Relaxing days!

09 June 2008
I came from up Norht Norway and flew to Tenerife via Oslo. 30./05 - 05/06.2008. We still have snow and I was longing for sun and relaxing days. And I really fullfilled my dreams. Plesant staff at the hotel. The last day the elevator had problems, the only thing which was negative. Clean, good, rooms, breakfast, close to swimmingpool , shops, bus and beach. I will come back every spring one week to Princesca, to escape, snow and cold in north Norway. Thank you chef for fresh fried eggs everey mornig. Yngve Beddari, Pasvik, North Norway

Pleasant stay at Sol Princesa

04 February 2008
Our flight to Tenerife was delayed so after checking to a very considerate male receptionist we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the dining area was still open and so we were able to partake in a very welcome meal to satisfy a travellers hunger.\the room allocated on the seventh floor was in a peaceful location and the standard of the room itself good if one discounted a rather hard matress. There was plenty to choose from the dinner menu in the evening but found queuing for wine a bit tiresome. We found the events laid on off the foyer a bit dated for our age but saw that it was thoroughly enjoyed by the sprightly septagenarians who strutted about with much aplom well into the evening but we found our niche in the bars nestled about the charming harbour of Los Cristianos . The Irish Times most enjoyable. The highlight of our stay was a day trip to La Gomera on the Fred Olsen ferry and our visit to the Parque Nactional De Garajonay well be treasured in years to come. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Sol Princesa Dacil and not a drop of rain to be had all week.

Good Place to Stay

04 February 2008
Arrival - Very Welcoming Reception Staff. The Room - Very Clean and comfortable. We were on the 14th of 15 Floors. The only problem is that the polished tile floor enables the bed to move slowly towards the Bathroom while you are sitting up in bed reading. The lifts - We never had to wait too long for a lift. Floors 8 to 15 are served by express lifts that do not stop at floors 1 to 7. (They have their own lift) The lifts are rated for 8 persons but if there are more than 6 the doors can refuse to open. Makes for an exciting trip. Restaurant - We gave the food 6 out of 10. Good choice - but always a little bland. The curry I had one day had never seen a chilli but the salads were fresh and good. There was nothing to rave about but certainly nothing to complain about. I put on half a stone while there. Location - Excellent. This hotel is ideally placed for the town beach and harbour. 3 to 5 mins walk to the Bus station and busses go everywhere from Los Christianos. In Tenerife I would not want to stay anywhere else. Nice to go to all these other places for the day. Entertainments - For a medium sized hotel the Evening Entertainments are excellent. The only complain is that the seating in the "Sportsman’s Bar" is not the most comfortable. This hotel caters for all ages but in late January the 60 year olds were in a strong majority.

Good oene for the oldies

02 February 2008
We stayed in the Dacil for 3 nights at the end of January (we were over to sign for our apartment) which is located nearbuy. The room was a great size (double with lounge), clean with a great view of the pool, mountain and beach area, however and the hotel in general could do with a bit of an update. It very much catered for the older crowd and it was great listening to tunes of 'paper roses' and 'top of the world!' My one big complaint would be the pools - they were ice, ice cold - I was afraid to let my 2 yr old in the paddling pool in case he got hypothermia - not surprisingly no one got in whilst we were there! Food was ok, breakfast better than the dinner options e.g. chicken pie with no pastry/lid??? Staff really friendly and approachable and it was great to see so many older people taking part in the games and competitions they organised - even played a bit of bingo ourselves!

arrived 180108 at 5.45pm at reception booked in with no hassle staff very friendly, we were very impressed with the room we booked basic double bedroom which had living room bedroom and alarge bathroom ,beds and towels were changed every day ,rooms were very clean. Nice balcony overlooking sea to the left and mountains to the front ,good location to explore the coastline and shopping centres. Food at the hotel was very good standard and plenty of it as well,we were booked half board and would recommend this as food locally seemed quite expensive. The hotel has two swimming pools and crazy golf and loads of other activities. We would have no hesitation at all recommending this hotel and the resort as well ,good entertainment at O Flahertys irish bar and a warm welcome at Starstrucks just down the road from the hotel all in all a good holiday !

Best Christmas & New year break

06 January 2008
Just come back from 2 week break over Christmas/Newyear. Fab time, great weather. Hotel staff Very Very good and friendly. Food good and plenty of it and variation. Family room was clean and well looked after, but the settee bed was not comfortable for adults, as we had a girl and a boy, they had the twin beds. Consider 2 connecting rooms if taking the same as us.There was only one complaint, after ten oclock there was nothing to do for the young people. A disco or the like in the bottom bar would have been good but it was a bit dead evenings. Pool cold but safe to use for children. Every where very clean and tidy.
