AMAZING!!!!!!!!
22 June 2008
I have literally Flown back from Magaluf at 6 o clock this morning and had to write a review on this Hotel as it is simply the Best in Magaluf!!! Very Trendy and Clean and Up to Date! With Good music playing by the pool every Day!! Restaurant is immense for a hang over Cure in the mornings (Big fat Fry up) Lots of Drink choice at the bar with Reasonable Prices.. Perfect for Preparing to hit the Town! Cardiac Hill is not as bad as people say! Yes it is Steap and is hard work but most of the time when walking it we had consumed alot of alcohol and it seemed easy! Taxi's can be ordered from the hotel and arrive within five minutes of Ordering! Pool Party was Crazy. Lots of Fun! Rooms are very nice and Cool. Air conditioning makes all the Difference although dont leave it on over night as it will Freeze u to Death! The only we found was we had to be very careful with the stuff in the apartment as just breaking one coat hanger would cost us 40 euro's also u have to use key cards to get in the room which obviously under thie influence of alcohol are hard to keep track of.. We lost 3 cards which cost us 3 euro's a card to replace. On the other hand the Hotel has an amazing atmosphere. Friendly staff! No jumping in the pool after 8 as it will incur in a hefty fine of 50 euro's! Hotel was a 5 minute walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the main strip! also BCM and the other clubs! Deffanately Reccomend getting the MCP Pass (Magaluf Club Pass) which is 55 euro's and gets u into all the main clubs in magaluf for free!! Very Worth it! Pirates is an absolute must See! All in all i would reccomend the Sotavanto to all young Groups of Clubbers as it is a trendy Young hotel Sitauted in the centre of magaluf and is targeted at the 18 - 30 Community! Best Holiday EVERRRR!!!!!

16 April 2008
I went to magaluf with a group of 10 people for my 21st and its the best holiday I have been on. Already booked to go back in the summer. The Sotavento was a really nice place to stay although the pool was a bit too cold this time of the year. We could chill in the hot tub which was great. The hill and steps are a killer but are easily forgotten about cos you have such a great night out the place. alexs. highly recommend to all young ppl !!!!!!!!!!!

first impression of the apartments was very nice very clean but the hill was awful having to walk down was not too bad it was the coming back. However did not get much sleep had lots of young groups staying there who were very rowdy. We put up with it for 5 days then on the 5th night I asked reception to try to calm them down as it was 5.30am and everyone was woken. staff were not helpful all they said was we have tried to ask them to keep quiet. So if your 18-25 and a party animal then this is the place for you!!!!!!

Good hotel
16 October 2007
Amazing hotel, very good quality. Very nice food served at the bar, good selection of dishes all though they didn't always have everything. Jaccouzi was a bit too chemical for us, it dyed all our swimming stuff, but the pool was nice.
Hill is a killer but would probably go back again.

Magaluf was BRILL!
04 October 2007
There were 10 of us girls went out at the beginning of September, the weather was still really nice though and we had such a wicked time! The hotel was clean and MOST of the staff were as helpful as possible. Personally, I didn't find the hill too bad - especially after a good old drinking sesh. The nightlife was really good as long as you avoid the PR's who try to coax you into their bars and clubs offering you drinks that you mostly never get! We absolutely loved our holiday and staying at Sotavento! I would without a doubt recommend Magaluf to any young people if your lively and up for a good time! I wouldn't say it's really a family place unless you really enjoy nightlife. Overall, we would definitely go back!!

Just got back from Magaluf a week ago and it was the most amazing holiday. jucuzi and pool are amazing and the matresses instead of hard sunbeds are so good. Location is perfect you cant hear the strip but its close enough. Hill is quite steep but it keeps you toned on hols! Go to Tokio Joes and revolution they are the best. BCM foam parties are pretty special aswell. all round amazing holiday - definitely going back soon!! Have a wicked time if your going soon!

i have just returned form this hotel after stayin friday to monday on a hen weekend and the whole hotel is amazin - its is so stylish inside very modern you couldn't fault it and the food was really cheap and nice in the hotel itself and loads of choice. the pool was really clean with a gym and jacuzi to use the sunbeds to sunbath were padded matresses on beds to lie on so compy if ur recoverin after thwe night before. i would highly recommend this hotel. however it is up a hill which isn't that bad if ur jst strolling but if ur unfit or disabled then may be a problem, however it is right up the hill from bannas a great night club so not that far to walk. also if you have children i would not recommend this for children as when i stayed it was mainly young ppl on hen and stag do's and they were swearin around the pool which would not b suitable for young children and many were arriving home early hours in the morning drunk. however overall if your young and looking for a stylish clean hotel in magaluff then i would recommend this one.

Oh My God, Just arrived home today after a 4 day easter break. It was wicked!!!!! For 3 young girls we had the best time there!! The hotel is lush, clean and stylish. Howevwer maid service is only every other day!! Staff are friednly, bar&food is nice. HILL IS A KILLER!!!! But the beach steps are worse!!!!! Only a couple of mins from the main nightlife strip, 5 mins from beach and a lovely resort we had the time of our lives!!!! Go to Club21, Alex's, Bonkers, and avoid craig - weener! Be careful not to let the pr's drag you in to everywhere tho! Cause they phyiscially do!!!! Jamie, Jamie and Joel are so hot! I would recommend this hotel to young people as its very lively, espcially during the night! Our stay was brillioant and we are hoping to go back soon!

Sotavento Apartments are amazing, i went in summer with 2 girlfriends all aged 18 and we had the best week of our lives! The room was lovely however we had to shut the sliding door on the balcony to make the air con work which was a bummer. The fridge also had problems. And the shower was kind of really hot or really cold. Comfy beds (and floor!) BCM is amazing. The steep hill could be a problem for the larger bodied clubbers but quite often you dont remember it on the way home. drunk scottish lads in the pool were a laugh! amazing week hope 2 go again.

JUST GOT BACK VERY GOOD!
19 August 2006
Just got back on the 7th august 06. Sotavento were very nice apartments, i went to magaluf peak season so it was full of youngsters and very few families so was quite noisy but thats to be expected in a party city like magaluf, however staff generally kept on top of the behaviour and did not stand any nonsense. hotel rooms were basic but very clean, and the bar/cafe served very nice food and undercut the prices of other eating establishments. mini supermarket next door which again was very cheap for drinks snacks and budweiser only 16 euros a crate, which is about 11 quid. the bank was very steep but a great way to sober up, however be prepared to sweat. pool was cleaned every morninig. BUT IF ANY FAMILIES ARE CONCERNED ABOUT STAYING HERE, DONT, BECAUSE IT IS A VERY CLEAN HOTEL VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE AND GOOD FACILITIES!

25 July 2006
We are a couple in our late 30's, with us we had 3 children, aged 9, 14 and 15 and my mum who is 68. The hotel rooms were clean, towels and sheets were changed regularly. The staff are helpful. We were a bit worried about the steep hill (more like a mountain!), but you do get used to it.
Our only problem was that the hotal seems to cater for the very young end of the market, so firstly, our kids couldn't really use the pool as it was full of young lads larking about, and secondly we hardly got any sleep between 4.00a.m. and 8.00a.m. because of all the noise/banging/chanting etc.
There are nice apartments, if you ever get used to the hill, but I would never recommend it to a family.

on arrival the lady at reception was welcoming and cooperative in getting us a safe for 20 euro for the week and though we were due out of the room at 12 on eparture day we paid 40 euro to keep the room on til 7pm when we were due to be picked up. The rooms werent anything to rave about but they had evrithing 4 lads needed needed 2 beds n 2 sofabeds, fridge, balcony with tabel n chairs, air con, kettle/toaster, rings etc Only faults were the bath which doubled up as a shower was quite small, and ther were only about 6 hangers in the 1 wardrobe so take ur own for shirts etc. The hill isnt as bad as some people make out, the steps from the beach to the strip are worse! but i woulod recommend because as soon as ur down the hill ur straight into the nightlife and its only 5 minuites from the beach. plenty of places to wine and dine although the sotaventos bar is excellent and a good place to chill before u go out and meet people. sunbeds dont usually all get taken up by 1pm unsuprisingly, many are gettin out of bed at 4pm lol. nightlife was awesmoe theres the mcp clubs bananas, bomerangs, fusion and tokio joes 11 euros for a stamp and can go in any all night, but u do have to pay for drinks then theres some wicked nights in bcm for 25 euros which gets u freebies and a free bar. All in all we had an excellent time and i would recommend it to any young groups of girls or boys.

Just returned from a triple stag do for three nights & was knocked out by the hotel. Very good value for money. The rooms are very clean & facilities are good. Food is excellent & cheap. Staff are very friendly & helpful. This is a perfect base for groups or couples, very lively - possibly not the place for those who crave peace & quiet. Located on top of a steep hill, but you get used to it, eventually. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended !

Very impressed by the quality of the accomodation for the price. In a prime location with sea views, staff were very friendly and there was a good atmosphere. I went to the Sotavento in October 05 with my pal and my two children aged 11 and 13 for a week. We had a fabulous time. The hotel was spotless inside and out. The apartment was lovely and clean and everything you needed in it, the towels changed every second day and the sheets changed as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. Tex Mex restaurant just down the road was excellent, plenty of other eating places close by as well, the food at the hotel was lovely as well. The Pirates show and water park all good value and good fun. A great place for my childrens first holiday abroad, and we will go back there again. Great place.

We found the Sotovento apartments to be be spacious, clean and the staff extremely friendly. Despite going later in the year we found the weather was still good and there was plenty to do day and night. Sadly it was too cold for the pool as it is one of the best layout I have seen, especially for small children. The views aren't too bad, depends which apartment you get. We had no problems at all with gangs (mind you we stayed out late anyway!) The only downside is the hill, but as everyone says, it's good for working off the late snacks. We would deffinately recomend it and will no doubt return.

The hotel had everything that we needed for our holiday, it is lively so you get to meet up with people around the pool side (and lift!!). Rooms are fantastic and had everything that we needed.
Reception staff were a bit unhelpful, as on arrival i asked if we could have a pool view, and the receptionist looked at me as if i had 2 heads and totally ignored what i had said. He gave us the key and failed to mention that we would be over looking a building site... along with builders. Luckyly the room had air conditioning which was free of charge, we did get woken up a few mornings by the builders, but managed to get back to sleep.
The hotel also does not offer a shower room for at the end of your stay and also the only place for your suit cases is in the hotel reception.
Also the hotel require a 60 euro deposit which is refundable at the end of your stay provided you stay within the rules and "do not smoke in bed!!"

Great clean apartments which are spacious for 4 people, ours was a group of 13 - some had nice balcony views of the sea and pool otherwise you have the car park!!
Pool area and sunbeds spot on, bar good to start the night off with cheap prices.
Hill not too bad especially when negotiating at 6 in the morning full of beer!
Tip - book for an extra night to cover on departure so have somewhere to shower etc... as this is cheaper than asking to keep room on after 12 on departure day. We tried to keep 1 room on but hotel was fully booked! (was always busy mind).
Can't wait to come back next year.

The Sotavento Apartments were quite nice to stay in, quite spaceous and perfect for the two of us who travelled to stay in. The kitchen wasn't the best to say the least (kettle took ages to boil!!) but wasn't bad for what we were eating. The pool looked quite nice - even though we didn't go in it. Very close to the night life - after walking down the steepest hill EVER (get taxi's back!) but is sitauted perfectly. Be careful if you have a night flight as they do not have a courtesy room or anywhere to leave your bags so make sure you find people who are leaving after you and leave your stuff in there, as the reception staff are not the friendliest!!

These apartments were an excellent base for a group holiday in Magaluf. Rooms were modern, spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restuarant and bar was reasonably priced along with the on site supermarket which was very handy. The hill leading up the apartments can be a nightmare but I definitely would not let this put you off. We definitely had a few entertaining moments after our night outs trying to get up it. It gets easier everytime and at least it's burning off those beers and kebabs. The main strip is literally 2 mins down the hill, along with the beach and shops. One thing we didn't know about before we went was that on arrival to the apartments you are required to pay a 60 euro deposit per room. This is incase of any damages which I can understand from the amount of young groups that stay there. I would not recommend these apartments for families. I will definitely be returning to these apartments.

My friends and I would definately recommend the Sotavento. Clean and spacious rooms. The kitchen area was not to bad, but could have had a microwave and a grill. You would struggle to cook a decent meal even though we never did. Just hot dogs. GREAT. The pool looked nice even though we did not go in it, and the food looked/smelled nice even though we did not try it. Something to do with not getting out of bed till 4 in the afternoon. That is what the Magaluf night life does to you.

The Sotavento apartments have got to be the best i've ever stayed at and certainly didnt expect it of Magaluf! The rooms are huge with a very spacious balcony from which we had a brilliant pool and sea view. The kitchen and bathroom are really well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The pool and other facilities are excellent and the somewhat frightening hill leading to the apartments is a breeze when you consider how worth it the climb is and how much fitter you are by the end of the holiday! Works off all those late night kebabs you'll eat. Good news all round!

I was really chuffed with the hotel. When I booked there were no pictures on the website, so it was a bit pot-luck. Couldn't have done any better. We just had a stag weekend at the Sotavento and it turned out to be, probably one of the best holidays ive had, and as far as the apartments go, i have nothing bad to say, the rooms were all spotless as was the pool area, and the staff were very friendly and the food was great to. As for the hill that its situated on, well its not that bad and is actually quite funny watchin folk crawl up it at six in the morning on all fours, and the occasional person rollin back down it. The location was spot on, only minutes walk to the nearest bars and restaurents, and very close to the beach. I would recomend this hotel to young groups or couples, but not for families as it can get a little noisey in the early hours, but to be fair that was probably ourselves !! We have only been back two days and already talking about returning to the same place later on in the year, well recomended !

Me and my 30 friends went to stay in the sotavento apartments on the 130505 for 4 nites, we went for my hen weekend, the rooms were really clean and spacious, there were 4 in each room and we all managed fine!! There were some great views if u couldnt see the sea u could see the pool, so it were great.. I would definatly recommend these apartments to Hen or Stag parties, whilst we were there we saw another hen party and 2 stag parties which all had large members in them, I would not recomend this accommodation to people with children and to couples wanting a relaxing break...There is a monster hill to master to get back after a night out, but its ok... I really enjoyed my stay at the sotavento and would definatley go back, the food was really nice and the staff were too.... If your lookinf for somewhere to stay i definatley recommend the sotavento...

Review of 'SOTAVENTO'
18 May 2005
Stayed at the Sotavento on Apr 30th to May 2nd 2005 - what a great place! Were slightly worried by other reports mentioning the location being up a hill but we needn't have worried! It wasn't a problem, not as bad as we had imagined. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were up to date and spacious with plenty of facilities. Supermarket beneath hotel was very handy as was the bar and restaurant. We had a great view over the pool, and also looking out to sea. We found the hotel in an ideal position with everything being within easy walking distance. Can't wait to go back again as soon as possible!!! Definitely recommended!
