Sun Island

My boyfriend and i stayed here from 20-24th March 2008. the aparthotel was lovely, very clean and well designed. I counted seven pools: one large, two kids and then four smaller pools with apartments round them. The smaller pools were still fairly large but felt like you were at a smaller private hotel. Staff were friendly and really helpful, you can hire pool towels for free and a card to access the gate to walk down to the seafront, also free but well worth it!!!! The rooms were modern and spacious with maid service every day, it's quite a new complex i think and it shows in the overall decoration. Our weather wasn't great but there was a spa suite, very reasonable at 3 euros 50 cents to use gym, jacuzzi, turkish bath, spa bath, steam room and sauna. Great for cloudy days and very relaxing!!! We had a really nice time and it was great value for money, it's nt on the seafront but there is a free bus every hour and otherwise it's a pleasant and easy ten minute walk. Visit puerto Rubicon for really good restaurants and 'one' bar on the port. Rebecca , London

Sun Island is a fantastic choice for all ages, about 10-15 minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and beaches of Playa Blanca. The private complex has small groups of apartments, only 2 storeys high, with each boasting either a garden or its own pool. We went in April/May so the resort was particularly quiet, and often we had the pool all to ourselves all day! Both the apartments/rooms and the surrounding areas are spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and well-mannered. The food in the buffet restaurant isn't great, but with an on-site supermarket for the neccesseties, and the shops & restaurants of Playa Blanca only a short walk away there's no need to use it! Overall a peaceful, modern complex with lots to do for everyone.
