute walk or a short boat ride away and definately lives up to it's reputation. Overall very good value for money and I feel this hotel could be a star higher than rated.

Better than expecyed
17 September 2007
From reading some of the various reviews I went to Sun Park with nervous anticipation. What we found was better than expected, basic, yet clean and friendly. Apartments were cleaned everyday except one whilst we were there and there were plenty of places to lounge around by the 4 swimming pools. We were self catering as there are so many restaurants to choose from in the town. The only downside for us was the pedominantly German "1,2,Fly Club" that tried to entice you into activities 4 times a day with their songs and theme tunes! On the whole though we had a surprisingly pleasant time at the accommodation, but we did only use it as a base to sleep and sunbathe.

Review of 'SUN PARK'
24 May 2006
We stayed here in April 2006. We found it be a lovely quite complex, basic but very clean. It has four swimming pools so no huge crowds gathered in one place. You could visit the sister hotel(Sun Royal) next door if you wanted a livelier setting escecially at night. The beach was just six minutes walk from the Hotel. We liked it so much we are already planning our next trip there.

Review of 'SUN PARK'
13 November 2005
We hope to go back to Playa Blanca soon, and would choose to stay at Sun Park again. The apartment was good value - there were a few ants, which might bother some people, but I guess no more than anywhere else at the time of year (October). Lots of fish restaurants on the seafront, but the evening meal in the Sun Park (buffet for 10 euros) was also well cooked and very good value. Don't miss a tour of the area of the most recent eruptions.
Walking along the coast to Papagayo beach makes a fantastic walk, and we spent other days walking elsewhere, but get walking books (Sunflower Guide and/or Cicerone) and a map (AA) before leaving the UK. The water is very clear, and we saw dozens of fish when snorkelling from the beaches towards Papagayo Point.

Review of 'SUN PARK'
31 October 2005
I have booked with Alpharooms.com on numerous previous occasions - always trouble free and value for money. I chose Sun Park as a last minute October half-term booking for myself and 8 other family members (in all 6 adults and 3 children, 14, 10 and 2) as by this time there was very little else on offer.
On the "upside": 1. The complex was small with a pleasant aspect and the centre of Playa Blanca and beach within a 10 minute walk. 2. The staff were very helpful, especially with the children. 3. We were given 3 "apartments" next door to each other. They were clean, fairly spacious (for 2 adults and 1 child), the kitchen well equipped with microwave, coffee percolator, kettle (unusual in Spain) and plenty of utensils. Unfortunately NO HAIRDRYER in the bathroom. 4. Buffet breakfasts, at 3.95 euros for adults and 2 euros for children, were plentiful and good value, and the service was good. 5. Small basic supermarket on site.
On the "downside":
1.There was quite a lot of noisy refurbishment going on (which ultimately must be a plus), early morning through to evening, so relaxing by the pool was not a good option, but we did it anyway!!! 2. Plumbing in a couple of the "apartments" was a problem from time to time, but the maintenance men soon sorted them out.
For me Play Blanca is the best resort on the island. Plenty of good restaurants (particularly the "Jasmine" for chinese food). Great shops, numerous supermarkets and Marina Rubicon (not to be missed, particularly for diving enthusiasts).
All in all a very pleasant relaxing holiday and, except for one day out of eight, the weather was sunny with a warm breeze. I can't wait for next weekend - off to Granada with my daughter. Hotel courtesy of Alpharooms.com, of course.

Review of 'SUN PARK'
24 August 2005
From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful, polite. The apartment was lovely - quite basic but you only shower and sleep there! The whole complex was kept very clean There was maid service 5 days a week and a small supermarket on site. It was only a few minutes walk to the beach and the town itself with lots of superb restaurants - can really recommend La'Aritista -very busy but great Italian food. The Rubicon Marina worth a visit too. Lanis restaurant great and very reasonable prices. Close to the National Park which you have to go and see. Go by coach though people hire cars but you’re not allowed up volcanoes in your own vehicle and have to get on a coach anyway. Would recommend this to anyone and will definitely be going back again!
