This was our 3rd stay in the Stella and hope to return later in the year.
Location, price, cleanliness, and friendly staff are all part of the Stella experience.
When we returned this year, my wife realised that she had left a treasured pashmina behind in the apartment. After an exchange of emails, the pashmina arrived today by post. This was handled in a very professional manner by all the staff.

This is the 8th time we have stayed at Stella Maris but the first time that we have rented a 1 bedroom apartment instead of a studio. For any stay longer than, say, about 10 days we believe the extra space is well worth the extra expense. The location is excellent being approximately halfway between the centre of Fuengirola and the amenities of Los Boliches. All the staff remain as helpful, polite and friendly as ever and we would not consider staying anywhere else in the area.

good location in a quite part of Fuengirola. The Studio Apartment was small but had a balcony over looking the beach with was good. Lots of good restuarants around with plenty of choice . Can get a pint for 1euro in some small bars and 3 course mela from 7 upto 20 or even more if you want to spash out . Can get the train from the airport for E2.10 . all easy to find . We got the bus to Marbella and train to Malaga for a day out.

The apartments were in an excellent location, we could watch everyone on the beach from our balcony. There were plenty of restuarants and bars nearby, the beach was a 30 second walk away just across the road. We ate a lot in Adrians, good home cooking, roast beef was superb. Plenty of bars with offers on such as 1 euro for a pint of San Miguel.
For kids, there are amusements every few blocks along the seafront, and the beach is safe and clean.
Although the studio was smallish it had everythign we needed, the staff were excellent, it was very clean and we will definately be back.

Very clean, we got a 2 bedroom large apartment instead of a single, could have slept 6. Staff excellent - no kettle & patio doors did not lock, but were repaired within hours & kettle within an hour. Maid service very good - good location for Los Boliches or Central Fuengirola – recommended.

Fourteen Nights of Peacefullness
10 October 2008
This was our first stay at Stella Maris. We had been going to Fuengirola since 1997 and had looked at the hotel from the outside but usually stayed just up the road a couple of hundred metres. Anyway as we had not been abroad since 2004 we decided to book this hotel through "Alpharooms". The staff were the best we have come across and really went out of their way to please you. The Apartment was 'basic' but we improvised and made do and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was on the 15th floor(they dont have a 13th-they regard it as unlucky). The beach is across the road, the main square is half a mile away, and everywhere is 'on the flat' so to speak. Yes we will go there again, probably next November on our wedding anniversary. We had 4 days in the Stella Maris and we were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is in a great location, just opposite the beach. Our room had everything we needed, was very clean and had a fabulous shower over the bath. The views from the room were wonderful and there were lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. We would definitely go back and will recommend it to others. Kate and Myra

Fantastic, Brilliant and wonderful
12 July 2008
The view was amazing just got back today stayed on the ninth floor i recomend that you get a room as high as possible so you can see for miles. The room was clean fresh towels everyday the kettel was dodgy so tak your own comfy bed too, great service hotel staff were brilliant and helpfull. perfect location right opposite the beach good choice of restaurants near by such as papa luigis do the best pasta and the mariarchi as well. There is also a supermarket on the left of the hotel on the side street i would definantly come bak here again but the down side to the hotel is that you can hear people scrap there chairs on the floor and it is abit noisey but not that bad. But good.

Great location, but mix up on rooms. Arrived at 9Pm for a 3 night break, apartment had been booked for 3 adults, thay only had studio for 2 adults, after an hour they offered us 2 bed apartment ,top floor it was great. Next day reception said at 1pm we had to move apartments, a 1 bed had become available, so we couldnt go on the day trip we planned, spent 2 hours sorting it out, apatrtment is central and clean, but this mix up cost us a lot of time. Also booked double beds, again Alpha rooms , it was all twin beds.

Perfect for the price you pay. Very clean and tidy with a lovely but smallish balcony overlooking the main street and beach. You shouldn't have much trouble in having a seaview at this time of year (January) as it's a lot quieter, but don't let this put you off as there is still much going on with 90 per cent of bars and restaurants open. Catch the train down from Malaga airport as you will save a small fortune. Get off at the Los Boliches stop, head for the front and turn right, you can't miss it, about 200yds up. Weather was lovely, shorts and t-shirt most days, though colder in the shade and at night. Definitely a winter destination for us from now on as travelling and accommodation was so cheap!

Yet another stay at the Stella Maris, this time on my own. Reserved a studio. On arrival was offerred a choice of low, middle or high floor. I took room 305. As ever, it was spotless. Well furnished and equipped. Arrived early in the day but the room was ready. I suppose that this might not be the case at busy times of the year. As ever the location is difficult to beat, on the sea front. Fuengirola to the right and Los Boliches to the left. Daily English newspaper shop is 30 yards away. Superb. Good security with all night porter. It's a good as it gets for this type of accomodation. Eat in your room, eat in the restaurant or eat in the many ,many local places around. Highly recommended. Back with my wife in January for a few nights. looking forward to it already. Only got back yesterday.

Well located on promenade, essy access to central Fuengirola and the Los Boliches area. Booked two " one bedroom appartments" On arrival allocated two " two bedroomed appartments. Very clean, comfortable with huge balconies. Tv etc.Towels changed often. good maid service. All staff very friendly. Bar/restuarant staff frendly. Good value breakfast buffet. happy hour in bar at 6 pm. 2 for 1 offer on drinks. Prices reasonable. Stayed for 4 nights in January on a golfing holiday. The price that we paid was low. Great bargain and we will return next year. We feel that we got a great deal from alpharooms as we always do.

17 November 2005
Having gone away to the Costa Del Sol on an economy break, my wife and I were not expecting anywhere quite so clean and tidy as the Stella Maris. For the money we paid for a 3 night stay in November (£70), we received more than we could have bargained for. Satellite TV, including the main stream English TV channels were available, something which we have never had before in 4 and 5 star hotels. Microwave and a great bathroom were all part of the bargain. There was a small restaurant adjoined onto the hotel and we stumbled across this, a 9euro 'eat as much as you want' buffet, with some really nice food available, the choice of which was extensive. An internet connection was available. We stayed on the 9th floor. There are 4 lifts available to ferry you up and down. A great view at the front of the building looking across the Mediterranean and to the right, Fuengirola, to the left, Los Bolichos. We caught the train from and to the airport for around 4 euros for both of us. Great value. Takes about 30 minutes. The staff at Stella Maris were friendly and, if you are considering stopping here, you won't find better value anywhere else.

just spent 2 weeks here & had a great holiday, clean rooms, fresh towels every 2 days, bed linen every 5 days - super views of beach & marina from balcony, reception staff very helpful & spoke good english, restaurant & bar good value.just 1 gripe - the pool was not much bigger than one you would find in a private villa - totally inadequate for the size of the building.

Very very good hotel/app. Staff was very friendly, cleaner came in ever 2 days with new towels etc. Restaurant/bar was a bit disappointing. Location was excellent - out the way of all the husstle, but close enough to go for a strole to fine bars and restautants in the area. Big supermarket just round the corner, beach with sunbeds (8 euro for two a day + somebody looking out for your stuff) across the street. Also a little shop with bags, slippers etc. Overall a very good experience, looking forward to going back!

We loved our stay at the Stella Maris. After a 20 minute taxi ride from Malaga Airport we were allocated our Studio by the very friendlt recepionist. All the staff were friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was on the 7th floor, with a superb view of the Mediterranean , and the beaitiful playa of Fuengirola. Our room was basic, but clean. It had all we needed. The bathroom was ensuite; two twin beds, table, and chairs, and balcony to admire the views. The air-conditioning came as standard, and you could turn it on or off at your leisure. The hotel bar and restaurant was very reasonably priced. The food was ok, with Thursday night being "Chicken NIght".........eat as much as you like from the 20 different dishes. Fuengirola Centre is literally just minutes away, and what a busy place it can be. It has everything. We liked walking the promenade, and exploring the back streets to sample the delights of the restaurants, and bars. We highly recommend the "Stella Maris Hotel". Give it a try.... you won't be disappointed. We'll be back as soon as we can.
Enjoy!
